Wondering if you guys could help evaluate the value of an estate 1962 Jeep…, currently apart, lol

Hi all and thank goodness for wonderful communities such as yours.

My father has long passed and was the possessor of 1962 since I was a child. He bought somewhere in the 70s. It was in good condition then and he was of the generation you took really good care of your automobiles.

In his later years, he decided to tear down the Jeep and make it into a show jeep. He never made it and now it is basically in parts with two major parts being the undercarriage he was working on (pictured below) and the body that goes on top he never touched. The body which I didn’t get a photo of unfortunately was original paint, reupholstered seats back when he got it, and the body is from what I have seen on the sub near cherry if not cherry condition. The only flaw I know regarding the body is he doesn’t have the original tail gate. The all too common rusted out box under the passenger seat is not rusted out. It is just paint scratched up from stored items.

It’s not perfectly original as you likely can see in the pic. For the body, he put some fiberglass fender flairs (white) and installed an 8-track player with two small 3” speakers on the front dash. Otherwise, with excluding the wheels and what you guys can see in the picture… I think it is all original minus the tailgate which may be an orginala replacement or not (sorry guys…., I’m doing my best here).

Mileage…. I don’t know. It’s probably up there in the 100-150k hence the rebuilt engine in the photo. I’m not sure if I even had access (in another State) I could get for sure accurate information???

Currently the only information we have is a friend of the family mentioned $1,000 for it. What do you guys think for fair market value?

Air down and Take it easy and allow your tires to grip that rocky terrain. This approach will help you conquer your obstacles consistently—sometimes, it’s not all about speed. Remember, low gear in terrain of New Mexico, a steady and gradual pace is key #yeahbuddy #lifesbetterin4lo @4lonewmexico

CJ7 Marauder

New to the group, but hoping someone might be able to help with intel. I have an ‘83 CJ7 with the original paint and decals. The hood decal says “Marauder”. I’ve never seen another like this and haven’t found any details online. A couple Jeep specialty shops have suggested it was possibly a deal-installed “package” when sold new. Anyone have any experience with this?

Debating about selling due to lack of space, but would some background in case it’s something special.

My new to me ‘81 CJ7

Took the plunge. It runs pretty well, but started bogging down today after I got gas. Any suggestions on what engine to upgrade it to? It has the 2.5 4cyl and the transmission needs some work I think. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Trying to get pop's old 1967 Jeep running ... not very mechanical

Hi - this reddit was recommended ... I'm still trying to figure out how to diagnose this old jeep I just inherited from pops. It's a 1967 4cy and it'll start up if I spray starter in the air intake but it wont stay.

I hear the little clicking under the seat which I assume is the fuel pump. Outside of that, can anyone recommend a resource that can help me diagnose or walk me through a logical process of getting this thing running? (no mechanical experience :) Or ... our local jeep place wants $175 to diagnose for an hour. probably worth it .. but trying to save money! Very much appreciate a look and some guidance!

Where’s a good place to get a soft top

I have a 1980 CJ5 and I only have a bikini top for it. I would like to drive it as it gets cooler. I’m located in Michigan so a fully closed top would be preferred. I’ve been looking everywhere online for one but there either not compatible or are over 1200+

Gonna need a rebuild eventually but back for now

Few months ago lost power on the road, pulled over then when I tried to go heard a loud rattling and couldn't go above 40 mph.

Done a lot of work myself but couldn't figure it out so took it to a shop I trust, they replaced rear main seal, valve gasket and other seals/gaskets cuz it was apparently spewing oil everywhere. Also changed the fuel pump (which I'd changed just last year, and two years before that, piece of cheap shit).

It runs, but gonna need a rebuild eventually cuz it's got blow back, and the crankshaft is actually imprinted with an old seal that rusted from where it sat unused for years at my dad's house.

Plan is to enjoy it while I can and save up and just buy a remanufactured engine to dump in it in a few years.

84 TDI swapped gets a new turbo

I removed the Holset HE200WG 5CM for a European GTD1756 from PowerTDI in Poland. It's capable of 34 PSI, but I have it at 30. 280 full flow Jarod March injectors and I should be a little over 200 HP and 380-400 LB FT to the crank.

Did HEI Swap. Won’t start. Now Popping

Did the HEI swap today. Went to fire it up and it cranks but won’t start. Pulled cap and saw I was 180* out of tdc. Fixed it and no changes in starting. Then, it started making a popping sound as in the video.

Sandy Jeep got a new pace maker for her old heart

83CJ with 1966 ford 289 guts. Jeep mod is based off the Novak guide to installing a ford v8.

I’ve had great success with this mod and most of my issues once I got the frame stable have been engine reliability related. MSD electronic ignition and distribution seem to have me getting more horsepower and roughly 15-16 mpg. It hurt my heart a little to add the first onboard computer but since my sensible car has moved to my daughter then this is indeed my daily driver. Going to stretch the legs on a highway trip this coming weekend and see how it goes. Wish me luck. 🍀

CJ2A PTO

Does anyone know a resource that can help me identify the specs for a female spline that fits the PTO on a cj2a. Either where to buy or the measurements to make it yourself.
