Hi guys, I got a notification that we must attend the New Student Orientation and the Online Pre-Orientation. Usually when is that? What month is it? Because I live in another country, I want to know the exact time to book the plane ticket :')
Hey, UNLV Rebels!
I’m a student from UNR, but when it comes to voting, we’re all on the same team. The federal election is here, and this is our chance to actually have a say in what matters to us – things like climate policy, student loans, and a lot of other decisions that’ll shape our futures. Whether it's your first time voting or you’re already a pro, make it count. So grab some friends, hit the polls, and let’s show up for Nevada. Go Rebels, go vote – let’s make it happen! 🗳️
i have to fill 3 electives and trying to find some easy classes to take just to have an easy last semester. Let me know your suggestions! Preferably online classes and if i can avoid it no purchase of textbooks but let me know your suggestions.
I am a first semester freshman with no GPA yet so I can’t apply to anything on campus… I’ve applied and interviewed everywhere around my house (I live on the east side) and I’ve recently started applying to places on Maryland pkwy near campus. I’ve applied to over 70 jobs in the last year or so and I’m still jobless!! Does anyone know of any job openings ANYWHERE? Also unfortunately I’m 17 which kinda limits where I can work on the strip. Please help 😭😭😭😭😭
I am also taking Chem 242 next semester so I’m trying to pick the class with less coursework.
Is anyone doing the challenge and want to do something technology related focus?? Im a free agent and need a team.
Hey guys! Can anyone tell me or suggest which class to take between the two? I’m planning on taking either one for spring 2025 but have no idea about both the courses’ structure and all that. Also the professors? UNLV does not provide the names of the professors when I search them up. Pls help!! Thanks.
Hello, I am an incoming freshman next year and was wondering what exactly the IAA is? Is it required to do so?
I’m a first-generation graduate student starting this upcoming spring, and I was wondering when I can start signing up for classes. For undergrad, enrollment dates were always listed in my UNLV Student Center, but I checked and don’t see anything there now. Could anyone let me know the registration date for grad students?
hi guys! wondering which i should take for my gen ed requirement… i would be taking it online also :) thank u!
Hello everyone ! I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on acc 412(fraud examination) with prof Jennifer Oyadomari or acc 420(internal auditing) with prof Paulette Tandy? Any feedback is appreciated :)
if anyone is interested in hiring a personal trainer and getting into the gym, feel free to reach out on here via message! just a broke college student trying to help people achieve their fitness goals and make some income 🥲
edit: i’m extremely flexible and willing to work around your schedule and pricing (wayyy less than you’d pay for someone working at the gym itself). i’m also open to discussing reliability and credentials to get to know me more!
Hi guys! I’m a newer student here at UNLV and have found it hard to make friends during my first semester. I’m a 23F and really wanting to find some girl friends so if there are any girls struggling to find friends too pls DM me I’d love to connect and maybe go to the gym or get coffee! Girls only please :)
I am arriving next semester and haven’t been able to find a group where I can talk to current and future exchange students from the college. I would like to be able to ask them some questions on their experience. Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction?
Any recommendation on which professor should I take take for next semester? Also I’m a CS Major, I heard the easiest Lab Science course is Geology is that true? Thank you!
i’m taking the psychology capstone in the spring, and right now i’m between taking it with Andrea Kayl and Meghan Pierce based off of the rate my prof reviews on all of the profs offering 490. I’ve taken Pierce for 305 in the past and I liked her, but i’ve seen no reviews on her for 490. Kayl looks good, but just wondering if anyone has any good PSY 490 experiences!
also, what does the course typically entail? i’m assuming it’s research based, but i hate presentations so also wondering if anyone offers recorded ones instead of zoom!
Hello, I am wondering if anyone has experience with the MS in data analytics and if it can be done online.
I work in the gaming industry and am looking to develop my analytical skills while also having the opportunity to work with gaming data, possibly doing some research/projects with the IGI. Is this possible and am I able to take some electives like Gaming Statistics? Do I need to take the GRE/GMAT? What do the job prospects look like post program? Thanks guys I appreciate it!
I just applied for grad school at UNLV for the M.A.T. in Secondary Education. How likely is it that I get accepted? Is it competitive? I submitted what I think is a thorough letter of intent and got two very strong letters of reccomendations from my old professors and supervisors in undergrad. Instead of the Praxis Core I submitted my ACT scores, which was listed as an acceptable form, since I wouldn't have gotten the results back in time before the deadline. :s
Any Russians, Ukrainians or Eastern Europeans going to UNLV? Just seeing if there are others out there maybe make club out of it or just have a new social group
Who is the best math 181 professor for the spring semester. My options are Carryn Warren Hossein Tenrani Adam Parks Dane Bartlett
Has anyone taken any classes with him?
If he has, could you please provide a review of him as if you were to post on rate my professor
For instance, is he a tough grader ? Does he give too much assignments? How is his class and teaching method?
Hey all! I am in a pretty bad situation right now, and I'm debating whether or not I should apply with my preferred name or leave it blank. I'm mostly concerned about what gets sent in the mail and what my parents are able to see. If my parents were to discover the name I want to go by, more likely than not I'd be kicked out. Obviously if I can help it I'd really like for that scenario to not go down. I'm also unsure about how difficult it would be to get my preferred name and gender changed after I apply when I'm in a better spot! If anyone could attest to getting these changes after already being accepted or give their advice, that'd be so wonderful thanks!
Is anyone looking to sell their Steam Deck OLED? I am looking to buy one, please PM me.
Does anyone have Mr. Bowers for 449A (Literature class)? I’m trying to find someone to study with, as well as getting caught up on the class notes.
As of now, I have 16 credits, with 4 of them in chemistry. I’ve been doing my best in this class while managing my other classes, work, and personal life, but it’s just not working out. All my other classes are A’s, except for one B, while my chemistry grade is currently at 44%. I see that tomorrow is the last day to drop classes, but I have FAFSA this semester, so I’m unsure if I should stick with it to try to improve my grade or drop it.
I'm really worried about how this might affect my financial aid or GPA. Since there isn’t time to speak to an advisor, any information or advice would be really helpful to me.
