Electricians apprentice wired in the bedside wall sconce locations and put them about a foot lower than the ceiling. I have been way too busy with so much other stuff that I didn’t even look twice at it. Now that Im shopping for fixtures, it is beyond obvious that 7 feet off the floor is not where bedside sconces go. I have spray foam insulation so relocating them is not an option.
Are there any fixtures that may hav an arm that can extend down to bedside level? Or any other ideas that may make these useable?
Hello creative people of Reddit who make this look easy but it isnt!
I am rearranging my living room and having trouble making this space functional and cozy. It is nearing summer now and during hot nights, I sleep on this couch as it is the only room with an aircon (intentionally).
Before, the couch was on the wall where the bookshelf is now and the booksgelf was directly below the aircon. Armchair was in front of the bookcase.
Thoughts and creative ideas?
P.S. I have also played with the idea of watching movies on a wall using a projector connected to my laptop. So this is a nice to have with the final layout, whatever it will be. But not the end of the world if it doesn't happen. No intention of having a tv in this room as that is already in a different area and I only need 1 tv in the house.
Thank you!
Need help figuring out how to illuminate these shelves. Ideally it would be smart lighting that can be controlled through an app. I want to be able to change color of each shelf. I also want to conceal any wiring that runs along to power the lights. Lastly, I want to hide the lights themselves as I don’t like looking at the actual LEDs. Unfortunately we don’t have valances on these shelves and so I need help to figure out how to do this. Thanks!
Just installed a kitchen island which really added to overall look of the kitchen by filling in all the empty space in the middle. Now we have a large empty wall on the side, while we could put a hutch or bar type cabinet there feel that would make things too crowded. We don't know what else to do with the empty wall short of buying a very large picture, any ideas would be welcome in addition to your ideas on colors.
It's is a 10' wall from the doorway to the pantry doors. With the island there now there is approx 4' of space between the wall and the island so would be enough room to put furniture against the wall. Just curious what others might do if this were you kitchen with the caveat the black curtains were temporary to block the sun/heat from windows.
Thanks
I got this peel and stick tile for a background in my tattoo shop since I need non-porous surfaces. Does this white tile go with this wood well enough? I’m a little blind to it all now since I’ve been staring at it for days.
The previous homeowner diy'd this fireplace, with which they'd hung their television above and placed plugs and coaux cords for that purpose.
We would like to instead hang a framed piece of vintage-style artwork with religious tones.
The problem is these plugs - I'd like to hang a large piece up there, but in order to cover them, that leaves me just about 5 inches of white space around the sides.
We aren't really up for moving the plugs, so I need either some creative ways to place artwork here or reassurance that my 5 inch border will be enough.
Note: Ignore the frames/decor that are resting on the mantel - these pieces were literally pulled out a box and placed here by my husband. We will also be eventually installing base cabinets and shelving on each side, and restaining the fireplace to better match tones in our flooring, etc.
I have this built-in desk in the bedroom. What can I do with it? I have a separate office space, so I don't need another work desk.
Any ideas? I am low on storage, yet the triangle shelf racket holders are not blocking.
Moved into a new house, we have been struggling to find a paint color that would be modern and cozy feel and tie into the tile (greyish brown tile). Would love any ideas
I had this wooden door installed, and temporarily have an adhesive roll down shade on it. I have searched for something different, but not finding what I need, and am over searching. I don’t really want privacy film on the door windows, but it looks like that will be my only option. The window frame is raised. Any suggestions??
