While the meme uses hard words it's to state the truth. Google never cared about forcing companies to provide bootloader unlock and these companies are blocking bootloader unlock in purpose (same for carriers). I'm pissed.... Android should be opensource but locking bootloader makes it a joke... Same for kernel sources on GPL license.... Linus Tordvals really believes it's enough to do what he wants on his Linux system..... WRONG..... Someone had to say all this....
On older phones I remember needing liboemcryptodisabler module but giving it a try with s24+ Exynos doesn't work. Any new methods available?
Im freaking the hell out because I leave for vacation in about 24 hours and I might have just killed my OP12. Will try to keep this short. I was rooted on OxygenOS 15 and wanted to unroot because I wanted to do an OTA and root overall was giving me more problems. I uninstalled KernelSU which was my root method of choice and it seemingly made no difference and I still couldnt update my phone so me not knowing what the hell im doing (created a backup in TWRP in case anything went wrong) flashed the stock boot img in twrp. In my mind, I thought this would clear any traces of being rooted but instead, resulted in me being stuck in fastboot mode. Absolutely nothing worked, I couldnt even get back into recovery mode, it would literally only boot into fastboot mode and thats not even the worst of it because I figured I could just connect my phone to my pc and do some fastboot commands or something to flash whatever I needed to get things working again but the second I plug it into my pc, it just shuts off and hasnt turned back on since then (I know the battery was damn near full prior to all this so I know its not dead) and thats where I am now, sitting here typping this with a completely unresponsive phone and again, Im leaving home in less than 24 hours at this point and will be gone for a week and a half.
Edit 1: Device managed to come back on and is still detected by my pc in fastboot, what do I need to do here? Im not even sure what to flash at this point but im willing to lose my data to resolve this.
I have an LG K51 Verizon phone that I am trying to remove the Google account from because otherwise the phone will have to be thrown away and I don't want to waste it. I have unlock tool for windows but I don't know how to enter brom mode in order to perform the frp reset. Can anyone help with this?
Device: OnePlus 9 (lemonade) ROM: LineageOS 21 (21-20241209-NIGHTLY) Magisk Version: 28.1
Issue: I can successfully boot my OnePlus 9 with the stock LineageOS boot.img, but when I patch it with Magisk, the phone fails to boot. No error messages, just fails to boot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This problem started after I accidentally installed an OTA update and immediately rebooted. I'm happy to provide more details if needed.

Hey y'all so I have quick question..... What does this mean on GG when I'm trying to hack NFS No Limits? Says the game isn't responding. Mind you I'm on android 14 n ive tried it on parallel space but it does the same thing
I don't use any banking apps and don't think I would be affected by play integrity but I've put off rooting for a while because of having to reset my phone for oem unlocking but when I updated to Android 14 most of my apps close when they use "too much memory" and decided I'm going to downgrade to Android 13 and need to enable oem unlocking so I decided why not also root so I was just wondering, What is the best rooting solution (Magisk, KernelSU, or Apatch)? And where is the official place to get it?
Edit: I have a motorola moto G power 5G (2023)
I have a redmi note 9 pro. with miui 13 on it and i'd like to install LineageOS. The wiki of LineageOS tells me that i need to be on version V14.0.3.0.SJZMIXM. I can update to MIUI 14 without problem but not exacly V14.0.3.0.SJZMIXM. Thankfully the wiki provides a tutorial explaining how to flash V14.0.3.0.SJZMIXM. But I never flashed an android device before and i'm getting stuck at the very first comand:
If anyone could help me out i'd appreciate it. here is the link for the exact page of the wiki: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/miatoll/fw_update/variant3/

I just learned how to change the boot logo of samsung phone but it does not work for me. It just boot the original boot logo
can somebody please help me unlockmy bootloader, i already got 30 days in my mi account
when I do '.\adb reboot bootloader' on my PC, my phone reboots into Fastboot mode, but after that when I try to do 'fastboot flashing unlock', the command just gives me an infinite '<waiting for any device>'.
I should also mention that my phone when in fastboot has just 2 lines of writing which I think might also be an issue on the phone side.
"[fastboot mode] DB: product name is match"
i got an oppo a53s and colorOS is so bad and laggy, i wanted to switch to the stock expirience
after trying to install via twrp, I am installing this version lineage-14.1-20170722-UNOFFICIAL-lt023g, what happens is it prints that its installing, does detected filesystem ext4 and then keeps on that for a while then it reboots and I get stuck in boot screen here is an image of what its showing
Does anyone have amethod they can share with me on rooting and getting Kali nethunter on this guy
I have a galaxy tab a7 lite (SM-T220) which has been rooted and i finally decided to instal a custom rcovery so i can custom rom it. I searched for the tutotials on Xda and all of them are confusing (at least for me). I have flashed anther phone before. Can i use fastboot to flash the recovery instead of odin?
Hi everyone, I just wanted to add my 2 cents as someone who hasn't tried rooting and altering the ROM itself since the Asus ZenFone 2 ZE550ML because I was bricking it multiple times. Here are some tips I figured out on the S23 Ultra that I never saw online during my brief 12 hours experience:
When you try and flash a new device, always use the latest version of Odin, even if the recommended one is patched. Since doing so, I never had any errors.
If you n
eed to flash custom IMG files with Odin, make sure it goes like this: name.TAR (or name.TAR.MD5) -> name.img.lz4 -> name.img. (it's the structure, from the outside to the innermost file).
lz4 -B6 --content-size input.img output.img.lz4
Never alter the names of tar.md5 files, as that will change the MD5 checksum.
Using 7zip to compress lz4 to TAR is perfectly good, but use the POSIX compression method for compatibility.
When I want to enter Download Mode and then flash with Odin, I turn off the device. After a second, I press the power button and both volume up and down buttons (this might differ without any altered firmware). A second later, I plug in the USB cable. After I get the warning screen, I wait 2 seconds and then press the volume up button. I wait for Windows to recognize the device, then I run Odin as an administrator.
To root, you need to install the Magisk APK from GitHub, then patch the file it asks you to patch in the guide, and you have to do so on the device itself, not the PC. Move it back to the PC using ADB as instructed, etc. Very obvious now, but when I followed a TWRP guide with the AIO install (root, TWRP, unencrypted system) and the magisk.zip was nowhere to be found, I was lost and there was no clear indication of how to begin, it was more blended in the guide and assuming that you know what you are doing.
Always patch the updates with Magisk rather than doing the direct install, that's what many guides said to avoid errors.
Don't flash the stock bootloader with an altered firmware, also a common advice.
This post is not so much about the process, but the small things that made the entire rooting operation a now 10-minute process be actually 12 hours long.
Hope this helps someone that has never done root or flashing. This is still millions of times safer and better than it was, whoever leaked Odin is a legend, and who has updated it is even better. It changed everything for me.
If I made any mistakes please point them out, thank you.
I flashed the magisk zip with twrp. After rebooting it is stuck on a bootloop, i can't get to the os unless i reflash the stock AP. Any tips? Thanks!
[SOLVED] The latest supported magisk version for SM-A135F is 26.3 anything above that may cause bootloops.
Considering my luck, when I get home I will try this to see if it works. If it does, I will delete this paragraph.
I have been trying to make a sort of kids phone with limited apps that can not be modified. I am going to root it and remove smart stuff like browser and appstore. However I also need to stop the installation of any and all APKs as well. I have seen a few posts about this on other forums but nobody can give step by step instructions.
Android enthusiasts has a few posts

and I found this on XDA

Still nobody can give me a step by step tutorial. Could somebody please give me some help with this?
hey whats the best one?
My phone was rooted, but then I joined android beta and installed Android Beta OTA update which removed my root (all security updates do this). Is rooting my phone safe and does it work? If so, which Android Image should I use for my phone? (Pixel 7a)
Thanks!!
