Is it possible to install PWAs as apps on LOS like it works on stock?
On LOS 22.1 Chrome only creates shortcuts for me. Do I have to install GApps to make it work?
I have been trying to install lineage OS on my pixel 4a after the battery update badly affected it. My computer runs Fedora and I followed the steps for linux, but after entering fast boot mode using the command
adb -d reboot bootloader
my computer no longer recognizes the device using "lsusb", and "fastboot devices" produces no output. I've tried both USB-C ports and 2 cables, including the cable that came with the pixel. None of the USB-C to USB-A cables I have seem to allow data transfer using the pixel even when it‘s booted into android (despite those cables working for data transfer with my SSD).
Ive installed the udev rules as recommended in the official guide.
Any ideas? thx.
Hey guys! I‘ve downloaded BlueStacks 5 and installed VMOS Pro on it. Now I wanna use LineageOS through VMOS Pro (Version 3.0.6), but all downloads I find can’t be opened by VMOS Pro. When I choose „Import local ROM“ and click on the LineageOS ZIP file it says „Cannot open the file correctly“. Do I use the wrong versions of LineageOS? Does anyone have some experience with VMOS Pro + LineageOS that can help me?
It won't actually let me edit my screenshots. The issue is new, since 2015 Android 15 upgrade.
Device:
Moto G52
Just a quick thank you to the devs of LineageOS!
My wife has a Google Pixel 4a and the battery was badly affected by the recent update. Her options were £50 refund or £100 store credit towards a different phone.
Instead, I offered to install a custom rom for her.
After some research we settled on LineageOS 22.1; I followed the instructions carefully and it all worked well.
Her battery is back to normal and lasting longer than ever and she is well chuffed :D
Hi all, like the title suggests, I'm thinking about going full in and switch from official OneUI to LineageOS on both my phone, only phone I use, Samsung A52s and tablet, Samsung Tab S6 Lite (the OG one from 2020) only tablet I have, I use it daily for uni, so notes with the s-pen and docs, casual media consuption and very, very light gaming, their official support by Samsung is already over or near the end and I start to hate OneUI because of the inconsistent app choice Samsung is making (one thing is theirs, the other is by microsoft, another one by google and so on), that's becoming really annoying for me that had an Android One before these so I looked for alternatives. LineageOS seems the most resonable option having a clean android and giving the choice to be used totally degoogled or with barebone google to keep things clean and simple, while I'm not mainly switching to run away from Google right now (can't be sure in the future tho hahah) I like the possibility of choice, both devices seems to be officially supported.
Being my only devices on the respective use cases, I'm being extra careful but at the same time LineageOS looks good enough to be daily driven on both.
Reading online I learned I will lose forever Knox, while I don't recall using any of the feature Knox offers, on tablet shouldn't be a big deal since it's there only for secure space, but on phone it manages other things like pass and pay, can I use google wallet for payments on lineageos or the possibility is gone for good?
Another thing is about VoLTE and VoWiFi being kinda proprietary on Samsungs, is this still true?
Will the s-pen be affected? I know the feature like the little s-pen menu, lock screen notes and samsung notes are Samsung software trickery that will not be there, but if, for example, I install and use Noteshelf like i'm doing now on official OneUI, will it work the same hardware wise with the eraser button, pressure sensitivity, palm rejection and all?
What are the pros and the cons (majorly concerned on the cons, on what I'm losing here) of this?
(Sorry if it will be hard to read, i wrote it trying to syntesize everything I took in consideration these days and english isn't my primary language, thanks in advance to everybody)
Switched off all but vital app background usage. Welcome 2 day battery life even with Google Services. Thx devs.
Does anyone know why I can't call or video call someone on Whatsapp? I'm using 22.1 and whenever I try to do that, it freezes and crashes. What could it be?
Hello, is there any support for a recent tablet? I note the most recent is the Samsung Galaxy S6lite LTE which is pretty old now.
I have moto g52 and I would like to use lineage OS but there are two issue:
Since I have not done something like this before I am scared I might brick my phone and I can't even buy a new one rn.
I am from India so I frequently use UPI and I have heard that it will be a problem on lineage OS. I don't have a definite answer to this yet.
Every other custom roms seems to support bootloader locking for google pixel phones? Why LineageOS does not?
LOS looks very barebones ,not a lot of customization ,I'm new ,maybe I can't find anything ,does anyone know how to make it more customizeable? (LOS 22.1 ,Android 15 ,Samsung A52q if that will help)
I'm trying to install LineageOS on my Pixel 4a (sunfish), but I keep running into the "adbd cannot run as root in production builds" error. I need ADB root access to proceed, but adb root
doesn't work.
Things I've tried:
adb shell
→ su
(doesn’t help with adbd
itself)adbd
, but not sure if it's the right approachSince I'm stuck at this step, I can't proceed with the installation. Is there a workaround for enabling ADB root on a production build, or should I be using a different method to install LineageOS? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hace poco conseguí está tablet y quería
Rotearla por qué va lento
Y por qué no me deja

Hi, i have a question to the people who using LineageOS with MicroG Services.
Is there any compatibility issues, compared to GAPPS?
Well. Basically that is my question. I don't have much info regarding that phone and I'd like to make it as de-googled and privacy oriented as is humanely possible. Is it possible to install on this device or do you guys have any suggestion for another OS to try that might be compatible with that phone?
I would like to root my second-hand Pixel 7a and install Iode OS. However, I am currently facing the following issue: OEM unlocking is not working. In the developer options, OEM unlocking is grayed out and therefore not clickable.
What I have already tried:
Does anyone have any other ideas on what I can try? Pretty sure it is not a Verizon phone as I live in Holland.
Best regards,
Hi! I'm new here, using lineage for one day :D I've lost my hope to install Gboard, so help me please :( It says that I already have it, but I can't use it, I just can't find it. When I try to update it from play market it says that other user installed incompatible version of this app and all. If I try to install it via apk from browser it just crashes my system and it reboot
Just for giggles I’m looking to put Lineage on Samsung j7 (700p) (2015). Looking for the old version. I understand Lineage OS dropped support. If someone has a copy of the OS for the Samsung J7 (700p). It will be much appreciated.
how can i buy things in a game that requires google play store???
I have a old tablet Lenovo Tab 2 A10-30. would like to install a custom rom to make it feel/be faster. Tablet is only being used to watch movies and occasionally games nothing more.
I'm looking for a custom rom that can give this tablet some more life, would be nice if the os still get security updates since sometimes it will be connected to the internet.
I'm not super handy in getting around os, but with a good tutorial can get to install the os. I saw the lineage os but it doesn't support my device so that one is out.
The phone can't even be switched off, and the computer can't see it via adb, what can I do?
I've just upgraded from LineageOS 21.
Is it a newly introduced restriction of Android 15?
E: I've found posts saying that it was removed even earlier. The option was still there for me on LineageOS 21 with microG
my device goes to deep sleep for only a second and drains a lot of battery while idling (over 15% for 8 hours), this bug existed since lineage os 21 i have tried switching from mindthegapps to nikgapps and that didnt help. i also installed gms doze and it didnt help too. does anyone here know any possible solution to this? thanks
Dug up this old tablet. Unsurprisingly no longer supported by OEM. Chrome crashes when I try to open it.
Don't have a ton of experience with ROMs or LineageOS but I am aware that these programs can revitalize older machinery.
Is it worth going through the trouble of loading Lineage OS or XDA onto it, or, at nearly 10 years old now, is it just not worth playing with?
If I were able to get it running again I would just like to be able to use it for media or low end (pre 2010) emulation. I would also like to be able to use it to read stuff on the internet, if that's even feasible.
For more details, according to Settings>Tablet status it is:
SHIELD Tablet K1
Android version: 7.0
Build number: NRD90M
Thanks for taking the time to read my noobish question. If this is a punt, I totally understand. I don't know if I'd call myself a hoarder, but I don't much love tossing technology in the trash if I think I can still get something out of it. But if there's nothing more to get out of it, then that's the score.
Hello,
I need to re install lineageOS to my phone that already has lineageOS as I installed the wrong addons. the thing is that it is mention that to do the procedure I need to be in android 13 (it is a google pixel 4a) and now my phone is on android 15. so i need to do a downgrade of it (https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/sunfish/install/). but the guide simply says guides can be found on internet, well... i could not find a good guide for doing it in linux. i only found this https://9to5google.com/2023/04/27/downgrade-android-14-on-pixel/ and some commands (flash-all) is not existing the adb thing yes (as i used for installing lineageos). any guide for doing this?
Flashed my redmi 12 to lineage 22. There are no bugs as such, but there is one bug that interferes very much. When using wireless headphones, as soon as the sound stops playing, bluetooth is rebooted. Can anyone help in this situation?
A bunch of issues on my Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (gta4xlwifi) on LOS 22.1 nightly. It's really surprising that Google can't fix the most basic things for tablet after dedicating their effort since Android 12L. It's been 3 years since then.
For example. When using three button navigation, in portrait (which is the default orientation), the taskbar icons overlap with the nav buttons.
Also, on the lock screen, I am unable to access the quick settings by swiping down from anywhere. Also the time and date disappears. Both still works in portrait.
In addition, on the lock screen in landscape, the media player BLOCKS the time and date for no reason.
Has it been like this for anyone using a tablet on LineageOS 22.1? Or is this device specific?
