Hello all,
I am setting up a 2g walstad tank, right now I'm in the middle of its fishless cycle. Ammonia 0, Nitrite 1ppm, Nitrate 4ppm. I have some bladder snails in my other tank that I want to bring into the walstad tank to keep it clean and provide some ammonia. Is it safe to introduce them to it while nitrite is at 1ppm, and possibly higher while it's not fully cycled?
My assasin snail keeps trying to come out of the water and do not eat at all.
I found him outside of water yesterday but still alive.
He keeps hang on the surface of water and not move.
Previously, he buried himself in sand and come out to find food but now he is like this.
What's wrong with him?
Sorry for the bad photo quality but is that an albino bladder snail? I'll try to post a better one once he moves.
Is this a good idea? How do I know the gender. And how breeding goes?
Could I use the one without D3 for my mystery snails? I also have reptiles that’s why I have this in the first place.
Can you guys ID these two snails for me? Have a few dozen hitchhikers from my plants but most just look like ordinary pond snails. These two are downright pretty, though, so just wondered ehat they were.
This tank turned into a bladder snail tank
Are there any fresh water snails that burrow/mix up sand besides the MTS? Just created my first sand tank and afraid of the MTS overpopulation horror stories.
First of all he’s not dead 😅 but ever since last night he’s been floating around half in his shell.. he did attach to the wall for maybe an hour or so earlier today but I’m getting kinda weirded out especially because he is so small compared to the others.
I don’t think it’s a trapped air bubble because of the fact he took a break and scooted around when I put him in a different container with less water but I absolutely could be wrong.
Anyone have experience with this? I’m just trying to do the best I can
I have a heavily planted aquarium with serpae tetra, cherry shrimp, mystery snails, and ramhorn snails. The tank is established and has been stable for over a year. I have noticed that the ramhorn snails seem to be dying young and not reaching full size. Any ideas why this would happen?
I have never seen my boys do this before…so glad I caught a video of it.
He's gotten so big 😢
I made a post recently regarding these guys as I was unsure of their species (I appreciate everyone who took a jab at trying to identify them). Seem to be none the wiser currently as to what they are as I had several species suggested so I thought I'd show another video of them in hopes we can solve the mystery of whatever these guys are
