To all of the 1/06 arrivals that got their role last Monday, what time did you get the workday email and what is your time zone? :)
I’m mainly asking this because I know the first week is orientation and when you likely will get to meet people. I really want to make sure I find a group of friends when I’m there and I’m a little nervous that I picked a bad move in date that will make it difficult to do so.
Im moving in Jan 27th and wherever I look I notice barely any people have that date. Like legitimately I see like < 5% of people posting in Insta or Facebook with that date. I was wondering if maybe some dates are smaller groups?
Also I feel a little nervous bc I have met someone but their date is different. That means they probs will be busy working by the time I arrive and also will have built a group of friends already.
Tldr- Do some dates have wayy less people for move in / orientation? And also, is it difficult to become friends with someone w/ a different date? (Aka are you limited to who u have the same arrival date when making friends)
What time did you guys get the email with your roles last week?
hi guys! can anyone tell me what to expect if i got placed in attractions in toy story land? i just like knowing as much as possible in advance :) thank you! i arrive 1/6 if anyone if arriving the same day and will be working with me!
I've noticed a lot of January 6th arrivals found out their roles this past week. As a January 13th arrival is it safe to assume I'll find out my role this upcoming week? I already paid my second wave of fees.
I received the email of the “FYI: program fee breakdown” and it stated six weeks prior to arrival, I will have to pay $215 for housing administration fees and rent. Will I be able to know what role and the type of housing I will be put in before I cash in this next payment or will I have to pay then find out? My arrival date is Jan 13.
Hey everyone! I am planning on applying to the dcp for the fall of 2025 when applications open in January. I unfortunately don't have a ton of work experience (really only babysitting) because I have always been so focused on school. I'm so worried that that I won't be accepted because of this. Has anyone been in a similar position and still gotten accepted? Any advice and tips would be so helpful!
Hi this person hit me up telling me all the things he wants to do to me and I told him now multiple times and even said idc if I have to rape you to get you you will be mine and now I’m scared to do the program for my own safety. I have his name and his info and his move in date who can I contact so I can hopefully get him kicked out for all of our safety
Hi everyone, I’m arriving 1/6 and got Resort Concierge at Port Orleans. Does anyone have any advice for me? What do the hours look like? Should I expect to work night shift, etc etc. Thank you in advance! (To add I have previous experience in this role with another company, just would like a Disney perspective)
hi guys! i’m starting my dcp on 1/27 and was wondering if anyone currently enrolled or previously has any advice as to what essentials i should bring? like should i pack like id pack for living in my college dorm? i know there are a lot of things that the kitchen and such come with (super helpful), but would like to see if anyone has good suggestions! also should i bring a mattress topper?
thanks in advance!!
Hello this is my first post asking about information My name is Steffi and I’m expected to enter the program end of January for Orlando :) I received an email about attending a zoom meeting Dec 3rd, when will I receive more information about housing at flamingo village, what role I get, and everything else to expect? Please if anyone has gone through this process share your experience 🩷thank you happy holidays
I was wondering how much is taken out for housing? I found a studio nearby that’s 800 a month for the 5 months I’m there and I’m trying to figure out if I should do that because I saw online it was $200 automatically taken out for housing a week at flamingo which feels like a lot to me per month. Would it save me the hassle of not having to remember to pay for rent every month? What’s everyone’s advice?
As a Disney College employee, do I get an employee discount, and can I use it to buy gift cards or use the discount when I purchase a gift card?
My roomates have threatened to throw. All my food away in the fridge. I don’t have much food and haven’t been to the store in weeks. What do I do if they throw my things away? Call the cops. I’m over it and not my refrigerated food will be gone
Hey guys, I’m getting deployed to CRT and I have no idea how to get there. I never have to go in the tunnels so I’m not sure how to navigate them. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
Is it just taking longer or did I do something wrong? It says I have successfully completed DORMS registration so I am confused on where I am going wrong.
okay so two problems:
my roommate doesn’t clean. i’ve tried a schedule, constantly reminding her, and dedicating a day to clean. we live in a 2x2 so her area does effect me. i am definitely a person who likes her rooms clean, so i clean more often than others. but i’ve tried putting off cleaning to see if she does it. nope. i’ve asked and reminded but she still doesn’t. so it all falls on me. i haven’t had a lot of roommate experience so i’m not sure how to handle this.
our schedules are different. i usually work a 9-5ish schedule but work parties sometimes, she usually works late which leads to her sleeping during the day. but i mean sleeping until 6:00 pm. which gets in the way of me doing this in my room during the day. like cleaning, doing work or just reading. i feel bad being in there while she’s sleeping and possibly waking her up, but i also need to get things done.
any advice???
Edit I meant to say what my job is going to be sorry for the confusion
I'm considering joining for summer 2025 and I'm trying to figure out some budgetary things. It is likely I would be able to pass the test and become a deep water or at least a shallow water life guard but a friend of mine who did the program before said that there may be a new combined pay rate for the two positions for 2025. Does anyone have any insights about what this would look like?
Any one interested? $125 for the whole 10lb box or $15 for 8oz portion. Comes frozen and great quality. Amazing with salt, pepper and herb seasoning on the grills outside. Hmu asap as my program ends in a week.
I just transferred to custodial and I had and alpha my third day of training. I’ve been transferred three times for accommodations and I don’t want to get transferred again. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the next steps are for an alpha? Will I get transferred again? Will I get in any trouble? I’m kinda freaking out.
hi guys,
i know that we find out exactly what we need when we get there, however family members who have offered to buy my shoes and water bottle (so thankful for them) are wanting to know today what i'll need because of black friday deals. does anyone know what i'll need for a water bottle and shoes? for reference i'm working in magic kingdom as QSFB/QSR in fantasyland
Did anyone know Randy/Kyle who was in the program and was a chef?
hi everyone!
i just got my role for 1/6 arrival and will be in attractions in toy story land. does anyone know what the average hour count is? i put in a medical accommodation requesting no more than 35 hours a week but was told there’s no guarantee and i’m getting a little nervous seeing old threads on here saying some people in attractions worked upwards of 50 hours a week
Any insight about the Epcot Park Arrival role?
Has anyone had the park greeter role & if so what was it like? Is that one you can even mention you want in the interview process?
I also wanted to know if anyone has opted out of housing and how it was not living there and around how much were the paychecks. Since I see one of the biggest issues being how they take rent out of your paycheck and I won’t be living there is the pay good?
Hey I am doing the disney college program and got put as a lifeguard and I want to know during what part of the training we start to get payed? Like during the Ellis training, or is it when we’re starting to shadow. Also, is it going to be too hard to keep up as a lifeguard? How are the hours and shifts?
I don’t live at Flamingo & am considering terming due to some other opportunities available to me. What would I do in order to term?
I would prefer not to have to go to the offices at Flamingo bc of the hassle & the process isn’t super clear to me. Any guidance is appreciated! Thank you!
so I’m a little worried because I wasn’t able to get a later shift for today so I ended up calling out because I was exhausted from closing last night, is calling out in a holiday any different from calling out on a regular day?
I’m just a little concerned, no I don’t have enough points to get a reprimand and no I don’t have any reprimands so ideally I should be good to go right?
