Does anyone else have an issue with the G7 staying connected to their phone via Bluetooth? Or, Is this a known issue with the G7?
Hey y'all, I have some G-7 sensors that appear to be expired as of 4-5 months ago.
Are they still good to use or do I need to toss them?
Why in the world does my kitten attack my g7 sensor she just lashes out and chews the dam thing till I, wack her
I am not located in US, but recently Dexcom made it harder for us to get replacements because they found other people abuse the system and sold off the replacements for profit.
The reject reason they provided me include
I didn't have another phone on me so I didn't take any pictures plus the app won't even let me to do screenshots.
I want to see if other users are experiencing the same frustrating responses from Dexcom?
The reseller here also mentioned to me Dexcom won't replace faulty sensors if
Any other tips or advice on getting replacements from Dexcom is appreciated.
Am very curious since so many people have the g7 how is it like? And would you add anything to make it better?
Hi I had to get a new phone today because the one I have been using keeps freezing up and has made me lose important phone calls during the call. The new phone is a Moto G Play 2024 and it has Dexcom G7 in the play store. I have 2 days left on my sensor but not sure if I can switch it without losing the time. And I have been using the BYD app on the phone I have been using. It's a Moto G Play 2023. Does anyone know if it will hurt to switch to the new phone or should I just wait. I can't afford to end the sensor early. I have 1 new sensor left to last me
I had dexcom for 3 years and since g7 came out I was wondering is it better than the g6 or worse?
Now that everything that comes into our country will have a tariff attached, will Dexcom's become MORE expensive? I know the company has a manufacturing plant in AZ (I think), but do we make enough of the pieces here?
Im a sorta new user to my dexcom g7 annnnd i was wondering- how many times can u calibrate ur sensor? After my last change out, this one has been a bit inaccurate.. I’ve calibrated it like…2 times today i think? And ive never had to do it before now. Is that not safe to do or… i have no idea pls help
So my question is directed more towards those that use Stelo (or any CGM really) AND are side/stomach sleepers. As well as those that dance (with a partner, like
I'm not diabetic of any level, but there is family history. I am also overweight and have PCOS. I figured I'd get a GM to start with and test foods before, 1 hour and 2 hours after to see if I need to back off or eliminate some foods.
I have a GM that I use occasionally (pricking the side of my palm), and most of my tests have shown acceptable fasting, post eating highs and return to normal readings. Yet I have not managed to find any patterns or usable info on why I had plateaued(sp?) at 180 last year. (Was 220 about 3 years ago, and for some reason started, non-alarmingly, slowly losing weight.) Now, I'm strangely back up to 200, and still have "normal" GM and A1C readings. And no significant change in the rest of my lifestyle to explain the loss or gains.
Sorry if that was a bit extra info.... I'm a troubleshooter/fixed by nature, and not knowing why I started losing weight (but loved it), and why it stopped then creeping back up... is driving me nuts.
Anyway I've been looking into a CGM, which wasn't affordable until I saw a Stelo ad recently.
The problem with any of them, for me, seems that placement is going to be a conundrum. To say the least.
I'm a stomach/side sleeper. Can't stand sleeping on my back. Sometimes I'm on both sides and my stomach all in one night. And as mentioned in the beginning, I also dance. Partner dancing like swing and ballroom, where arm contact (both fore and upper arm) is quite common.
So... if I were to put the sensor on the suggested area of my arm, I imagine sleeping on either side is going to cause whatever the problem is that they suggest not placing where it could get slept on. But also the arm while dancing might be problematic. (Left arm as a follow, right arm as a lead. I do both and that is a common contact/lead point.)
I read about the stomach as a placement point, but as I said, I also sleep on my stomach frequently. To boot, I wear high waisted leggings that cover my stomach.
So where the heck do I put this thing if I do get one? 🤔 The top of my head? 😅 Kidding, of course.
And what is the issue in regards to placement and sleeping position?
I have PCOS and my doctor gave me a Dexcom G6 yesterday morning. I also take metformin and eat low carb. In the past, my A1C was 4.5 even without metformin or any dietary changes.
I am new to this and have never used a CGM but startled by readings as low as 39.
Yesterday, my readings were around 100 and slowly decreased until around 63 in the afternoon. I ate dinner, went up to around 80-90 and then my readings started dropping more. They got as low as 52 before I went to sleep. Overnight, I was woken up by the app several times because it just said LOW and was apparently below 40. When I woke up in the morning, it was 55 and then increased slightly after breakfast. It's been 60s-70s all day until now it's early evening and 53 again.
I messaged my doctor and she didn't seem too concerned. All she said was "do a glucose fasting test" when I go get my other blood work done tomorrow.
Should I be concerned? Could the readings be THAT off? I have also felt exhausted and have been having headaches (which is all normal for me).
I was diagnosed with pre diabetes 7 months ago and have been diligent about monitoring my blood sugar. Got A1C to 5.5 (down from 5.8) but then last month it jumped back up to 5.7.
I had always hesitated to get a CGM but a few days ago, I asked my PCP for a prescription. (I’m so sick and tired of getting that drop of blood for testing.) She prescribed the Dexcom G7 and I picked it up today.
I have seen comments where people put it on the stomach or thigh, rather than on the back of the arm. Anyone have any first hand experience with positioning it somewhere other than the arm?
I’m really hoping to put it on my stomach.
UPDATE: THANKS everyone! It’s very reassuring to hear that you’ve had success placing it somewhere other than the arm. I’m ready to dive in and get started!
What do we do with old sensors? I've been on the g6 but now on the g7.
I have used dexcom for years, and have only ever used my Android phone for the data. I also have been on an insulin pump the duration of my dexcom usage (Omnipod 5 g7 now), and just got my first ever G7 receiver delivered today. I got that ordered due to connection issues between my pump and dexcom app, and recently my dexcom app losing signal and not alerting me that I was in the 40s the other morning upon waking.
My question is now that I am seeing I cannot connect to all 3 at once, is it an easy swap to disconnect pump from dexcom and to use the receiver for times that I have my pump and dexcom too far apart on my body to Bluetooth to each other? Pretty frustrated about the low signal strength with dexcom g7 so far.
So i originally calibrated cause it was reading lower than my blood sugar and so i think my blood was at 140ish so i calibrated and it completed the calibration but then was just reading 180. Every couple of hours ive been calibrating to try to fix it cause its not 180 and it will show that the calibration was complete but it wouldnt change my reading. It would stay at 180. I also did the thing for when calibrations are stuck. And unpaired bluetooth and turned off, deleted app, restart phone, redownload turn back on bluetooth and reconnect it and it still wont change with the calibrations.
Any ideas? Why or how to fix?
I'm having problems with receiving pop up notifications on my phone. I get notifications in the upper left hand corner of my phone with the dexcom g7 but never a pop up notification. I've checked basically everything google told me to and I see no problems but still receiving no pop up notifications. I have a samsung phone. Has anyone had this problem? If so how did you resolve it?
I frequently see the G7 app promoting me that it has not accepted a calibration even though the G7 reading changes to reflect the BG used. My t:slim X2 pump accepts the calibration no problem. Is anyone else seeing this?
Last night I got the dreaded “Pairing code error”. So I did the trick of rubbing the magnet on the edge of the sensor, concentrating on the section that the magnet sits against in the inserter. It did take about 3 cycles of trying and pairing, but that 3rd time the readings popped right up.
Hey all, i'm trying to share to the dexcom follow app but it's saying the invasion has expired, even right after it's sent. I already have two people added and haven't had this problem before. I've tryed resending it, shutting off sharing, restarting the app. Nothin has working so far. Do you know what i gotta do to fix it?
The Dropbox link currently is taking forever to download a BYOD application.
Anyone have issues in the last few weeks trying to download or receive a working download link from Dropbox?
I have been using the Inpen with Humalog for a while, having been waiting for the G7 being compatible with it, all to no avail so far. Just learned that NovoPen is compatible.
Can anyone using the NovoPen share experience in having used the NovoPen? InPen has been good without the G7 compatibility even though I wish its smartness to last longer than one year. How long does the NovoPen last? Any drawbacks?
Edit: Android, I know Inpen is only compatible with iOS for now.
This whole location-locking thing is stupid AF. I moved countries a while back (I’ve been using Dexcom since G4, currently on G6). Now I want to switch to G7 but my account has another country on it and since I moved I have to create a completely new account without all my historical data. No way to migrate, export, copy without using 3rd-party apps. I went ahead, created a new account - and now the damn thing is forcing me to use mg/dl when I’ve been using mmol/l for 10 years since diagnosis. No way to change that. And it’s obviously not a technical limitation beside the app chooses the units based on your location, so it’s not hard coded. WTF is that not a changeable setting?! I’m not used to using mg/dl, my pump is in mmol/l. I’m just hoping the sensor will actually work with it 🤦♀️
Jeez. I haven’t even started my first sensor and I’m already considering if this whole thing is worth it. And all of that is bad design choices as far as I’m concerned, not legal requirements.
Yes, I figure the location thing is a legal thing but they could have prepared a way to migrate your data if you move. They didn’t bother = that’s bad design.
I will not believe that forcing people to use specific units is a legal thing either, it’s definitely not a thing in Europe, especially since some countries use both units interchangeably! Again, some idiotic design choice.
I’m really curious if the sensors will actually work with my pump (which uses mmol/l) and my phone (which will apparently use mg/dl). I don’t see why it wouldn’t (you could choose units in g6 and it didn’t matter) but given the amount of ridiculous restrictions G7 has I would not be surprised if it failed to work just because someone at Dexcom didn’t think about it! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Hi, I cannot find calibration option in my Dexcom One Customs app. Any suggestions? I do not have +. sign on the top right, also I do not have calibration option in the settings menu. I have difference between my sensor and my GM about 2 points down and when my glucose is real ok about 5, sensor shows me low sugar about 3.
