Disneybounding is a fashion trend started by Leslie Kay on tumblr a few years ago. It's wearing normal clothes while dressing like a Disney character (think cosplaying with normal clothes).
For example: A black shirt with red pants and yellow shoes is a disneybound as Mickey Mouse. Blue jacket, white shirt, blue jeans and yellow shoes? Donald Duck. More examples can be found on Leslie's tumblr
This is a community for sharing pictures, inspiration for outfits, and questions or advice, and anything else related to Disneybounding! Anyone from avid Disneybounders to those still trying to figure it out are welcome!

I have a week-long Disney Cruise coming up and I would like to dress up in different characters as much as possible throughout the week. This is my first time trying bounding, so I need to do some assessments of my closet and what pieces I need to add in. We typically do laundry halfway through our cruise to decrease luggage. What are some of your favorite pieces that can be used for multiple characters so I can mix it up throughout the week?
For example: “I have a top/skirt/belt/whatever in (example color) that I use for (Character 1) and (Character 2).”
Thanks!
We are heading to Disney in the end of April/Early May and I’m looking for some Olaf inspiration for my son! He is 2.5 and wears a 3T.
He is also a huge fan of the monkeys in the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom. I’d love to find an outfit inspired by them as well!
Thanks!
I won/earned a cruise that leaves from Orlando through work and have added on a few days at Disneyworld on the front end of the trip. I just can't justify flying to Orlando from California and not visiting Disneyworld!
I have a severely injured ankle, that I actually postponed reconstruction surgery for to be able to go on this trip. Because of that, I am very careful about footware. Crocs work extremely well for my injured ankle and I happen to have them in yellow and red, so I figured that's what I would wear to the parks. The yellow Crocs are easy; I'll do Mickey or Minnie. Can you all suggest a character for the red Crocs?
Both of us identify as females! Also I own the America Chavez ears :)
Any suggestion helps as strange is super hard to Disney bound
Looking for a bow tie, vest, jacket, and pants, but I don't know what color they are. Any help is appreciated!
Since Hamilton is on Disney can I go as a character?
Where are the best stores to go to/browse for Disney themed clothing? I’m looking for Disney themed dresses and skirts in particular and have tried Depop and Poshmark with only a little bit of luck. Thank you!❤️
Hi! I'd love to disneybound more but I struggle coming up with inspiration. Most results are collages and flatlays which don't really help me imagine what it will look like. Do you know of any accounts, websites, etc that post pictures of disneybounders in full outfit? Especially men? (I feel like that's the hardest to find)
Thank you!
Hello,
I hope you're well! My name is Amelia Tait and I'm a journalist; you can see my work at ameliatait.com.
I'm writing a piece on "Disney adults" for the New Statesman and I am trying to make it more than reductive, one-dimensional pieces we usually see on this topic. My piece will explore history, psychology, cultural hegemony, society, politics, etc. to examine the place of Disney in modern lives.
With that in mind, I've created a survey for people who identify as "Disney adults" and would appreciate anyone who has the time to take it: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSctL2MVKlM_rYlRN9hETVXf7p4CRpl_G-tqR-dR4lT7x2DIjg/viewform?usp=sf_link
You can see a previous example of my Disney reporting here.
Sorry to interrupt the community - I asked the mods for permission before posting!
Thanks again,
Amelia
We have a family trip coming up with 3 boys (11, 7, and 3) and one girl (3) in the cousin crew. The older boys would like to go as Huey and Dewey, and they’d like their little cousins to be Louie and Webby. The boys are simple enough to find colored shirts and light shorts to wear, but does anyone have any suggestions for 3T Webby? The sweater vest with a collared shirt under it is throwing me because I don’t know where to find those colors and also don’t want her to get too hot. (Also hoping not to break the bank on outfits that will be ketchuped at the first meal…) Suggestions?
I'm looking for ideas on how to Disneybound as King Magnifico from Wish. I'm not sure what I could wear that would evoke his robe or cape.
trying to find a good outfit that will fit a Tron aesthetic , I am male and found it hard to find anything that is black with cyan stripes . tried adidas and was so close but no cigar . back in the day they had Tron themed clothes but that was over a decade ago . where I have the most issue is finding any shoes or shorts/pants that will fit the aesthetic . lack of glow in the dark as a feature is not a deal breaker .
I have almost a year until we're going to Disney World and Universal fpr our honeymoon, but I'm very excited and already planning my outfits! I plan to bound as Arielle, Ursula, Maid Marian, Donald Duck and do a park themed outfit for Animal Kingdom and some Star Wars outfit for Hollywood Studios.
I've already ordered a bag for Hollywood studios: https://www.shopdisney.com/star-wars-a-new-hope-loungefly-backpack-420144265644.html
But I'm looking for a backpack to match as many of my other outfits as possible, so maybe something purple? Do you have any favourites? We're flying in from Europe so I don't think I can bring more than two backpacks.
My family is heading to Disneyland for 2 days.
Looking for some easy, comfy, casual bounding ideas for late January for a mom and two kids (age 1 and 5). My one limit is that I don’t want anyone wearing white - it’s too hard to keep clean with two adventurous kids. We’re from a cold climate so January in California is light sweater/sweatshirt weather for us.
My older child’s favorite Disney movies are 101 Dalmatians, Bolt, Big Hero 6, Finding Nemo/Dory, Frozen 1 & 2, and Strange World.
