Does anyone know of places that are hiring in downtown Troy? I'm looking for somewhere I can walk to from Little Italy. The only thing I'm not really looking for is server or line cook jobs.
I’m considering a job offer in Troy. I don’t know a thing about the area. I have young children. Any suggestions on close neighborhoods to consider living if were to take the job?
My partner and I just found two young cats on the Congress St bridge. One is orange and one black - they don't seem to be fully grown yet. They look like they've been outside a while but aren't afraid of people. My hunch is that they were dumped but if anyone has lost these sweeties, message me please.
Not going to post pictures publicly yet for their safety.
Title says it all . F43 , new in the US and new in town , busy mom of two small children, it would be great to speak my native tongue every now and then .
Having Xmas dinner in a restaurant this year. What is the best place to have a special dinner (delicious and festive)? 30 mile radius of Troy.
I know there are resale apps and FB marketplace but I wanted to first see if there is somewhere local I can take it for a decent offer. Thank you!
Need a new burner in the gas stove. My old repair person is asking for 209 and the cost of the part.
Which seems a bit steep as we both know what is broken on it.
Thank you!
Where can I vote in Troy this year?
*Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to read and reply to my post. My flight to Albany is booked, with a rental car and a downtown Troy hotel. I am working on my list of apartments to visit and I am feeling overall much more confident about the visit and the move. Cheers!*
Hello. I'll be moving to the area from Texas in the next 1-2 months. I've been reading previous Reddit posts, please let me know if I am missing anything!!
Appreciate any feedback!!! Looking forward to living in a BLUE state!
Hey yall, Im just curious if any bars or anything are having fun election night events. It seems better than drinking my problems away at home.
A few friends and I are planning to go to an Engineers game soon and I was wondering if there’s anything we should know before we go? Mainly I’m wondering if we should bring our own snacks/drinks and if alcohol is allowed. Any other tips are appreciated
I was at last night's Troy Glow block party, which was just the right amount of fun and weird to briefly transport me back to a very specific pre-pandemic Troy vibe. The last few months (and let's be honest, the last few years as a whole) have been real downers for the city, and the magic that brought in so many creatives and outside energy over the last decade plus has faded. I haven't been to an event in a long time now that felt so positive. Troy Glow runs until the end of this week, and there are two big events this weekend. Check them out, and see if you feel the same?
Howdy! Our car was stolen from next to our house (505 pawling ave) this morning between 715-725
It’s a red Kia Seltos, missing the passenger side door handle. License plate GPE7335
Please let us know if you see anything, Thank you.
There is a police report filed, looking for help anywhere. Thanks!
Hey! Following the title, I am 21 (soon 22) and new to New York. I just moved to Troy and I'm looking to make some friends around the area. I am not in college, and starting soon (hopefully) I'll be working evening shift at a job and don't know how I'll have the time and places to meet people. I'm alright with going out late, especially on weekends to meet people tho. Also, what are some cool places to check out? I'm a musician, classically trained on Oboe, if there is an orchestra around. I'm also a producer if there is a music scene around the area. I'm into a lot of different things, like gaming, languages (speak German fluently, learning Swahili and ASL), going out for drinks/coffee, and really anything social. Not huge into sports, but im alright being around sports people for the fun. I'm not shy to hanging out with various age groups (above 18 pls), though I would preferably like to make some friends in my bracket specifically (20-25). Lemme know if there are any meetups, or if you and your friends specifically would like to meet me somewhere in the city to get to know each other.
I’m sure that ESPN will black out the rangers game today. Does any local bar televise the game and will likely be playing it?
I just moved here 7 months ago and I usually drive the 40 minutes to my old mechanic if I need something but I can’t really drive my car right now and need someone in town who can help. Someone who is fair and won’t scam me 😭 please
The place up by Hannaford is good, so is Sunhee’s but they’re tiny. Any other recommendations for the best pork dumplings?
Hi everyone! I am looking for a male roommate to take the lease of one of the rooms in a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment from December/January. The lease is till July 31, 2025.

Trojans, the Friends of the Troy Public Library are happy to announce one of our favorite annual events: I Love My Library at Market Block Books on Sunday November 17.
Here's how it works. You can shop at Market Block Books located on River St. in downtown Troy or at their online store - as long as the merchandise purchase it made on 11/17, 20% of the sales will go towards the Troy Public Library. It's a great time to stock up on books you're excited about or ones you plan to gift for the holidays. If you don't see something you like, you can ask staff to help you order something and if you pay on the day of the event, the Library will still receive 20% of the sale.
Want to support your local library even more? The Troy Public Library will have a selection of books they are hoping will be gifted to them to add to the collection. You can buy a book that will then be donated to the library and 20% of that sale also goes toward the Library - your gift counts twice!
Start making your list now, the event is in two weeks!
