Ready for the downvotes, since Chris is not one of the artists that’s currently circle-jerked by this sub.
The obvious answer is Conway but I just listened to"Border Lord" LP by Kris Kristofferson and I believe the crown is his. I'm sure there is a TON of nominees I don't know that exist. Would like to get some female nominees as well. Maybe I'll put together a DJ Creep E set or burn a CD for the winners.
Great shows everyone will enjoy!
Hi /country. I need y'alls help.
Many years ago a friend or mine recommended me a country song that had a music video. I can't remember the artist or the songs name but I do remember the MV and what the song kinda said.
The song was about how to make it in the music business. It started with the singer talking about first you buy a guitar, then you start practicing with your friends.
The singer had black hair hand a beard, and it was singing/narrating the events of making it with your band.
Song was about years between 07-13
Any clues or help is much appreciated
Really great for discovery.
Modern country is all right an all, but if I'm being honest the vast majority of it feels ingenious and not true to the spirit of old country. Idk it feels like the patriotism got misunderstood as nationalism and now it just sit right with me. How country went to bashing on politicans, loving thy neighbor, speaking out against the injustice faced by the working class by the government and upperclass, and talking about the issues of the prison system treating people like dogs. I guess I just miss outlaw country Idk, sorry if this seems a bit pretentious and preachy.
I want to give country music a chance. I haven't listened to much before. Genres I like are rock, hip hop, blues, funk, jazz, electronic, r and b, and a bit of pop
I like that real slow vibe and those little segments where the electric guitar gets its spotlight.
Was perusing random Spotify lists today and hit on Alan Jackson's "Where were you when the World Stopped Turning " and after not hearing it for at least 15 years, and my God if it didn't make me cry like a baby. Any one have a song like this that completely hits you in the feelings, cause you are not expecting it?
these are the playlists i have full of albums that i'm gonna listen to
It’s funny, the song that got me into country was Colder Weather by the Zac Brown Band. Got really into the pop/bro country sound of the early 2010s after that. But now, I can’t stand new mainstream country at all. Went to Texas Roadhouse the other night and couldn’t stand the playlist.
It’s funny to see where I started and where I’m at now. The most recent song added onto my playlist was a David Allen Coe song and I named my first dog after Hank jr. For years I turned up my nose at the Turnpike Troubadours for whatever reason and they’re now probably my favorite band.
Don't want you to miss this out :)
Going back into Brad Paisley's older albums I found these two which I really liked and I feel like I haven't heard anything really with the same vibe and sadness he conveys in his songs. Do y'all know any more either by Brad Paisley or other artists that are like either of these two songs?
