Took 351 with Herve, who is co teaching with Justin and Ting.
Anyone who has taken it in the past with these professors, what were the cutoffs for passing in previous semesters?
I am at a 68.9% (before any curve/adjustment) exactly rn and sweating. Fucked up the first two mid terms but came back very strong for the last mid term and final.
Thoughts on the school of public health fitness center for commuters? Does it have a full locker room and everything?
Ok so I need some scheduling advice. I am a sophomore pre-PA gen bio major with 63 credits. I need to take BSCI222 and CHEM271/272 next semester, and I was also planning on taking A&P (BSCI201). I’m also going to take an easy gen ed (HIST201). Is this completely undoable? I don’t know when else I would take A&P considering physics 1 and 2 is junior year and i’ve heard those are brutal, and I can’t afford to take the class at UMD over summer or winter as I’m out of state and not sure if community college classes transfer to PA schools.
based off the npc i get $16741 (instate income over 99k) will this amount be likely to decrease or increase based off your experiences.
Hello, I am an International student [Indian] who came home for vacation and returning post Jan 20, is it really necessary to be worried about Trump's government coming into power? Moreover the charges to change the dates of return is around $1700 - $1800. Any advise is welcome
I am currently in my 2nd quarter at Baltimore poly technic and I am wondering what I can do to increase my chances of getting into UMD. I am in the normal stem honors pathway but next year I hope to do AP capstone. I am part of ethics, ISAMR (international student led artic monitoring and research) and MESSA (middle Eastern south asian student association). I am from a middle class family and got a weighted GPA of around 3.4. I am also planning at interning at a law firm this summer because I hope to be a lawyer. Any advice helps!
looking to actually join some clubs this sem since i’m not in FC anymore and will have the time 🙏🙏
Does anyone have experience transferring units and then pulling people in for scc? For context I’m a sophomore currently in scc and next year I hope to bring in some of my friends but into a different unit ( mainly because some people in my unit are releasing). Does anyone have experience with this? If so how did it go, were there at least a few empty units to choose from? Or is this a difficult thing to do?
Does anyone know what the curve is going to be?
I just got an email about the acceptance of my enrollment in the MTAP, however, I am confused when it says "This offer of admission to MTAP is contingent on your enrollment for the upcoming semester at one of the MTAP partner community colleges by January 20, 2025". After reading that, I am under the impression that in order for me to become officially accepted into this program, I have to enroll into a partnered community college, however, I am already enrolled in one (Frederick Community College). How do I show that I am enrolled in this college?
I also read that you only have to submit an official transcript if you have completed a semester at the partnered community college but in my case, I had not completed a semester during the time of application. Does that mean that I will have to send an official transcript to UMD? If so, when and how should I do that as I have read that the University of Maryland will contact the community college itself and obtain the official transcript from there?
He needs to be thicc enough to give him googly eyes and hats for special occasions.
In before "find him outside", but most of them are pebbles. I need a ROCK that I can love and be loved by for the rest of my life.
I took 135 with vedernikov (don’t do it, awful prof) and I may have failed. I need to raise my grade by 3.29% to pass. I already emailed my advisor, but then realized that technically the final grades aren’t out yet. Am I screwed or do I have a chance?
On the student schedule page, it's still under "Waitlisted Courses" but says "Received" next to the course title. It doesn't appear on the daily schedule graphic on the student schedule page, but it does on the registration drop-add page. On the waitlist check-in page, it says I have no waitlisted courses. It's been like this for several days.
I just thought this was weird because I had another class go through the waitlist without this issue. Anybody else have this problem?
hi i’m a pre med that’s currently a bio major but im thinking of switching to public health science. does anyone know if med school would see me as a less competitive applicant since im not majoring in a hard science? or has anyone else switched from bio to PHS and can offer some advice? thanks :)
Has anyone gotten any news or know anything about the date for when they release the admission decisions. It says Mid December but it’s past and they have not released anything yet .
My org is trying to host a movie screening for around 100 people. The HJ Patterson atrium would likely be too small, Hoff is certainly too big. Any advice?
This year, I live in a semi-suite with three rooms, and all but one of us have a roommate (it’s the one single room we have). Mine moved out at the end of the semester after she got into courtyards, and now I have the room to myself. Is there any way to better guarantee that Res Life doesn’t put someone in my dorm for the spring semester? Like idk if I should tell my RA or email res life that I would prefer a single (I doubt it would work) or leave it alone and hope.
You can see my other post but I’m pretty sure this semester will destroy my gpa from 3.03 to 2.82 and if a take a 4 credit winter class and get an A I will still be below 3.0 (2.97) I’m feeling super defeated but what can I do now. I’m planning on taking a 4 credit class over the winter and creating another project. I’m getting a letter of rec from my cmsc lecturer and Ive been an officer one of the biggest clubs for a year on campus but I feel like those aren’t enough to overcome it . Umbc cs to hopefully umd infosci pls any advice is welcome
hi all! this week i submitted an interest request form for terrapin athletics student employment and internship opportunities. i selected majority of the categories they have to offer like equipment and operations & events just to list a couple. anyways would anyone know by chance when i could hear something back from them? i am really eager to be apart of one of these roles especially going into the spring semester as this is something i would really enjoy and would gratefully chosen for
Hi all, I’ve been having a hard time making friends at UMD (partially my fault bc i don’t put myself out there) but I want to make more next semester. Are people more friendly and willing to make friends because there’s going to be a wave of spring students coming or no? What are some ways I can make friends? Thank you.
I am tired of sitting and reading stuff. Go crazy
Did anyone get their decisions yet?
does anyone know the mignerey curve for 135????
Does anyone know if mellet curves math 246?
This semester I took MATH120 and I’m finishing with a B. I’m pretty average at math but I want to switch majors and one of the requirements is 140. Would I be okay skipping MATH121? I’ve heard a lot about how difficult 140 is so I’m unsure whether or not taking 140 would be the right choice since I’m not the strongest in math.
Thanks in advance!!
Hey, I have just received an admit from UMD for its Masters in Information Systems program for fall 2025. As an international student, from whatever I've researched, the opinions are mixed. My biggest concern is not getting internships due to most of the companies being affiliated to the government in some way. Is that really the case? I thought I'd still get internships from the Baltimore area right, which would be private sector companies? Its a great school regardless and I love the curriculum of my program, just needed some advice.
im 6th on waitlist for stat400 class that has 27 current filled seats. is there any chance ill get in?
