Would y’all let a girl in just because she flashed you?

Hi everyone. Not a bouncer, never will be (I am not tall). But I’m watching an episode of How I Met Your Mother, and Lily and Robin are trying to get into a bar that’s packed and has a ridiculously long line. They flash the bouncer, he lets them in. Just curious to the real bouncers out there, would this work for some of y’all?

Sexual harassment / touching protocols

I just wanna make sure that I did the right thing about the last incident about a female employee complaining that someone grabbed her ass.

Scenerio 1:

Basically, a female employee notified me that a guy grabbed her ass. I approached him and asked him to leave. Problem #1 was he only spoke Spanish. So I needed to ask someone to translate for him that he’s being removed from the club. He asked why, and I tell him that an employee said he grabbed her ass. Obviously, he denies everything. So the employee joins in and gives a slightly different story where she says that someone grabbed her ass from behind, but didn’t exactly see that it was him. The dance floor was pretty packed and she was not 100% sure that it was him. The end result was he was not removed because she cannot confirm 100% that it was him. Now, if she can confirm 100% certainty that it was him. He would’ve been removed without question. I told her that since she was not 100% sure we could not remove him but what we would do is monitor his behaviour.

Second scenario was a lady that states a guy grabbed her ass as well . She is 100% sure that it is him however Security did not witness it occur. The guy denies everything. My colleague decides not to remove him because a security did not witness it. However, just like scenario number one Security will monitor his behaviour for the rest of the night.

Third scenario is the same thing as the second scenario, however, five people report the same person touching many women inappropriately . security did not witness anything however due to the amount of complaints lodged against the same person Security decides to remove him.

Curious why bouncers ask for secondary ID when they suspect a fake

Hey guys! As someone who is in their early 20s and has friends under 21 with fakes and over 21 that are from out of state, I am always curious why bouncers ask for a credit card or something for secondary ID.

It’s usually because the ID is out of state and they want to make sure it is real (not because they think it’s a borrowed/stolen ID) so I am confused as to how that would clarify anything since debit cards don’t show any age information, just their name and my friends with fakes have their real names on their IDs anyway so it matches their cards.

What you do when you get a Fake ID?

I know there's alot of different laws for different states.
But what do you do when you get a Fake ID?

Back story:
Tonight at work. I work at a bar as security. I was working the front entrance, greeting people and checking IDs. This father and daughter walk through the door. I politely ask to see their IDs. They provide them. I look at the Daughters. Based on my training I know its a fake ID. South Carolina ID. I look at her and tell her its a fake ID. As per our policy I put it in our drawer. The father gets upset demanding it back. I explain to the father that shes not 21, she has a fake ID. Father then asks me what gives me the right to take her property. I reply its a peice of paper with her name on it. Its not a government document. If you would like I call the cops. He says okay. Then keeps demanding to have it back. Then again saying i cant take her property, this is a gonna be a civil issue now. I reply call the cops then. Before he leaves, he takes a picture of me. I don't react or nothing. The business has cameras and they are my witness. I could have stepped in and informed him that its private property and pictures cant be taken however I didn't. The father left. Shortly after this happened I informed my General Manager of this just in case any complaints or future issues come of this.

How would you have handled this situation?

Anyone ever confiscated a Hawaii ID? I encountered one the other day but was unsure since I haven't seen too many.

If my friend is a cop with a megaphone as a costume, is he getting in?

It’s one of those big fuckers from harbor freight, also I’m going as a bank robber with a nerf gun and no bullets. I’m 200$ into our costumes and wondering if we’re fucked. Thanks bouncer battalion

Have any of y'all struggled to get into other jobs because people think bouncer are violent people?

I have a job now but the job hunt after I got hurt and had to quit was rough. So many jobs cited my past as a bouncer being a red flag due to possible violent tendencies.

Silo Dublin

I, (M16) got tickets for a event thats 18+ in the Silo Dublin, which is a notoriously strict with id. How should I go around getting past the bouncer? I will be going in with a few friends, maybe one being 17 using his brothers id that looks like him and the rest being above 18.

Ive had a few ideas.

  1. Using my brothers ID. He looks VERY slightly like me. May have to buzz the hair first because he has curly hair and I do not.

  2. Getting a UK fake ID. I live in Dublin, the event takes place in Dublin. I was thinking maybe if I used a Northern Irish fake they wouldnt know what to look for?

If anyone has any tips or ideas let me know. Im dying to go to this.

What's the best way to give someone an ocular pat-down?

I want to be sure they're not a threat, that they're not carrying and they're most importantly not going to start trouble. How do you determine such things and what is your success rate?

Bounce out

About 30 yrs ago I was working as a bouncer at a Spanish night club. I'm a female 5'4 and 110lbs soaking wet. My two partners both male off duty cops. My main job was to pat down females upon entering. One night the club was showing a ppv fight. I heard a ruckus not to far from me. My two partners was on the other side of the dance floor. One male drunk off his ass was stupid and took a swing at me. Big mistake buddy, I wrapped my handcuffs around my hand and fired back. By the time my partners got to me, I had one guy in cuffs and the other holding whatever was left of his nose. Both guys were tossed. My partners both asked me if I was ok. I mustered up a cracking voice almost in tears I said " noooo. I broke a nail!"

Fucked up my id

I accidentally burned (by this the plastic bubbled a little on top) and warped my id a bit, my job requires me to work near hot ovens so i accidentally leaned against one with it in my back pocket (my jeans got burnt too sadly), my id did save me from getting hurt but now im scared that bouncers will think its a fake. Should i just bite the bullet and get a new one, i am freshly 22 too so my bday does look a little sus

Any Advice please?

Hi Guys,

So last year 2023 I went to a nightclub with my mates. Long story short I was racially abused by some people and then they told the bouncer I was threatening to attack them. The bouncer believed them BECAUSE THEY WERE SOBER!!! The bouncer was threatening to attack me if I dont leave. I told him if you attack me I will retaliate back since I didnt do anything and you cant just raise your hands on me without evidence.

The night ended with me GETTING A 4 YEAR BAN ON MY ID!!!???

How could I get unbanned? 4 years is very harsh

EDIT: Reached out to venue, provided evidence of what happened that night. Resulted in BAN GETTING LIFTED!! 🥳

Fake IDs

In your state, what are the top three ways to prove an ID is fake? We are pretty good when it comes to GA fake IDs, but when looking at other states, we don’t have the trade craft.

Do people that get into fights at the venues you work at typically know how to fight or not?

I avoid fights at all costs especially at bars and clubs. Still I'm just curious what the actual skill is. I'd like to think not good especially if drunk.

Stoked someone started this page!

There's so many facets of security but trade and tactics of bar/nightlife/venue is such a different beast.

How's everyone doing out there post 2020 re-open life?

Currently in downtown PDX and it's...still very much in an adjustment period.

Cheers ya'll!
