I’m all too familiar with Atlus’s tradition of rereleasing games years later with more content and am hesitating to buy because of that. I’m also wondering if the current sale is a good price for it from $69.99 to $52.49. Should I wait for a better sale?
This is the lowest in Steam since release. Dlcs and season pass are also discounted. Grab yours now!
We know that Atlus produces JRPG bangers and we can track it back to the trinity: Meguro, Soejima and Hashino. That got me thinking, the old square enix also had an all star team once right up to ff9. Is how Atlus percieved now how Square Enix was once viewed? Like, if you saw the main names you knew it was going to be a banger?
Lot of folks have been talking about remaking P4 after P3Re came out, but I’d much prefer a remake of SMT4. I think the game is incredibly underrated even in its own series. Putting it on a modern console/PC with rendered demons and cutscenes would be a huge level up.
I’ve heard some people admit they’re not fans of the direction and how it was a departure from 3N and why they went in the direction they did for 5, but the story really stands up and I’ve never seen anything like it before.
I want to buy the Persona 3 manga in Spanish, but I can only find it in English and I would like to know if there is a Spanish version.
Today I bought Metaphor Refantazio. From what I’ve seen the game works similarly to SMT. I never played an SMT game, but from what I have heard that game suggests specialized builds. Should I do the same with Metaphor or does the logic not apply to this game? Currently I’m not sure if I should prioritize a stat to allocate my points to. I’m playing on hard btw.
So I've got Persona 4/ 5 and I tried the Metaphor demo and all games initially grip me. But I'm struggling to get over the "time limit" aspect of these games. I'm worried that I'm not doing the best things for each day. On the other side of the coin I don't want to follow some step by step guide because then I'm not really experiencing it.
I know that sounds stupid and I hope people can relate. I feel like if I could get over this I would love these games
Recently completed Metaphor and absolutely loved it! Outside of Metaphor, my only experience with Atlus Games are P5 (Royal and OG).
I recall P3R having its positives/merits while having things both fans of the original and newcomers wish were done better or differently.
With that in mind, is there anything to keep in mind that might disappoint or pale in comparson to Metaphor and/or P5 (or do better/excel at)?
I do know that P3's dungeon(s) are procedurally generated similar to Mementos in P5 as opposed to unique dungeons for each chapter/arc but I'm okay with that!
My main concern is that I might sully my experience of P3R if I play it shortly after Metaphor; should I let the experience of Metaphor before jumping into P3R or jump into it! Thanks in advance for any and all thoughts ~
(Wrote on mobile while walking on a treadmill so apologies for typos)
i liked the game very much.
See title. I absolutely adore P5R and P3R and they are two of my favorite games I've ever played, I absolutely love the gameplay, slice of life portion, characters, and settings in both games. I know all of the feedback I've seen on Metaphor is that it takes everything that makes the gameplay/time management of the recent Persona games and improves on it, but I am still hesitant to purchase the game as super high fantasy games are not really my thing.
One of the reasons I love the Persona series is that while there are anime/classic JRPG story-telling, the world the characters live in themselves still feels rooted in reality, which is a balance I love. The general motif of the world/story Metaphor is giving me from the trailers/gameplay I've seen is almost a bit Xenoblade 3-adjacent, and that game was really hard for me to get into just because the story and characters veered a little too hard into high fantasy/sci fi.
From your experience, would you call Metaphor very high fantasy, or do you think someone who loves Persona 5/3 could love and be into the games regardless?
Me personally I think Guillermo Del Toro would make an amazing Catherine movie

Hey looking for someone to join my steam family if they have metaphor refantazio or any other good games like black mith wokong or sparking zero?
Is it as good as the persona games?
tried looking it up, didn't see any info about it on 3 different sites, so figured i'd ask here.
I have had nothing but fun playing the Atlus games I have played. I have 100%'d both Royal & Golden and have played a bit of Strikers and Catherine.
I really want to get Metaphor & Persona 3 Reload. However, I'm very much a penny pincher and really hate replaying games. I'm worried in 2 or so years they will release a Metaphor: Kings Edition or Persona 3 Platinum or something or the other with extra content.
Does anyone else feel similarly?
Has anyone played all 4 games and would recommend picking up one of the complete editions? I'm torn between the two, but I'm not sure P5 is worth another playthrough just for the royal content.
Edit: Thanks for the great perspectives, everyone. It sounds like the way to go is SMT: VV, and then maybe P5R when it's been a few more years since my first playthrough.
