Another thrilling season of Bracket Challenge has come and gone. After having the record shattered last year by /u/WillNolan, substantial chaos saw some of the lowest scores among the top-10, with only those 10 breaking the 300 mark. MARCH!!!!
The final margin wasn't as close as recent years, with /u/nathanjm000 finishing 7.86 points over second-place /u/BrokenClumsyDolphin.
The most perfect brackets this year was 3, with the average participant only getting 0.37 perfect brackets. Congrats to the 257 of you who manage this accomplishment! The most correctly picked conference champs this year was 15, with the average participant getting 6.66 (I swear to go on this one).

🎶And now, the end is near/And so I face the final curtain🎶
Chaos... So much chaos! While some were more heavily predicted than not, yesterday saw 16 seed-line upsets in 36 games! In the SEC, all of the top-3 seeds lost, seeing 75% of people lose their champs. In the Big West, #4 LBSU shocked #1 UC-Irvine, seeing 78% of participants lose their champ. In the AAC, #11 Temple continued their cinderella run, toppling #3 Charlotte; Temple, who only won 5 regular-season conference games, has won 7 of their last 9 including the tournament.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
In the ACC, we're not getting the in-state rivalry many predicted for their champ game as NC State and UNC will face off. In the MAAC, top-seed Quinnipiac was upset by #5 St. Peter's who are hoping to make another unprecedented run in the Big Dance - 36% of the field precited Quinnipiac to win the MAAC.
THERE IS EVEN MORE YET!
In the MAC, #8 Kent State continued to surprise, upsetting #5 Bowling Green to make the championship - only 6 participants picked Kent State to win the MAC. In the MEAC, the top-2 seeds fell yesterday, wiping out the champs for 86% of us.
THERE IS SOMEHOW STILL MORE!
In the Pac 12, both #1 Arizona (embarrassingly) and #2 Wazzu lost, jointly accounting for 84% of champ predictions. Lastly, the WAC saw #2 Tarleton State upset by #3 UTA; they didn't make up a large percent of champ picks, but still accounted for the second-most in the conference. There were no finals yesterday but there are 13 today with the final 5 on Sunday.
All the chaos from yesterday shook up the top-10 a fair bit, with 3 people jumping into the rankings. The median score achieved was 35.57 points, the mean was 24.75, and the biggest upward movement in the standings was /u/chet_w with a jump of 130 spots, from 342 to 212. Only the Ivy has yet to tip-off, doing so in less than 30 minutes as I type this, so be sure to get it in if it's not yet 11am!

There were no finals yesterday and there are none today; however, there are 13 finals tomorrow and the final 5 on Sunday.
Although 53 games tipped-off yesterday, the top of the standings weren't shaken up all too much with only 2 people, /u/cheeks_mcgoo, rising from 12^th to 7^th, and AnAnonymousSource, who rose from 25^th to 10^th. Yesterday saw 10 new conference tournaments tip-off, with many others already ongoing, yielding massive upsets. In the Big Sky Championship, the Battle of the Montanas saw #5 Montana State upset in-state rival #3 Montana 85-70. In the Big 12, injuries on the #6 Jayhawks side proved too much to overcome as #11 Cincinnati embarassed them 72-52. The ACC saw #6 Clemson fall to #11 Boston College 76-55 and the C-USA tournament saw the favorite #2 LA Tech fall to #7 MTSU 70-67. Alongside Montana State, Colgate also punched a ticket to the Big Dance.
For the first time in this year's challenge, the top-10 doesn't look too different, with only one new name in the ranks as /u/nathanjm000 rose from 12^th to ^7th . The median score achieved was 26.53 points, the mean was 20.08, and the biggest upward movement in the standings was /u/Taigherh with a jump of 99 spots, from 837 to 738. Today's bracket already closed, so only the Ivy remains, which closes on Saturday. It's time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the chaos!

Welcome back to another exciting season of Bracket Challenge! If you're new around here, this is our daily scoring update post highlighting exciting happenings from the previous 24 hours of games and a reminder about what's coming up next. While mountm isn't making these posts this year, we're immensely grateful for all of his contributions for the first decade of the challenge!
There was some real tension in our first evening of multi-bracket action, with many games coming down to the wire. Last-place Horizon team Detroit kept it close against #11 Milwaukee, falling 83-79. In the Sun Belt, last place ODU's 3/4 court heave to end regulation came too late, ultimately losing 92-83 in OT. And in the ASun, #6 North Alabama hit a buzzer-beater to knock-out tournament favorite #3 Lipscomb 77-75; meanwhile, #4 Austin Peay survived a scare against #5 UNF in OT, 101-98. The highlight of the night, though, was top-seed EKU falling to bottom-seed Jacksonville 67-65 as Michael Moreno couldn't get a shot up after missing 2-of-3 free throws with seconds left on the clock.
The standings are still quite tight with only thirteen early-round games completed, though no one remains perfect after day 2.
