Is there anyway Netflix may pick up where USA gave up?
Just found out that Damnation is leaving Netflix UK or won't be able to be accessed on 18th Jan. On its Wiki page, it's said that the show will be leaving Netflix in 2023, so maybe not just the UK is affected.
Seeing that Netflix is the joint owner of this show, I find it a bit strange that it's being removed. Makes you wonder what other Netflix shows are liable to go missing.
So, if you want to watch it, then it's best to do so now.
A big theme in the series was that the farmers could not feed their families especially during the strike, even though many farmers are still sowing and harvesting as it said in an early episode many corn farmers are just sitting on their crops why not share it amongst their small group? That way no one would be tempted to sell.
I watched Damnation on tv a few years ago. I hadn’t finished the season when they did the weekly night change. I seen it on Netflix awhile ago and never bothered to watch the last few episodes. All I can say, DAMN this show knows how to pull us in!
Question. Episode 6 when Creeley is in jail, what do you think he’s thinking when Bessie shares that Sheriff Berryman is her Pa?
I think he’s making sense of why the Sheriff really rescue him from the Black Legion and what he meant by “careful where you poke that snout, cowboy”.
There was one hell of a lot of modern day corruption woven into the story, that’s was awesome but I honestly wonder if that would be why it wasn’t pursued more.
Just finished watching the season on Netflix. What a shame to not continue Damnation’s story. Was the decision to discontinue only for financial reasons, or was it political? Other shows have had a low viewership on season 1 and made no sense financially to continue but they did, because the network supported them. Other shows also have been cancelled for political reasons. Damnation has a powerful message and deep thought-provoking elements. Another show, like Deadwood, thats left to die while other stupid shows make it big.
Please please oh please netflix save damnation. We love it and really really need it to have a second season and 3rd and so on.
It's a good show. People who watch it seem to enjoy it: decent IMDB rating (7.7), 91% fresh from public on Rotten Tomatoes (critics 64%), almost all enthusiastic reviews on Google and Amazon.
Was it the time period? Bad marketing? Lack of big stars? Bad luck?
Why didn't it hit?
For wanting a dad like the turners had minus the physical abuse and complete lack of empathy. That resolve and that will are qualities that are best learned early. Unlearning short-sightedness, impatience, and singular mindedness..would not be am issue with a father like that. I think empathy is good if you can control it..if you cant, like me, people try you too much on many levels
I have watched an episode a night, for the entire series, thinking it was a one season/limited show. Tonight I was ready to see who's blood it was, and where Amelia and Connie went. I was ready to find out if Connie was going to get her revenge, after finding out everything. I was excited to see if Creeley and Bessie went off together, or if they went their separate ways to their own lives.
And when I opened Netflix to see that the new episode hadn't downloaded, I freaked out. There is so much I won't get to see now. I really liked this show. I'm not used to shows set in this time, and I really enjoyed seeing old timey America portrayed in the show.
And so I didn't have time to get emotionally ready to watch 13RW, but I can't just eat dinner without watching my shows!
I hope all reconsider on up coming series, really enjoyed every episode kept me glued to the TV.
And can I say Goddamn I am pissed this show’s not coming back? This show reminds me of the early seasons of GOT in just how ruthless it is with killing main characters. I mean, DL, Amelia, and Melvin’s deaths were just something else. On top of that it dealt with the sobering reality of class struggle which is something everyone wants to just pretend doesn’t exist. Netflix not picking this show up for at the very least another season is a downright crime.
Hello. At the beginning I want to say veery sorry if I do something wrong it's my first Time Ever posting something on reddit. Also if somebody asked it before but I don't know how to check it fast. So. Do you have any proposition of other series that I could watch that would be close to this masterpiece? I like the western style. I've watched Godless and I like it but in my opinion it's not close to Damnation. PS I think that Amelie (Seth's wife) is beatiful. Seriously. Does anybody also thinks that way? :D
What’s you opinion on the cancellation of the series? Damnation was with a large margin my favorite “Netflix Original”, I I’am super sad to this day they cancelled it just like Marco POlo, but the question is, why ? Was the show Shit and I didn’t notice, or maybe it was too much reality and politics for an America TV series?
Without spoiler please can someone tell me if this show ended on a cliffhanger or if it's good for a 1 season watch. Please and thanks
So is season 2 actually going to happen or has the dream died?
Can anyone please tell me what his haircut is called it looks so good
I watched the first 3 episodes and I noticed the fourth episode 4 wasn't available. Is there somewhere else I can watch it?
When I was speaking with Netflix on the phone about when we would possibly hear about a season 2 decision, they said the best way to request a second season is with the request page (which I will link here). Also that the more requests for a season 2 directed to @netflix in social media... especially on twitter, would help. I requests “Damnation season 2” in all 3 fields. Also, the guy on the phone said that it was a Netflix original it usually gets a second season. Not sure if I should believe that or not. https://help.netflix.com/en/titlerequest
