Encountered it in Oconee county parking lot in front of five below. We’re new to the area we come from NY. A place of every race you can think of. Had friends of every race you can think of. But we were living in TX for 4 years so not new to the south.It was very disturbing encounter. Even the women’s child looked scared. We are Hispanic. She was some white Karen lady.. textbook Karen. Told us go back to Mexico.

Deleting Instagram because fuck Marky Z, but man. Thats what i use to learn//support local markets, art exhibits and music shows.

Is there a more specific Athens reddit for these things? Would anyone be interested in that?

EDIT: Yes flagpole lists official events, but unofficial, DIY, punk, house shows? There's a whole scene that exists on Athens instagram that is not to be found in flagpole.

Here are some series notes for this weekend's 3-game set with the Baton Rouge Zydeco. I have been putting these together weekly in this first season....

-- This will be Athens' first 3-game series in 3 days and only the 2nd for the Zydeco, so stamina may come into play Sunday. Who will have the better legs?

-- Athens must try to sweep this three-game series to help overcome the schedule imbalance that greatly favors the Zydeco in the FPHL playoff chase. And when I say imbalance, it really is as the Zydeco have picked up 32 of their 60 points against the bottom feeders in each division, while Athens has very few games against those two teams.

When the deck was built, Mama Goldberg's was where Musician's Warehouse is now. Was that when Fuzzy's showed up in the end spot, too? Somehow it feels like Mama G's was a billion years ago while Fuzzy's reign of terror wasn't that long ago.

I'm not having any luck finding food related volunteer opportunities I can do on Saturdays. I was hoping to sort food donations or prepare food. Preferably something behind the scenes because I'm not very social. I checked the NE Georgia food bank and they don't have any volunteer shifts on Saturdays. Daily bread community kitchen also doesn't have Saturday shifts. I'm only interested in food related volunteer opportunities, so if you know of any that I can do on Saturdays, please let me know. With the federal funding shitstorm going on right now I was wondering about how much of the money that flows through town is from students financial aid, not even counting what goes to the University.
