Basically bell accepts that other characters love him and starts his own harem since by this point a good chunk of the female cast would be in it.
So how does the story change if bell starts accepting the love of the other characters from the beginning ?
(I think it’s pretty obvious that Danmachi despite having harem elements is not going to end with a harem bell is going to end up with ais and only her that’s what has been directly set up from day one of the story)
I often think about how the story would have changed if Fianna had been in place of Lili. Her personality and character seem perfect for the role of a big sister and possibly even the "light" that Bell admires. There are so many possibilities that could have shaped Bell into a stronger individual. The Hestia Familia would likely have built stronger relationships with other families, especially the Loki Familia, as Finn would be drawn to her like a moth to a flame. I dare say that she might even become the target of his "Liaris Freese."
More alise as well
which volume is this last episode from, i can’t do this no more i can’t wait i need to know what happens next, i was gonna take my time and go from volume 1 and up slowly thru audible but now i can’t wait i gotta know ill read it if i got to if its not available on audible yet
Me would honestly let this one slide
I'm not gonna lie, Freya's hot and made me think about watching the anime. I'm sure I'm gonna love other characters as I begin to watch the anime but for now, I want to know if Freya will show up a lot in the story.
From what I heard, she's somewhat an antagonist? Is she as relevant as Esdeath in Akame ga Kill?
Read through some older threads so curious since some folks prolly caught up since.
Enjoyed the volume overall but it seems like Omori felt like writing a full length war game novel and forgot this was a Danmachi book. There were many missed points and emotional beats that 17 set up and the book kinda ended up ending on a meh. Obviously, the shonen type fans probably loved the book but as a character based fan, it falls pretty short.
Good
We had excellent deep dive on Freya, her psyche and the events that have shaped her and what she did. We also were given some amazing insight on each Freya familias main characters and why/how they were connected to her. We also got a TON of backstory on various other characters and that is what makes Danmachi special. There was a clear story, a great battle and a ton of special moments that I am looking very forward to seeing animated.
There was a lot of good nuggets in there with level up, new skills, Lilly being a badass and a ton of fun character interactions though cut a bit short most of the time. I'd have to skim through the overbloated war pages though to find all the good ones again. Most of the cool surprises weren't given enough time on the page but they were really good.
Bad
The actual war game was WAYYY over bloated page wise. Quite a few repetitive notes that didn't go anywhere. The fight itself was good minus the very strange rationale someone just didn't go get Freya's flower while the MCS were busy. Obviously it needed to be Bell storywise but it didn't make much sense one of the 5's didn't just head there after the turnaround.
Going from a huge rescue and everyone is pissed to "Oh lets war game and oh now noone can help Hestia" was bleh.
I really would have liked more time at the end with repurcussions, maybe some extra scenes, a little more resolution pieces for the Freya members we had so much screentime with. Coulda cut 50-100 pages of the battle.
Also, the emotional beats of Ryu was way too out of the blue and fast and the Freya call back to what Bell had said at the date was kinda lame. Really missed what could have been a much more impactful moment
This song describes Freya and bell’s relationship so perfectly. Literally all i could think of while watching episode 5.
Please give me some reasons to watch, Only the LN or also the anime ? What have u appreciated ?
---- [PREMISE] I have not read the novel and I am not an expert in mythology. I just did some research. Open to corrections on what will be written in the post. I want to hear your theories too. This is going to be a very long post ----
Trivially, I think her charm is so strong because it has some connection to the seidr.
The fourth episode is titled "seidhr, goddess and daughter" or only"seith". Seidhr, seith and seidr are the same thing.
WHAT IS SEIDR? In Old Norse, seiðr (sometimes anglicized as seidhr, seidh, seidr, seithr, seith, or seid) was a type of magic which was practised in Norse society during the Late Scandinavian Iron Age. The practice of seiðr is believed to be a form of magic which is related to both the telling and the shaping of the future.
FREYA AND SEIDR 《 In the Ynglinga saga (c. 1225), written by Icelandic poet Snorri Sturluson, it is stated that seiðr had originally been a practice among the Vanir, but that Freyja, who was herself a member of the Vanir, had introduced it to the Æsir when she joined them.
Freyja is identified in Ynglinga saga as an adept of the mysteries of seiðr, and it is said that it was she who taught it to Óðinn 》
MEN AND SEIDR 《 In the Viking Age, the practice of seiðr by men had connotations of unmanliness or effeminacy, known as ergi, as its manipulative aspects ran counter to masculine ideal of forthright, open behavior. Freyja and perhaps some of the other goddesses of Norse mythology were seiðr practitioners》
SEIDR AND MANIPULATION (WITH EXAMPLE) 《 As described by Snorri Sturluson in his Ynglinga saga, seiðr includes both divination and manipulative magic. It seems likely that the type of divination of seiðr-practitioners was generally distinct, by dint of an altogether more metaphysical nature, from the day-to-day auguries performed by the seers (menn framsýnir, menn forspáir).
However, in chapter 44 of the Icelandic saga Vatnsdæla saga, Þórdís Spákona loans someone her black cloak and stick (stafsprotann) for magic. The stick is used to strike a man three times on his left cheek to make him forget and three times on his right cheek to make him remember.》
INTERESTING FACT In the saga, Þórdís Spákona uses the black cloak to impart magical power to the wearer. The cloak acts as both protection and an amplifier of the wearer's magical abilities. Essentially, it grants strength and a sort of invulnerability, allowing the wearer to perform feats that would otherwise be impossible. It's a magical weapon in the form of clothing, reflecting the connection between the object and the witch's abilities.

After all she didn’t do anything wrong? Like the residents of Orario, this sub should surrender into Freya-sama’s warm embrace? In exchange for a portion of your human rights, you get to receive that person’s “love”, I don’t think that’s too much to ask? I was initially apprehensive but it wasn’t too bad after she charmed me! So if it’s for Freya-sama’s happiness, I’ll gaslight that rabbit however many times I need to!🔥🔥
Latest episode is insane and i have lost my ability to not read the books, would love to know from which novel/chapter i start to catch up with the current anime.
When Hermes instructed Hestia to release her divinity, I was kinda expecting a scene similar to when she was inside the dungeon in Season 1 episode 12 where Hestia glows, her hair turns red, and her voice becomes monotone.
However, with Season 5 episode 5, no speacial/visible effects were visible to us even when Hestia maximized her divinity against Freya's charm.
So I guess releasing your divinity is not the same with releasing your divine powers?
I understand that Freya technically only modified the memories of people in Orario, and I even understand that people who don't know Bell don't wonder, but the people close to him? Bell is the main reason Haruhime and Lillie are together with Hestia, just as Mikoto and Welf also only joined Hestia because of Bell, so what does that look like? Was the memory just replaced by another, or that kind of thing that you only notice when they start to question themselves a lot?
So Everyone got manipulated by Freya that Bell is part of Freya Familia. So i want to ask does that means Hestia no longer need to pay the debt for Bell knife?
