I am already planning on 2 clownfish but would maybe like to add 1 other fish. What are the easiest/hardiest fish that would be compatible with clownfish in a 20g?
One was suggested to me from my lfs today and after a few YouTube videos, they seem to be recommended to keep bubble algae under control. I've always thought you needed long tanks to have these guys but I'm thinking if I can snag a small one that's less than 3", I might be ok. I also have some dragons tongue growing in the tank and I'd assume this would just be dinner right? I know I'd need to keep it fed to keep it from munching on my corals, but I'm willing to give it a try if I can find a really small one.
I know that sea horses need lower temperatures than normal reef tanks so just wondering what if any corals would be best in a sea horse tank thanks
How many ml of food a day is necessary to feed a yellow ball sponge. Can they be fed once every two days if big enough?
Hi all, as title states, I'm looking to get into this hobby and looking for advice on which would be the best tank/setup to buy.
I've looked at a few, the nicest are way out of my price range, have a budget of around £1000 (UK based). And realise out of that equipment will need to bought for it.
Have been looking at fluvial sea flex saltwater 123. Any thoughts of this? Or can you recommend something better?
Ideally would like something around 2-3 feet to fit in what I feel is the ideal spot.
Have had experience in past with tropical and cold water tanks, but this is new territory. Am also watching loads of YouTube advice, but they seem either huge tanks or square box like tanks.
Thanks for your time.
I just got a new aquatop max flow wave maker for my 20 gallon and was wondering what the beat settings for it would be?
Purchased a feather duster from the petco the other day. Only issue was it didn't want to leave out of the rock it was attached to so I bought the rock as well. Put it in my saltwater tank and saw the duster maybe barely once and not anymore. Could it be inside one of the many holes of the rock not wanting to come out?
Did a water change(2%) a few hours ago and my torch is now a bit retracted and letting out this brown slime. Should i dip? Parameters are on point. Used premixed water from a bin that i’ve been using for month (big container, from my awc system)
So is the general consensus that this is still in fact a peanut worm? Decided to build a 20 long to replace the 10 this worm was in. Figured I’d sift the sand to find the worm and put it in the new tank since everyone said “good clean up crew” but after I’m seeing it in whole idk if I want to do that anymore it’s creeping me 😅 I put my hands are in the tank to much lmao do peanut worms have spikes this big?
Hello,
like the title says, i need something in that size and price category and Waterbox is completely sold out in germany for some reason.
Does anyone have an opinion on one or both of those tanks? Id prefer the sump for several reasons, its just going to be more expensive (Skimmer, Pump etc.)
Most important, i currently have a RadionXR15, could i use that for the Max Nano? It looks like it wont fit with the backpanel.
Cheers :)
Thanks for your help.
got some zoas today and found a few hitchhikers and would like to know if they’re safe or not, tia!
I got an apex/trident system when I bought a used tank recently. I’ve never used a system like this part of me thinks it’s amazing and great. Also feels like it could be an enormous pain in the ass. Seems like you could really dial in dosing for SPS a get more coral growth. But a simpler easier system with slower growth isn’t horrible either in my opinion. What are your experiences with this worth it? Or is simpler better.
So I have brown algae with bubbles that points me to Dino’s it’s pretty bad if I black out the tank will my fish and corals be ok. Also I noticed a couple of aiptasia in there. I know I need test for phosphate and nitrates to make sure they didn’t bottom out but if they are low what can I to to bring the numbers up to beat this bitch. I have a little vac come to clean the sand bed but what else can I do that won’t hurt what I have.
Blasted these guys off my latest Coral Addition, normal bristle worms? Or something more?
A year ago I wanted opinions on my stocking list. It was soft corals, macro algae and a bunch of inverts.
But a lot of people mentioned that inverts are more difficult, but is this true?
Long story short, don't be like me! I had been having issues with stressed corals but my parameters were all looking fine (or so I thought). After a few months of chasing my own tail I bought a 35 ppt salinity calibration source and realized the most important parameter of all was WAY off! My cheap Amazon salinity meter seems to have difficulty holding calibration and will be getting replaced shortly. Looking forward to a healthier tank.
