Need help wrapping weighted blanket!

My husband has guessed (correctly) that I got him a weighted blanket for Christmas. I'm trying to figure out how to wrap it in an unusual way to surprise him. It's quite bulky and weighs 20 pounds so it's going to be hard to disguise.

Any ideas?

Funny false wrapping ideas for stepladder?

Gifting a 6 foot stepladder this year, need some way to continue my tradition and make some funny shaped wrapped creation. Last year was a goat, the year before a missile. Anyway, I need some inspiration. to save some space I'd probably prefer if it were folded flat, but I'm open to ideas with it opened as well.

Thanks.

Gift wrapped by an artist in Taos, NM

Bought a small framed art print from an artist (Lysa Montwill in Taos, NM, studio is named Dragonfly Blue, check it out!). She said she did free gift wrapping, since it was for a friend we said sure. She throws this bad boy together in about 10 minutes, we were blown away.

Advice on how to wrap a crown?

I made this carboard crown I plan on gifting my friend for the holiday. Because it is somewhat fragile I want to ensure it's wrapped carefully. Any tips/ideas on how to wrap it?

Chalk/Blackboard Look?

I am thinking to use black kraft paper this year for my presents and wanted to write on them to have a chalk board look.

Do you guys have any suggestions for how to do this without the chalk wiping away? I thought to use chalk markers, but I want that rough pattern that chalk gets and not something smooth or inky.

Thank you! ❤️

Wth is with the duality of wrapping paper? (Rant)

Since it's wrapping paper time again, I'm reminded of my irritation of finding good wrapping paper. Now personally I don't like wrapping paper that screams christmas, I find it really tacky looking. Usually I can find some great looking wrapping paper that I like, that still feel holiday/wintery but isn't so in your face about it. Now Joanns had some great wrapping paper options these past years, so I would usually would get a couple of rolls for like 5 dollars max. Usually on sale for half off though, and that's for about 16-20 linear feet which is great. But this year it seems to be lacking in anything great looking imo. This lead me to start looking online and at other stores which reminded of my irritation of all wrapping paper BS. At any of the big box stores I can find a roll of wrapping paper for no more than 10 to 15 dollars, and that's for the expensive stuff. On the flip side, online I keep finding wrapping papers I love from small business (on etsy and similar) but the same 15ft roll is at minimum of 40 dollars, I even seen rolls for 80. And all I can do is sit there an be like who the hell is buying this?? Now I understand economy of scales and stuff so I get big box stores being able to sell wrapping paper for dirt cheap. But seriously how expensive is it really to print wrapping paper?? I can't imagine it being more than 2-3 dollars a yard, so a standard 5 yard roll 10-15 dollars to print in small runs. That doesn't justify the selling price at all imo. I get the small business wants to make profits and such, but personally except for a really specific purpose, I would never spend more than $20 max on a roll of wrapping paper in the current market. Does anyone else have similar findings? Or am I just unjustly bothered by something utterly ridiculous.

Any tips for wrapping a stack of books?

I have three volumes of a manga I'd like to gift to someone this holiday. So far I have gone through half a roll of wrapping paper across six attempts trying to get it wrapped neatly by following YouTube tutorials but it keeps wrinkling and tearing so I have to start over. Any tips for wrapping items like this? About ready to admit defeat and just buy a gift sack and some tissue paper instead.

Finger substitute for bows?

Hi. My wife ties beautiful bows but is always calling me over so I can put my finger on the knot while she ties. I was wondering if there is a common household item that people use, or even a product I could buy her to simulate using another person's finger. Of course, I love our time together because gift wrapping is her hobby, but I'm not always around to lend a finger! Thanks!
