I just picked up a new lens for wildlife photography and I was hoping to start getting some shots of birds on the water in the Cleveland area (<25 mi radius). Does anybody have recommendations for bodies of water with water fowl that don’t have buildings in the background?
That starts at 1pm or later on Sundays? Thank you in advance
Giving “no u” energy.
My family and I elected not to go after the events that unfolded last year. I read bits and pieces about an incident with a 12 y/o in a comment section of a post*.
I heard sirens downtown around 9pm or so, not sure if this is related. The morning news had nothing negative to say, so I just wanted to see what actually happened.

Is there anywhere in Cleveland you can go to get Christmas presents professionally wrapped?!
I remember going to the Beachwood mall when I was younger and there was a whole station set up.
Now that seems like a thing of the past but my wrapping is still horrendous
HELP
Hello, looking for recommendations on a handyman or company that could repair the weather stripping on external doors and storm doors on west side of Cleveland.
We have 3 external doors that don’t seal properly and we’ve tried a few different door and window companies and they will only do a complete replacement. Attempted a few fixes myself and feel like I’ve made it worse.
Looking for some recommendations. Thanks in advance.
Felton Road in South Euclid. Sounded like 6 gunshots imo. Be careful everyone.
I just feel like I see it all the time on here but it seems like mostly hearsay. Not actual scanners
Wife's been bugging me to try both for years. I've always shut her down. I wanna get her a gift card for somewhere in the Cleveland area, preferably West Side. What do I need to know about botox in order to buy the proper amount in a gift card. And where should I send her? Thanks in advance!
Who would you guys consider the top 10 Cleveland sports villians?
Ie. Draymond green, Manziel, Curry, Big Ben...
Does anyone have a recording of/link to the old radio ad for the Hudson Haunted House? This would have played on WMMS in the 80s, and features a person yelling “HUD-son!” in a funny way I’ve never forgotten. Anyone know what I’m talking about?
I have to work a half day Christmas Eve, and because of that and other conflicts, my family is doing Christmas on New Year’s instead. I have friends coming over Christmas Day for Chinese food and movies, and I may or may not go to church at some point, but I would like to find somewhere to be of service the rest of the day on Christmas Eve. I’m signed up with HandsOn BVU and Greater Cleveland Volunteers and nothing is coming up on the 24th. I’m taking suggestions.
More specifically the EZ Pass gates. Can someone tell me why the “ez pass accepted” 1. Is way too far to the left as to be easily visible. 2. Requires you to slow to <5mph before it flashes accepted.
Shouldn’t this thing be mounted so as to be clearly visible enough and quick enough to smoothly glide through at 10-15mph to keep traffic moving? Or perhaps I am over complicating it and should assume it’s going to read and not wait for the go-ahead?
I know not everyone is a fan but I was kinda hoping for some snow this weekend, anyone have any? I do feel for the travelers having to deal with the huge amounts forecasted for snowbelt though, pretty to look at but sucks to drive in
I’m back home for the holidays and always get Dave’s when I’m here. It’s nostalgic and usually the subs were always super good.
Not anymore…
Now, the bread sucks, they don’t give you a pickle, Dave’s sauce is definitely different. They don’t put as much of the ingredients on the sandwiches. They are smaller, lighter and over all they fuckin suck.
Super disappointed man. I used to love that place!
Hi everyone,
I am thinking about a weekend trip to your lovely city next weekend and see several posts about the zoo Christmas lights. Drive thru options are sold out, but the walking part is not. I was just wondering how long it usually takes on average and if it's super crowded. Thanks!
I graduated college back in 2022 with a bachelors of Computer Engineering. I'm really really really trying to avoid being a slave to Jeff Bezos in an Amazon warehouse (and I'm not even sure I could physically keep up based on how work conditions in those slavery traps are described) and avoid factory work. My ideal is an entry level software development career, but that's nearly hopeless. Id also settle for IT, but I'm also looking at clerical and administrative roles at this point and just being an office dude.
I've been trying the "usual" recommendations. Progressive has squat diddly hiring right now. I'm waiting for the Cuyahoga County PRC to finally email me about a civil service exam for an administrative assistant role but they said it could take "several weeks" to finalize the exam contents and get the email to me. The city of Cleveland is hiring squat diddly without years of experience. The state of Ohio is hiring nothing but highway repair jobs. I have a few applications open at Cleveland Clinic and Metrohealth but haven't heard back on those yet.
Sherwin Williams doesn't seem to have anything. I put a few applications in for University Hospitals roles. I've tried looking at Keybank to maybe be a teller or something, but they have no openings close to me and I don't know what else I'd be a fit for at Keybank. I've also tried a few local credit unions for teller positions without much luck. I've put a few applications in at Medical Mutual but nothing heard back.
What employers are out there, that aren't a factory or Amazon slave house, are actually hiring, and will consider anybody with a Bachelor's degree but limited specific experience?
Edit: for any future comments coming in, I appreciate everyones suggestions. I understand this isn't a great area for tech, and my lack of internships shot myself in the foot. It sucks, and I can't change the past, and while that's still my ideal career, I really just want some kinda job in an office type environment with okay enough pay at this point.
I need one with a track record of success who lives in the midwest.
Finished basement that looks the same as a home (recess lighting, tile Floors, full private bathroom, half kitchen with a full sized private refrigerator/freezer...windows) Very clean. The area is separate from the main house with its own separate entrance and locking door.
Includes - Laundry, large bedroom, kitchen area, walk in (large) closet/storage, full clean private bathroom. Central Heat and Air. The rental includes Electric, Gas, Heat, Water, and Garbage
I am the owner and live upstairs, very quiet and courteous, mostly keep to myself, I believe strongly in privacy. My entire career was spent in the criminal justice field. I do not care about your credit score or your age. However, I am looking for someone that has NO criminal background. I will do a criminal background check (no cost to you)
Very well mannered decent guy ... I am only looking for a strictly plutonic roommate...nothing else !
The rent is negotiable depending on your situation. 700-800 Everything is included.
Does any know anybody or any places that would be open to accepting food/plates? We have so much food and desert left over from Thanksgiving and I’m not wasting it so if anybody has any suggestions, I’d appreciate them. Thanks!
Have some friends coming into town for New Year’s Eve. Any recs on a nice dinner and cocktails afterwards?
Hi, Grew up in Ohio 80’s & 90’s and use to visit Coventry in Cleveland. Is it still a thing? Looking for places like that, or what it use to be like, to check out and see some stuff without a Starbucks in the corner.
Thank you in advance
Hello, my name is Ben and I'm a librarian at the Brook Park branch of CCPL.
From 1-5 pm on the last Saturday of every month I host a MtG program called Magic: the Casualing. We meet in the large meeting room the Brook Park branch to hang out, play commander, maybe draft cube and just generally have good time. This is an all ages casual event, so there's no prizes or anything. I will have pop and snacks and there will be music playing.
I'll also have the OSU-Michigan game playing on the big screen projector.
Sign up at the link above or just show up at 1pm. 6155 Engle Road.
So yesterday I was working at South Park mall for Black Friday. At one point there was a SWARM of police officers and security guards charging through the mall and out the exits with tons of police cars and ambulances and a ton of people running behind them. We were trying to figure out what happened, and the one security guard we asked said something about a baby choking, but the other people said it was bleeding and might have died. Later on some EMT’s came by with a stretcher with more police and ambulances, but no one left on the stretcher.
Does anyone know what really happened? I’ve been trying to search the news but nothing has come up yet.
Just moved here a few months ago and want to explore and do all things Christmas-y. A few things on the list: lights at the zoo, Christmas Story house, botanical gardens for their lights. What else? We love things like German Christmas Markets. Have done a pop up bar in Lakewood. Should mention we are mid 30s, no kids.
Looking forward to all your hidden (or not) gems to explore!
