I envision I will get deferred which I don't find that bad b/c my first semester grades are shaping up to be straight a's so that hopefully can help me. Please let me know. Thanks
I know this is a huge longshot but I’m completely out of other ideas here. About 2 weeks ago I lost a pair of headphones (sennheiser momentum 4), black in a gray case. I’m 99% certain they’re just gone for good but I figure I’ll post just in case anyone has seen them.
For those who have taken math 125, what was the final like? I know it’s half multiple choice half work out problems. What were some major focus points on the final, and what did you study to prepare for it? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
My daughter is a freshman and really NEEDS a parking pass. She survived this semester finding random street parking and only got towed once.
She really needs parking because she works in turkey creek. What are the chances she can actually get a parking pass for spring and are there any tips or tricks to get one?
He dad is verbally abusive and holds giving her money over her head. I’d prefer her not to have to rely on him for cash to make ends meet and be able to work a few more hours next semester. Please help. 🙏
Edit: She just messaged me they emailed her she can finally buy one!! 🙏
I have a non-computer parking pass I bought for $450 for the whole year. Turns out I cannot come for the spring semester. Does anyone know if I can sell it to someone for the spring semester? Or do I have to return it? (if i can sell & ur interested lmk, i’ll reduce more than half price)
I'm a senior and need a random class to add so I'm a full time student next semester. Any interesting courses? I know the normal answers (Chocolate class, rock history class) but those are always full. Any obscure ones you guys recommend?
I was just curious if anyone knew what letter grade is required to pass Biology 101, TIA
Ayres always chimes two minutes before the hour. It's not enough to mess a schedule up but it's a definite quirk. Does anyone know why?
I made the mistake of applying to the honors college here at UTK, not knowing what that entails, so I had to take the first year honors seminar, which I attended around half of the time. I did most of the assignments, but I have a final grade of 70.
It’s just silly, cause it’s more of a bullshit class, and it’s going to tank my GPA, which otherwise would have been close to 4.0.
Is there anything I could do? Is it stupid to think of dropping the class now, would it still affect my GPA?
Hi! I'm considering going to grad school after I get my BFA, but I'm a bit concerned that it'll be super expensive or the classes will be completely overwhelming. I'd love to hear from former or current students in the program!
Hello!
I lost my parking pass last week and went in to get it replaced today and Parking Services says they’ve recently changed their policy and now charge the full $300+ to get a replacement hangtag. Surely this has to be against the rules or something?
I can’t afford a surprise $300 charge for the pass, and I’ve searched and searched for it (pretty sure it fell out of my car downtown). Anyone know something that can be done?
It’s still listed online as being a $15 replacement fee - shouldn’t they have to post the actual fee online?
i am taking ASST 374 during the mini term for a random elective and i’m wondering if i need the book? wasn’t sure if anyone else has taken this class and could help! my professor is ronald kalafsky
I’m probably way overthinking this, but for the instructor feedback in particular, I always think about what person to write my response—if it’s the professor reading it, I would write “you were xyz” but if someone else is reading I would say “[Professor Name] was xyz”
Idk, just a random thought I had
We’ve had our curtains open by themselves, things fly across the room, weird sounds, and when we jokingly tell the “ghost” to stop, the sounds turn off. We’ve even had the lights turn change without us touching them.
For all my in-state people how are you guys feeling in regards to getting in? I feel like I should get in but then I don’t know with the way everyone says they’ve become more competitive the past few years!! Either way for people who are set on attending UTK if attended how are you feeling waiting on that admissions decision😝??
Hey y’all. My friends and I are looking for a house for fall semester of next year. I am browsing the listings, and they all say “lease starting now.” What do I do if I want to start renting in August but want the security of knowing I have a place to stay?
Hey guys, I’m just looking for advice. Not doing to well and I just want to get all of these useless prerequisites out of the way. So I just finished ASL 111 and I’m now realizing it was a huge mistake to choose this to learn as I have ADHD and can’t process a single thing without them having to resign over and over again. I actually did quite enjoy learning about it, but I don’t think I’m going to pass the next level and I’m wondering if I can just choose a different language to start and it still be counted towards my SECOND language credit or does it not work this way?
Hello! I've got the vol block 75, and I know that I can spend 8$ 3 times a day at the pod markets. When do those meal equivalencies stop? I know the dining halls don't close until finals are over, but I'm not eating at the dining halls more than once a day. To take care of the rest of my meal swipes, should I spend them today and tomorrow? I was told the pod market equivalencies stop on the last day of actual classes (tomorrow).
not doing too well in chem and would like to drop. i’m doing this chem course with its lab (chem 122 and chem 123). is it possible to W chem 122 and keep chem 123?
Has anyone taken Fashion and Culture at UTK in general or specifically with Youngdeok Lee?
for those graduate students who had a December first priority application due date in previous years (or any in general tbh), how soon did you hear back? i’m just trying to plan out around what time i should go look for housing if i get accepted, as i’m out of state currently. i applied for a masters in microbiology if this helps. any advice on housing and the area in general, i’d love to hear!!
Hey everyone,
I’m posting again to remind everybody that we are still running out fundraising campaign for Ijams Nature Center here in Knoxville. For those who have not seen my previous post to the r/Knoxville subreddit, I’m part of a group of English 255 students who are raising money for Ijams Nature Center here in Knoxville. This fundraiser is utilizing Indiegogo to collect donations that will go to the Nature Center’s Education and Resource Management Departments. The funds going to their education departments will be used for the purchase of new Binoculars, which will be used for their Bird Watching and Nature Walk Activities. The funds going to Resource Management will be used to purchase a portable Fire Extinguishing pump, which will allow the nature center to put out smaller fires in remote locations that may not have an available water source. The campaign will remain open until 12/2, so with only a few days left, please donate quickly. Even the smallest donations help us get closer to our goal, and we even have perks provided by Cruze Farms that can be claimed in exchange for a donation. To view out campaign on Indiegogo, click here.
I have a 4.4 GPA, 27 ACT super score, and have taken many AP classes as well as participating in a few honor clubs, what are my chances of getting in? I as well did the early admission for the school in hopes of a potential easier chance of getting in (while I highly doubt that's the case, I just really hope!).
Hi! I am seeing conflicted information. I am trying to drop Chemistry now. It is not too late correct? I am at 17 credit hours now, so it would drop me to 14. I am ok if I have to repay financial aid because I am under 15 credit hours. However, when I go to drop the course, it is not allowing me too and says "must drop all connected courses." Does anyone know what this means?
Does anyone know the acceptance rate to the nursing school? Thanks!
Can you take EF online?
So I'm moving to Knoxville in a couple of months for my second year of college (I got waitlisted so I did the rocky top program and will be "transferred" to UTK) and will be moving with my parents (3 people). I'm from middle TN and live about 2 hours and 30 minutes away from Knoxville. Where I live, everything is super close by. 15 mins MAX.
So for housing, I'm wondering where its best to live? For me and my parents, we're looking for a 3 bedroom and 2 bath apartment and hopefully a close knit and beautiful community (hope that's not too much to ask for 😭). It would be nice if the travel to UTK is 15-20 minutes and I'm wondering if grocery stores, malls, etc are nearby. I'm thinking east Knoxville. I've also heard that the roads to UTK are "thin"?
Help me out! Also, are the towns in Knoxville really beautiful or is it a little "ghetto" maybe?
Hey all, senior in high school here. So far, I've been an A student with the occasional B, with my cumulative GPA being around a 4.3, and a total of 9 AP classes. However, during the second quarter of senior year, due to some family drama causing a mental health crisis/ having to miss lots of school, I will end up with 3 Cs on my report card for the quarter for the first time ever, and I'm worried I wont be able to bring up my semester average with my midterms regardless of how well I do on them. My admitted stats/ scores are high enough to be considered for the honors college, which would be great since you get some extra money and I'm an out of state student. In addition to this, I'm trying to major in biochemistry on a pre-med track and one of my Cs is in AP bio. I know UTK requires your senior year grades, so heres my question: If I fix my grades for the last two quarters so my semester average is better than the previous one, will UTK see the 3 Cs (god forbid they end up on my semester transcript) and revoke aid/ honors consideration/ my acceptance? Also, if I write a letter explaining the situation to the admissions office, will they take that into consideration? Thank you guys!
