Does anybody know how to cheat or cheese the game and get mostly 5 stars? Or just improved recruiting l?
I own both 2k8 and 2k7, and booted up a legacy on 2k7, and something about the gameplay was off to me. I was coaching the game and there were wayyy too many threes shot, and it was overall just a bit more janky. Felt a bit too quick too while 2k8 has solid game flow in my opinion. Anyone else notice this or am I just being nitpicky?
I’m looking for a PS2 college game, preferably one with a career mode.
College Basketball is back in the next couple of days for a new season 🙏🏽
As such I have made a new tutorial video for legacy mode!

I made a few teams on ncaa basketball 10 but is there any on ch2k8?
What kind of offense do you guys run? I usually have all plays on and have a few that I like to run but normally run what the coach calls. I have a 7’1 Center who is by far my best player, I cannot get him to take more than 5-6 shots in the sim. I boosted his tendencies up and stuff but I’m wondering if I change the playbook to something then he will get more touches and shots. Let me know what you guys think or do personally when you have a big man you want to get a lot of touches.
If you’re like me you’ll get stuck playing for a day straight…and then before you know it your day off is over because you’ve been playing your legacy like a madman..
Personally, I mix it up with simming some, hoopcast sim for a few , and then coaching 5-10 games/ the conference tournaments.
Not exactly sure how team chemistry works in the game, maybe someone does.
Does it affect things in game like passing, defense, etc..
but anyway I thought this was a cool moment seeing the Sr. Center (Biedenbach) support his running partner on the Court So. PF Wright.
We’ve got a (71) in Team Chemistry right now.
Currently at Michigan and Southern Mississippi who I left has managed to remain a perennial powerhouse in C-USA since I left 8 years ago and just beat me to getting a championship, feeling myself on my own personal hot seat right about now.
Was at Prairie View for 7 years, had a few mid major offers as I made the big dance and was a perennial 20 win team starting my second year but I was only leaving for a non mid major and Souther Mississippi was who came calling and I was not too happy about leaving the Houston area for Mississippi at all. Was there for 5 years and went 35-2 my last year earning the 1 seed which got me the Michigan job.
I actually wanted to take the DePaul or Rutgers job because I preferred living in one of those markets but the roster makeup of those squads would’ve got me fired and Michigan was only open because Beilein retired as opposed to those two being open for firings.
Southern Mississippi actually went 35-2 again the next year were in the market for a coach again after there coach unexpectedly retired after one year and they hired Virginia’s coach who had been fired and they’ve remained a hotbed for hoops in that region since.
If conference realignment was possible during legacy mode I’d definitely put them in the SEC or something at this point.
Booting up 2k8 once again and wondering what team to pick. So far I only have one rule: no MEAC or SWAC teams. They’re essentially the games easy mode, and I’ve had plenty of runs in those conferences. What team would be a good pick to be successful early, but still challenged?
I was thinking a Ohio valley team, for the low quality across the league, or the NEC.
The Leathernecks got revenge from last year’s tournament loss against Utah State. The Aggies just shot poorly from the field, future lottery pick Caron Wilson gave us problems last year but the zone we played seemed to help. Slater had 15 in his debut, Seymour added 11/5 and no turnovers, 5 players finished in double figures. The 3 starting freshmen all were in double figures and played huge down the stretch for us to pull away 81-62. Hodge, Elder and Blair off the bench seems like it will be unfair for the Summit League but will be great for non-conference opponents. This is Custer’s deepest team yet, one that has the potential to be sweet 16 bound if they are playing their best basketball in March. That’s the next goal for Custer and the Leathernecks, many in Macomb hope he can be the one to take this team on a deep tournament run in the near future.
Playing Utah on Beach Vacation (Yay) had some downtime after cooking/cleaning
Anyway, this play cracked me up not only because of the easy dunk to pass.
But also the fact he could even pass because I thought you were frozen into animation after it starts..
Idk 🤷♂️
Hey, I play college hoops 2k8 on rpcs3 (a ps3 emulator). At first it was working, but now right after the game opens, when the welcome to hoops2k8 screen goes halfway away, the game crashes. Any suggestions?
First title game for Coach Snow. Come on Buffaloes
Updated conference realignment: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1N7V85zHKALIVoXkY0tjztxHf5mRhjz9Q0F5I9QKFHN8/edit?usp=sharing
I've been looking for an updated 24-25 College Hoops 2K8 conference realignment but have yet to find one for the base game, so I created my own, trying to match the 24-25 season as closely as possible.
Of course, the conferences aren't perfect because that is impossible due to 2K8's conference realignment limitations. In cases where I had to move a school to a different conference, I considered their previous conference and how long they were there, how recently they left their old conference, and their geographical location.
I kept all teams in the base game that are currently Division I this season. Therefore, I swapped out Hartford, UL-Calcutta, Savannah St., St. Francis (NY), and Winston-Salem St. for the following schools: North Dakota, South Dakota, Omaha, Bellarmine, and NC Central. You can use the edit school feature in the creation zone to change their names.
I dropped the WAC because there were only three schools in the base game, making it difficult to fill it with other schools. I also had to bring the Pac-10 back and put old American members back into one conference, due to the game's limitations.
Of course, if you’d like, you can swap teams like Louisville or Notre Dame for Boston College, Pitt, Syracuse, or any other teams you prefer.
You can adjust the conferences as you like, or leave them. If you have any questions or suggestions for the realignment, please feel free to message me or leave a comment.
New Dynasty run with Coach Chris Derby. Derby spent two seasons at Texas State, reaching the first round of the NCAA Tournament each season.
Derby left for Colorado where he’s currently in his third season with the Buffs. They reached the first round of the tourney last season.
