Subreddit for the band "Cage the Elephant!
Welcome to /r/CageTheElephant! We are a fan-run subreddit for the Kentucky modern rock band Cage The Elephant.
Rules:
Don’t be dicks.
Please use /r/music to just post straight-up YouTube links to songs; odds are we've heard it if it's on one of the 4 main albums.
You can discuss leaks, but no actual links/downloads or requests for such are allowed.
Self-promo is fine as long as you 1) have a significant similarity to CTE’S music and 2) aren’t excessive about posting. It’s up to the mods to decide what “excessive” means.
Enjoy the music!

The 2015 AMA with Jared & Matt
Instagram: Matt, Brad, and MGMT (no, not that MGMT) run this one.
Twitter: Brad and Jared mostly run this one, as well as MGMT, but you can usually tell when the latter’s at the helm.
Snapchat: cagetheelephantofficial. Not often used. Jared runs this one.
Facebook: MGMT and (rarely) Matt run this one.
...And their MySpace, if you’re still into that I guess. Run by tumbleweeds.

So basically there’s this contest on one of the local radio stations in my city where you have to guess a mystery word. They play a snippet of Matt doing an interview where he says “we never go on tour without _____” and I can’t for the life of me figure out what it would be and it seems like no one else can either because this contest has been going for literal months. Is there any specific interesting things they bring on their tours that I can’t remember?
does anyone know where we can veiw matt's artwork?
i’ve listened to a good portion of their discography, and i’m slowly chipping away at all of it. my favorite of the ones i’ve listened to are in one ear, judas, cold cold cold, social cues and broken boy.
i’m wondering what good recommendations for the next songs i should listen to are? i’ve been trying to get through their whole discography but i’m quite a slow listener, so i thought maybe come on here and ask for which ones i should listen to next, incase there’s some really good relatively unpopular song i haven’t heard.
This is the best album ever
Im a pretty new cte fan and this is the 4th album I listened to. I started with melophobia since everyone says it's their best one and that it'll never be topped but omg tell me im pretty is so good. Melophobia had amazing quality with a pretty good amount of quantity that I like, cage the elephant had quality and not much quantity, thank you happy birthday had more quantity than quality but tell me im pretty has it all. This is the first album ever where I've added every song to my playlist. Sweetie little jean best song btw
Spotify lyrics says "to terrify" but I've always heard and thought it's "too terrified." and to me "desperately searching for signs, too terrified to find a thing" makes a lot more sense, especially considering rest of the lyrics..
I'm going to one of the Oasis North America shows next year and wanted to know what songs or albums I should start listening to for Cage The Elephant as the support act.
there's a contest in my hometown on the radio where you have to finish a Cage the elephant quote. the quote is "I never go on tour without___" help me fill in the blank!
Does anyone know of any songs like the second half of carry me in? It’s my absolute favorite, I’d love to hear more like it
Is it me or does this album feel like a perfect fall/halloween season album? I know most of the songs have nothing to do about that but I always come back to Melophobia every October.
It might also be because when it was released 2013 it was during October and im orrtty sure I listened to it everyday before and after high school 🤣
The first time I saw this band was this summer. Now I’m HOOKED! Just scored 4 tickets to Twisted Xmas so I can introduce the experience to my friends.
I hope they keep the set list at 20 songs minimum!!
Shot pictures at their Fort Worth show, and finally got around to sitting down and putting them together. Here are some of the pics! Hope y'all enjoy :)
At the forum in Inglewood
Mine is easily Melophobia as I feel it's their most consistent and sonically diverse album. Social Cues is a close #2 for me though.
Ticket are on sale 😳. Does anyone have a pre-sale code?!?
What is Matt saying??
Finally did something with all my concert T's
I have an XL I’m WILLING TO TRADE AND GIVE SOME CASH
