Here's a shot of my Canyon Grizl CF 6 (size M) in front of Melk Abbey along the EuroVelo 6 route through Austria.
Replacing my rear shifter cable on neuron 6 / I put a 2100mm through the internal routing and it’s too short. Odd. Anyone else using 2300Mm ? Maybe I just got a one off cable in my stash? Let me know.
Has anyone attached trailers like Thule /Croozer to their Roadlite? Or is there anything that goes generally against doing so?
My research so far says, I would need to replace the quick release skewers with a through axle like this one from RAP https://robertaxleproject.com/product/154-167mm-1-0-mm-thread-for-hitch-mount-trailer/#reviews, which should allow for installation of the adapter to mount the trailer.
Any experiences or advices are welcome.
I chatted with Canyon support, they said it fits a certain Abus lock but had no idea which one. I have tried the Abus Bordo 6500 in 110cm and 90cm, and neither fit. I might try 85cm but doubt it is much different. Has anyone had luck figuring this out?
I'm thinking about applying a layer of matte clear 2K finish over the existing black parts of my 2024 Canyon Grail. I have the Grail CF SL 7 AXS in the "Quicksand" color scheme, and I was expecting a matte finish on the front part of the bike, as is the case with all other color schemes of the Grail. However, to my surprise, it's glossy, which I've found a bit disappointing from the beginning.
After riding it for six months, the black glossy paint has started to show a lot of swirl marks. I'm considering spray painting the black parts (fork and front part of the frame) with a matte clear coat. A friend mentioned it's relatively easy to apply a matte clear coat over a glossy one, which got me thinking.
I'm considering using Spraymax 2K matte clear coat, but I'm unsure if it will work well or if it might damage the existing coat. Does anyone have experience using Spraymax 2K clear coat on Canyon factory paint? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!
I looked for Endurace CF 7 and Ultimate CF SL 7 (and all cheaper options from both groups).. Both in my budget.
It is very unlikely that I will take part in any race this year, but Ultimates category suggest that maybe I should.
I am looking for a bike for daily cycling (but not commuting) on flat roads and cycling lines + from 2 to 4 times a year few days on Swiss Alpine roads.
It would be my first road bicyckle, but not a first bicyckle (mostly XC MTB and hybrid/fitness).
Hey everyone,
I just bought this bike: Canyon Endurace 7 AL.
Now I'm here wondering if I made the wrong decision...
Here’s the other bike I’m considering: Canyon Endurace CF 7.
This bike has the same exact spec; however, it has integrated cable management, and the frame is carbon instead of aluminum. This change makes the bike €800 more expensive.
This would be my first bike ever. Will I constantly think I ordered the wrong bike and should've just got the carbon one instantly? What do you all think? Should I stick with the aluminum frame, or would the carbon frame be worth the extra money for a beginner like me?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
I got an Endurace CF SLX 8 Di2 end of April which was a returned bike from a customer. Grease and assemling paste everywhere even on the saddle and scratches on the chain stay. This bike was expected to be delivered beetween 05/20 and 05/31 and suddendly it was delivered end of april. So I had a feeling that the same model was returned by a customer and then forwarded to me. They apologized and tokk it back and arranged another shipping expected to be delivered betwenn 06/10 and 06/21.
Surprisingly it is again much earlier available and it is already on the way to. I am afraid that I will again get a returned bike from another customer and not a new one which is from the current batch which was announced for mid to end of June.
In additon to that, the new bike has "smaller" number combination at the end of the serial number. The first digits are the model, then the year and then I guess a continues combination of letters and numbers. The bike I returned had "B" followed by a number at the end and the new bike I am expecting has an "A" followed by a number. Now I am afraid that I will get another returned bike.
What do you think?
Hi everyone
I'm deep in a dilemma and just looking for some opinions to help me one or another way.
I've been patiently riding my old trusty steel road bike for years waiting for the right ultimate model (in a solid paintjob) to be launched. I recently decided to change a few things on my current bike and the rabbit hole it became leads me to need to spend probably €2-300 for new parts and wait weeks before I can ride again.
At the same time, I've been checking the Ultimate CF SLX more than once every day on Canyon's side. It has everything I want from the CF SL just €1500 more expensive. I certainly don't need the better SLX frame. I have the money for it but find it difficult to justify spending that amount.
With my current bike unrideable, I've been close to hitting the order button. But, I just took a look at the local used bike market and I see a ton of 2018-2019 Ultimates at around the €1500/€2000 mark. I've even found an SLX model with nice Zipp 303 wheels and a Stages powermeter. Rim brake but that's okay.
So, my question is then: what would you do? I dislike the idea of buying used carbon, but on the other hand I could buy four used bikes for the price of the new one. I like the idea of the extended, 6 year warranty when buying new, but is it even really that valuable to have?
I really appreciate any perspectives, experiences and opinions here - it's my first time buying a bike of that kind of caliber 🙂 Thanks a lot and all the best to everyone!
Hi, I am about to buy the Grail CF SL 8. I want to use my SP connect smartphone case but wondering which of the mounts are fitting to the CP0045 cockpit.
What’s your experience? May I have to change to Quadlock or another manufacturer?
Threw some 50mm Superteam carbons on my Endurace SLX 7.
Say what you will but they're light and fast. I like em. Also, -5 points for crankarm position and -5 points for valve stem orientation.
Looking for advice or help on an issue with my canyon lux world cup. The rear rocker arm bushings/bearing have come loose for a second time in less than a year. First time canyon said they can be too loose from initial factory. So shop fixed it. Now this time it's clear it's going to be a recurring issue. Problem is, it requires almost full disassembly of the rear triangle just to tighten the two bolts that are coming loose.
Is there some sort of step by step guide provided by canyon somewhere so I can avoid having to take it to the shop every time for this? I can do most basic bike service stuff. But suspension stuff gets a bit above my pay grade.
I put some light on the Canyon Endurance :-)
Does anyone know the chain size of a canyon exceed cf size large?
After a bike fit I lowered my seat a lot. I have slammed the stem to compensate, but do you guys know of a negative stem that can fit?
Ok, please help. What size is ok for me? I have shorter legs. Also I am 178cm tall and my iner size is 82.5cm.
Hi
I'm looking to get a Canyon Endurace CF, but my ridiculously short legs make it difficult to determine the correct size.
My measurements:
Height: 1m72 (5'8")
Inseam (without shoes): 74cm (29.1")
Mobility: average
I'm not a racer, so the more relaxed geometry of the Endurace looks appealing. The Canyon website recommends XS, however I'm outside of the normal range on the chart. (Height wise I'd be in S, inseam is on the edge between 2XS and XS) Picture
I did do a check with myvelofit. (AI thing where you upload a video of yourself standing and it determines your body proportions and matches it to bike frames. The reviews of this app seem positive.) MyVeloFit recommends small. Picture of XS vs S comparison
Any advice is more than welcome!
Thanks!
Just for the sake of completeness: my current bike is a cheap Triban RC500 (size S) from Decathlon. Here's a comparison between the geometries. It does occasionally give me some lower back pain, but I'm clueless regarding the reason.
I am thinking of getting one but I do ride DH a few times a year and was wondering if it’s capable enough.
Hi!
After reading a number of posts I have decided that the Grizl:on fits my needs quite well as, as good mix of gravel and road and general adventuring.
Im new to this level of biking, so would the CF7 be sufficient or is it worth stepping up to CF9?
