Hi, I'm an international student here and do not know much about anything. I need to get my allergies checked, can anyone suggest doctors or clinics which is covered by SHIP. It'll be great if the location is in College Park or near. Thank you.
Is this normal or should I reach out?
I want to go to UMD fall 2025 through MTAP and so the deadline for that is in 5 days. I only see that there's an application however, I just want to make sure that there isn't anything else for me to submit before Nov. 15?
Has anybody taken EDHD306 with Alina Maki? Thinking of taking it next semester for my FSAR req, but I’m already taking a lot of other credits and don’t want to sign up for a class that’s going to be super difficult/time-consuming. Any advice?
im sorry (also 2 years later)
I am trying to create a video series where I am standing looking at a camera as I click through a slideshow (camera sees me and the slideshow). I am not familiar with most rooms on campus.
I am looking for a room where I can use something like a smart board or large sized screen. Is this available for students somewhere ? And is it in an appropriate area where I can record and not annoy others ?
Thanks.
Trying to find some cool wall decor for my dorm, and I don't wanna pay shipping, lmk if theres anything in the area

I'm going to be a senior this coming semester, and my registration time is set for 11/11 at 9 AM. Despite this, some of the electives I want to take are already running a waitlist, including 300 level courses. How does it shake out that people going into their senior year aren't given the first choice of classes?
i can't get it working with a certificate for the life of me 😭
securew2 doesn't work at all and i have to manually configure with PEAP and no cert :(
Thinking about taking one of these next semester, anyone have any experience with any of these to help me decide, anything helps.
I’m trying to decide my major. What major leads to the best pay and stability?
Hi, I'm looking for studio/apartment recommendations for the 25-26 year with parking. Budget is around 2k which all studios around CP seems to be around anyways.
From the research I've done so far I basically narrowed it down to the Aster or The Alloy since all the other ones seems to have history of horrible experiences. Are there any that I am missing or are those basically the best apartments in the area? I am a CS major so I'll be walking to Iribe often but don't mind the extra walk from Aster since there is a crunch and trader joes close by.
The Graduate Labor Union (GLU) is holding a rally in Hornbake Plaza at noon on Nov. 20. Join us to demand that UMD recognize our union and meet us at the bargaining table. Undergrads and community members are very welcome to join in solidarity! We'll have free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Make some noise with us!
-------------
Context: As per Maryland state law, UMD is not required to recognize our union and collectively bargain with us. While grad workers have fought this battle in the MD state legislature yearly, UMD continues to spend money and time testifying to ensure the law remains unchanged. Luckily, the legislative route is not the only way to have UMD meet us at the bargaining table -- UMD can choose to voluntarily recognize our union, which would allow us to bypass the legislature entirely. Several universities voluntarily recognized their own grad workers' unions, including Georgetown, NYU, and University of Michigan. A supermajority of UMD grad workers have signed union authorization cards. It's time for UMD to recognize us and meet us at the bargaining table!
You can read more about why we're unionizing here!
Hey, I was wondering if this course load seemed a little heavy based on anyone's experience? I am not sure if this would be a good workload or if I should replace one of these classes with a gen ed so I will not stress myself out?
Investments BMGT 343
Advanced Financial Management BMGT 440
Taxation of Individuals BMGT 323
Intermediate Accounting II BMGT 311
Financial Markets BMGT 341
To put it in context the "hardest" workload I've had so far, this semester's schedule has been 3 harder major classes, one easy upper elective, and easy required class for the major, and I have been performing rather well.
Hi! If you're an iSchool student, please fill out this quick survey on your experience with the iSchool. Thank you!
What questions should I expect for this interview ? Should I study anything my interview is tomorrow.
Hiiii, basically what the caption says. The survey is pretty simple and low stakes, just looking for some Asian American students in Smith or STEM majors to share experiences of high competition in your major, specifically amongst Asian American peers, and its effect on your mental health.

What are the pros and cons of USG for nursing vs Baltimore? I’m in the guaranteed acceptance pathway and cannot figure out what’s a better option. Really need advice!!
I try to use nite ride from Cstone to alloy but no matter when I make the request, it shows up this to me. Isn’t nite ride available from 5:30pm-7:30am?
Ever since I moved into Hagerstown the place has been chaotic, shitty and the water is horrendously nasty. I haven't gotten acne this bad since 8th grade and it's really pissing me off how this place even passes healthcode.
My mom is visiting me next week and I want to bring her to the pool.
I am trying to decide the best place to live next year and am between these options. Anyone have an opinions on any of them or anything helpful to help me decide? Thanks!
Im a freshman at UMD and im about to add food science as a double major. I know it’s a small department (the basement office kind of reminded me of a dungeon LOL) but I have yet to meet anyone else on campus majoring in food science. Could anyone in the major let me know how the major , resources, and department is overall? Also if anyone has any tips on how to get more involved with the major!
I'm a student too and I want to know what you all think about the election. Do you think that because Trump wants to get rid of a lot of governmental departments including department of education that will affect the universityl interms of enrollment and the financial aid they give out? Do you think that the university will step up if he actually gets rid of Federal aid? And do you think that without a lot of the funding that UMD probably gets from the government they might start cutting things? Even mention anything else you can think of that might be affected from Trump's plan.
