Chronos is an atmospheric RPG that chronicles one young man’s lifelong quest to save his homeland from a great evil. Central to this quest is an ancient labyrinth, which holds the secrets necessary to restore life and peace to his home. However, the architects of this labyrinth designed it to open only once a year. The labyrinth is a test, and each time the hero fails he is cast out and must wait one year to return.

And I loved the whole experience! Definitely up there with my favorite vr games so far since finally having time to jump in the last couple of months even though I bought my rift over a year before my life had settled enough for me to hook it up. Beat it at lvl 59 age 38, dying once to the dragon cause I didn't realize I couldn't heal while he was present lol. Initially I had some trouble before the cyclops, but once I got the hang of the gameplay and stronger during the game I ended up plowing through everything and just having a blast. Really looking forward to the sequel, so far I've played this, lone echo, edge of nowhere, hellblade vr, and started asgard's wrath. Anyone have any suggestions for other games I might wanna check out? I have moss, but I'm not sure I like the way its setup though I'll give it a legitimate chance before deciding.
Difficult to beat the game in heroic. I thought many times I would not get it.
It is a pity that I have played it so long ago, we could exchange experiences, but unfortunately this subforum is dead!
Something very strange has happened while solving the red puzzle un the labirynth, the character died! And that should not happen because while moving the blocks the character supossedly is motionless.
My decision was to go to the destroyed base and disconnect the dreamers. I don't know if that was the cause. Anybody else had this issue?
Hi, i arrive too late to Chronos but I have just beaten it and I wanted to share my thoughts. The game is wonderful with an awful ending for my taste (I prefer happy endings). Anyway, I would not have beaten it without help, I wonder how did you manage to solve the 3 puzzles in the labyrinth, the yellow, the blue and the red, and in that order, how can anyone know that you have to solve first the yellow, get a block, solve the blue one, get a piece and solve the red one. I find it very strange that anyone without help can imagine that. Anyway, if people are solving that alone then congratulations because you are genious!
I am trying now the first person mod explained here https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/721bpd/how_to_play_chronos_in_1stperson/
But i don't know how to adjust the position of the camera.
What a big game! It is challenging even in the fights!
I have no chance of getting a VR system in my country as they are not sold here and buying from abroad would be prohibitively expensive. But I am very interested in the story of this game and the Remnant game from the same dev team that was recently released. Is there anywhere I can read the story of this game and setting, or a video I could watch in order to understand these things and better appreciate the writing for Remnant?
I've been trying to archive as much information I could find in Remnant (documents, diaries, notes, etc) to better orientate those that are curious about the lore of this world.
However considering how restrictive it is to get into Chronos since it's a Oculus VR exclusive, at time of this post, it would help alot if some of you guys who already own the game to share screenshots and short videos of conversations between the portagonist of that game with key characters of that game.
To keep it clear, there is no rush on this, as long you guys can offer the aformentioned screenshots and videos, I'll add to a folder and later on I`ll try to see if I can add it to a wikipage so other players can rely upon for their information.
If you guys can do this by yourselves in the Chronos Wiki that would be even better!
Hey everyone,
Chronos's sequel, Remnant: From the Ashes is now out and has got a pretty big following over at /r/remnantgame. People are trying to piece together the lore of the game, but a lot of them didn't play Chronos due to it being a more restricted market and just not as well-known. I'm wondering if anyone feels like they really have the lore down in Chronos and wants to combine it with the lore from Remnant to fill out the timeline better.
Here's a pretty good timeline of what we know just from Remnant: https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/cx2f5p/remnant_timeline/
I submitted Chronos to speedrun.com along with my own speedrun of the game! Currently, I’m the only moderator on the site, so if anyone would like to help me out or post your speedruns this would be the place.
Thank you and good luck!

Guide by /u/Maeno-san
Hello! I wrote this guide back in 2016 right after this game came out. I never got around to finishing all of the extra stuff that I wanted to document, so it sat on my hard drive until now (mid-2019). It goes 100% (I think?) from start to finish for the main game, but does not include much guidance on the combat side of things (which can be very difficult at times). If/when I play through CHRONOS again, I will add more. If my guide is confusing at some points or is missing anything you think should be included, feel free to let me know and I'll try to update it. Hope you enjoy []-)
This is a no frills, low spoilers 100% (probably) guide to the third person action/adventure game CHRONOS for Oculus Rift (and maybe Quest, someday). Hopefully it will help without spoiling much if you get stuck on a puzzle.
Credit to agumonkk's video walkthrough for helping me document details so I didn't have to take off my headset every 5 seconds while writing this

+PART II: THE PAN+
+PART III: THE LABYRINTH+
+PART IV: THE DRAGON+
There are multiple difficulties. Choose the one that you think is right for you.
You are chosen by your people to go do stuff in this alternate world. Every time you see a Final Fantasy-esque Crystal (called Stones), you can use them to save, teleport to other Stones, and as respawn points. You will have to solve puzzles and defeat many difficult enemies. When you die, you age by one year and respawn at the last Stone you encountered.
There are four stats you can choose to build: Strength, Agility, Arcane, and Vitality.
DO NOT spread your stats around evenly. It's most effective to put everything into either strength or agility, based on whether you plan to dodge or block, and then however much you need in Vitality for health, and then more magic as your character ages
As you age (from multiple deaths), the cost of increasing strength and agility will become higher and the cost of increasing magic power will lower. If your primary stat (STR or AGI) is becoming too costly, it may be beneficial to switch to improving your magic instead.

In the twilight realm, continue along the path that appears as you approach it until you get to the first teleporter. use it after killing the twilight pawns
There is a locked door to the right here. After defeating the enemies (including the new twilight drummer), you can stand on the white raised part of the floor to open the door (these act like the previous latched doors)
There is another locked door that needs another labyrinth rune. For now, continue to the next teleporter.
Fight the magic swordsman and other enemies. continue
continue to a large round area. step inside, and you have to fight four tall swordsmen one, then one more, then two at the same time.
**Take the heavy container** It contains the second labyrinth rune. Combine it with the first and continue through the next teleporter.
continue to another door that you can stand in front of to unlock. (These will be referenced as latched doors from now on)
Go back to the lit door that we passed earlier
**Use the labyrinth runes 1 and 2 to open the door** continue through the teleporter
continue to a tile puzzle. This symbolizes the path starting immediately in front of you. Past the chasm, you should see three different colored areas.
**Connect the tiles from the start to yellow** The bottom left corner should be shaped like an s, and the bottom middle should be a 1
take the path in front of you until you reach the yellow area, fighting the enemies along the way
continue past the enemies and past the yellow teleporter
**Take the tile piece** then go back through the yellow teleporter back to the tile puzzle
**Connect the tiles to complete the path from start to blue/purple**
The purple tile should be on the mid right, the backwards L tile in the bottom right position, and the r tile in the mid bottom. It's also possible to complete the path from yellow to blue, then take the teleporter back to yellow and go that way. Either way works (I think)
continue on the path until you get to the purple area
you'll have to fight two tall swordsmen and a drummer here. Try to take out the drummer and any pawns first before the tall guys catch up to you.
**Take the heavy container** This has labyrinth piece 3. Take the purple teleporter back to the tile puzzle.
To create the red path, you'll have to use every piece except for the blue/purple piece. That piece and the empty space will be in the top-right and bottom-left positions.
It should look something like this:
--|
|__--|
|
|---
Once you get it, continue on the long path past the enemies until you get to the red area.
**Use the combined labyrinth runes 1, 2, and 3 to open the door**
**Kill the Guardian of the Labyrinth** GOOD LUCK
Talk to the tree again back near stone 3
When you're ready, drop down near the tree's roots
Go into the first room, where there are three other doors. The one to the far left is a dead end for now.
The middle room leads to a new enemy: the tree archer, and past that is a locked door and a room with a computer terminal. Read up, then
**Take the box next to the computer terminal** Inside it is a rectangular lens.
Backtrack to the other door that we haven't been through yet (far right), to see a tree chopper. This guy has a large metal sword thing and almost always gives me frame rate issues for some reason.
Continue to the next room
**Place the lens on the tripod** View the characters: +IET
In the next room, defeat the enemies and line up the pillars in the same order as the previously seen symbols to open the path. Continue
Fight more enemies until you reach a fork with a shiny thing at the end of one of the rooms
**Take the empty gas tank** Watch out for the two archers in this room
Go back to the hallway and continue until you get to a room with a large cylinder marked FUEL
**Fill up the fuel tank** Open the latched door (shortcut) and head back to the room with the three doors.
Head through the far left door
**Use the fuel tank** Head into the elevator to get to Ward 17
Continue until you reach the fork.
To open a shortcut, head to the right and follow the path, open a large door and continue until you get to another large door
Open the latched door (shortcut) to get back to the giant glowing stone from the very beginning.
Backtrack down to the fork and go up this time. Continue until you reach the room at the end. Heal up before interacting with anything. GOOD LUCK
Hey all, I'm gonna try to do something absolutely insane tomorrow on my stream at about 10am PST - No level up playthrough with age bonuses only, semi-speedrun. Tentatively planning to last about 5 hours give or take!
https://www.twitch.tv/ondantrolene/
Quick self-promo: My stream is a charity stream for Extra-Life benefiting Seattle Children's Hospital. I pocket none of the subs/bits/donations for myself
Does anyone know why my weapon will glow and then he'll rub it against his shield? It does this during combat and stops me from fighting. It's absolutely maddening. I'm almost to the point of just putting this game down and giving it a bad review. I'm not pushing any button. He just stops. Rubs his weapon on the shield while it glows and then gives the attacker a free shot at me. I thought at first maybe it was just the axe but the sword does it, too. Bad game design from what I can see.

Appears to be in the same universe as Chronos. No mention of VR, though. Out next year.
Hi! I just got back to chronos after a few months of a hiatus. All my reflexes are there and I can still parry as hell but I cannot remember some of the controls. Can someone please post a guide about the controls. I am playing with the oculus controllers. I just cant remember how to activate the arcane power once it is charged.
So I know 80 is the age cap, but can anyone confirm that there is a level cap? I heard it was 70.
EDIT: Yep, its 70.
Happy to announce that in the latest patch we have added Touch support as game pad.
I just got Chronos and I cannot, for the life of me, parry consistently. I get the general idea - block, press 'y' - you parried, congrats. I just seem incapable of timing it properly - and the slower the enemy, the worse my parribility (ability to parry lol).
I often find that the difference between a parry and a fail parry is the blocking at a seemingly unreasonable time. For a given attack animation, i can 'parry' to what would honestly look like a parry to me, but it just doesn't work. Am I missing some sort of visual queue? I can tell that the point of impact on the shield is much too late. I don't see anyone else complaining about this, so I am probably just terrible. Any help and/or suggestions?
Recently, I asked if anyone had links to concept art and the like, but got no answer. So, I searched for it myself and found some interesting stuff. If anyone is interested, here's every concept artwork and making-of tidbit I've found.

Behind the scenes
My first several attempts to run Chronos (Oculus Rift) had audio up through the menus but nothing at the first cut-scene. At some point -- after at least 5 tries -- I got audio in the initial cut-scene and through the first few non-interactive scenes. Once I was able to unlock a computer I got through one log message before the WHOLE audio cut out again. Exiting and going back in doesn't get audio back. I've seen other people posting the same problems -- going back for a year -- without resolution.
So how is anyone getting this thing to work?!? Without audio it's a pretty crappy experience.
(Windows 10, Oculus Rift and a really high-end computer)
I absolutely LOVED this game! So much so that I wanted to go back and explore every detail. That is hard to do when the camera is locked and 3rd-person. So, I wrote a script that would let me do what I wanted. Take a relaxing stroll around unbothered by anything. Basically, it puts the camera on the player's head (and there's some other stuff). Here it is if anyone would like to try. You can turn off and on the parts you want. I recommend not using this until you finish the game once as intended.

Hey guys. I just picked up chronos recently and it has been a lot of fun. However, i need help.
I just beat the many-faces boss and I'm ready to advance in the game. The problem is I believe the place I am supposed to go next. I watched the beginning of the walk through tutorial on YouTube to see where the entrance was to the labyrinth and on their walk through the gated entrance was open and in my game it is closed.
I have already gone through the ward with my access card but clearing out that section has done nothing towards my progress.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Please help.
Here is the tutorial showing the place where I am supposed to go, but the door is closed in my game: https://youtu.be/gg0A-kTFVwQ
Killed the blacksmith and now he always aggros me. Any way to get him friendly again so I can give him the eye?
I know most people played through this game when it first came out and the sub has been pretty dead since, but I only found the time to beat it just now! In a few places I got stuck for a while, either because I hadn't really figured out the combat (failing to dodge, using wrong weapon, levelling up wrong stats, etc.) or because I missed a possible interaction (like a lot of people, I missed that you could break the queen's scepter into two parts by activating it). Anyone else late to the party? What were your difficult parts in this game, and what were your impressions of the ending?
Also, I was considering doing a screenshot-and-text walkthrough of the game which could explain things a bit more than the video walkthrough, and also possibly a list of hints (in Sierra-hint-book style with progressively more blatant hints). Would there be an audience for these kind of things? Where do you think is the best place to publish such things (maybe the Walkthrough page on the Gamepedia wiki)? Let me know. Thanks. :)
Alright, follow me on this.
At the beginning of a game, when you poke the first terminal in front of the Red Crystal of Saving, the terminal reports that your access level is "user". From that point on, I was convinced that I'd somehow get administrative access at some point later and use that to either get past a seemingly impassable roadblock, or use it to beat the big bad boss.
I've seen almost every plot-twist coming. I'm still super-duper sure that there's something to this, because so far this is the only prediction I've made to myself about Chronos that hasn't come true.
My conspiracy-senses went on high alert after the final boss. I reloaded the save and noticed that I had 3 inert dragon hearts and 200ish HP, which is what I had when I ended the fight. My age and so on were also consistent with what I'd expect if the game, for some reason, decided to save /after/ the final boss. It even spawned me in the doorway to the hospital room, not in front of the crystal! When was dying in the battle before, I kept spawning at the crystal! This sort of stuff generally doesn't happen unless there's more to do.
I immediately started running back through the old areas, all the way back to the boat, even. On the way there, the room with the terminal access key on the floor had /another key/! I picked it up and it was the same as the one I used to get into the terminal in the executive's office.
I ran around looking for different terminals to use it on, but ultimately could only find the one I already used it on. This is where stuff starts to fall apart and why I'm asking for help -- I used the key on the terminal, and it worked again, but the key went right inside the first one; the models just clipped through each other. This screams that it's a bug to me, but I'm still baffled by why this happened and why the game saved after the boss fight.
I went and did the boss again, but it was the same stuff as before. I lost so I don't know if there's new dialogue after beating it again, but I'm still really certain that there's more to this.
Other supporting things: Error code 88 obviously means "You can't do that because you're already in The Matrix". That was there from the get-go, so the ending where the guy puts the thing on your head isn't what it seems; clearly you either woke up for a brief moment, or he puts it on and doesn't /truly/ activate it since you're already in it and he's just messing with you. Obviously he'd get an 88 too, right? To further complicate things, I still have no idea what "executive order 13" is. The second key didn't enable it (Error 88), and I don't remember any special references to 13 anywhere else in the game.
Additionally, I still have some unused items, such as the princess' locket. No idea where that goes.
So, that's where I'm at now: Utterly convinced that there's another ending, but entirely stuck on where to go next. Anyone wanna put their detective caps on?
EDIT: I just realized that the burning arm thing is because the character's waking up and the voice is the guy talking to him from outside! Your arm burns as you wake up because you've had an IV needle in you for a gazillion years! The vines around the arm are from the added restraints that the IV drip needs to secure its self. Oh gosh all of this was fake. o_____o
Snap. That may also mean that there's no way out even if you get admin access.. Unleeeeesssss you become all-powerful inside the virtual realm while you're in it! O_O! Oh boy someone please figure out how to get admin access. I'm practically foaming at the mouth. o_o
EDIT2: Oh gosh I just realized that when you're laying in the bed that you have a Labyrinth shirt on! Why would that be on you, unless Mister Burny-Hands McGee is a weirdo who likes redressing brave 76-year-old adventurers and the clothes are fireproof for some reason?!
I've collected a bunch of Dragon Oil items on my journey, but have absolutely no idea what they are used for. Anybody know?
I just hit level 70 at age 43 and my experience bar disappeared. Can anyone confirm that there is indeed a level cap at 70? I've been putting all my points in agility assuming that I could keep leveling up as I aged but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I'd just like to know if this is something others have experienced as well. I've recently defeated the Cyclops, but to get there I apparently did things a way the game did not intend. As far as I've found out online, you're supposed to find the first stone for the mirror puzzle to get into the bookshelf and retrieve the key that allows you access to a room where you can find the second stone to fight the Cyclops. The order in which I did things: I found the key lying somewhere (don't remember exactly where, but my guess is on the floor by the bookshelf) and used it to get the stone for the Cyclops. I didn't go there yet, because I remembered a portal in the bookshelf and wanted to check that first, so I found the stone for that and made my way inside. Fought through the army of toy soldiers and ended up in a dead end with nothing to do. I walked around and checked between books, but nothing. After searching online, I found out that there's supposed to be the key there, which you need to push off the shelf.
So is this a bug? Did the game maybe get confused with the state of its triggers after I died? Or is this related to the difficulty level I chose (the normal or middle one, I forgot what the game calls it)? I was really disappointed when I realized I skipped around, because the sequence in which the game was designed is pretty awesome, and I didn't get to experience it that way.
I noticed that no one has mentioned stat caps so I just wanted to provide some input and start some discussion on this for the try hards out there like myself. So I'm not exactly sure where the stats started falling off, but I was leveling primarily Agility and Vitality in sync with a 10 point spread (so agi at 40 and vit at 30). I noticed around 40 agi that the amount of damage points you get per point fell from 3 per point to 1 or 2 per point. I also noticed around 30-35 vit that the amount of health you get per point fell from 20 to 15. This indicates to me that it could be a soft cap on these stats. So I've started investing my points into Strength since Arcane is still 2 attribute points per point (not sure if that goes down at a certain age but I'm still testing these theories). This is what I've got so far, rough I know but it's a work in progress. Any input is welcome!
