I just got a new phone and I like to have privacy when I’m on my phone. But my biggest thing right now is why are there so many privacy screen protectors so expensive??? Like everywhere I look the are nearly $60-$70. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get one for a decent price??? (At least somewhere that isn’t Amazon)
My husband has two very old Mac laptops that won’t turn on. I want to recycle them but he’s worried that they need to be wiped first because of old tax documents etc. He also has a dream that he can extract old pictures from the computers as well. I believe this was pre-cloud. Can I extract pictures or is there someplace that does this? Can I wipe them? Or should I just recycle them as-is?
Please be patient with me, I'm a complete novice when it comes to tech!
I live in a very old house with thick walls and floors. Because of this we struggle with our WiFi reaching the upstairs, where we use it the most to stream video and play console games.
I made the mistake of buying a 15m long ethernet cable, without checking on what exactly I was getting. I had planned on running the cable from the wall outlet, up the flight of stairs and having the router on the landing upstairs. Of course, the cable is an ethernet cable to connect from the router to a device, not connecting the router to the wall outlet.
I was wondering if I bought a TP-Link WiFi Access Point and connected it to the router via the ethernet cable running up the stairs, would that increase the range of the network?
I have used the plug-in range extenders before, but have never got on well with them as they create new networks and find devices never seem to connect to the correct ones when you want them to. What I would like is to make the network stronger upstairs. Do I buy the WiFi Access Point, or return the ethernet cable and buy the correct one to move my router upstairs?
So for context, I had 2 monitors connected to my pc some time ago. Back then I had an nvidia gtx 750 ti which has 1 hdmi port. one of my monitors is connected to my pc with a dvi-d to hdmi cable, since it doesnt have an hdmi port, and the other is connected with an hdmi to hdmi cable.
Recently I got an rtx 3060 which also has 1 hdmi port and I cant figure out how to connect both monitors to my PC. I tried plugging one of them in the motherboard hdmi slot.
In the BIOS settings there's an option to enable IGFX multi-monitor, but even with that enabled, it doesnt work. Please help.
Thanks in advance
I have earbuds for everyday use, but I wouldn’t mind looking into a comfortable set of headphones that can help keep me focused when I’m writing or studying.
However, also could use a set of headphones for my PlayStation, and generally gaming. My ceiling fan is a little loose, so it rattles just enough to but the hell out of me when I’m trying to lose myself in a game.
Problem is, I’m on a budget and as far as I can tell, PlayStation doesn’t do bluetooth, and my Iphone/ipad doesn’t do wired.
I’d rather just buy one set of headphones, with bluetooth and plug in to PS4, but as far as I could tell, I couldn’t find a pair that did that also wasn’t an ad (and thus, not necessarily reliable on giving me real info)
Has anyone got a headset they like? I’m willing to put a little money into it to get better audio quality, but I also don’t have a ton to spend either, go figure.
Thanks in advance!

I've been plugging in my Galaxy S9 phone while using a backround chrome tab to play rain white noise while i sleep, every night.
Im not sure if its just me... But i feel like my phone battery is running out faster. I did some googling and apparently S9's prevent overcharge while charging, so i figure the battery should be fine. But i thought i should ask if anyone thought differently. Do you think my phone battery is being overcharged and is slowly degrading? Or am i fine?
Namaste,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Shakti, and I am a first-year BCA student from Odisha. I chose this course because I couldn't afford a B.Tech, and I also had less interest in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics during my +2 Science. My main focus was on IT and English, and I believe my English communication skills are quite good, which is an advantage in my college.
After watching many videos and learning more about the industry, I’ve realized that the real-world work in IT is different from what I had imagined. I’ve always wanted to build things that can benefit society, not for business purposes, but simply for the joy of contributing. However, I now feel that if I get a job, I might end up doing repetitive and uninteresting tasks.
I believe you are the right person to guide me. Could you please suggest something that will help me ensure my career remains exciting and fulfilling, while also securing a job that offers more than ₹35,000 per month?
Thank you for taking the time to read my email. Whether you respond or not, I truly appreciate it.

My friend has a 2019ish Sharp tv 55in i believe, the power cord was cut a third from the plug. I know there’s a way to replace it yourself. So what specs or whatever would we keep in mind when gaining another cord to splice together? Repair people can be rather expensive, so what is absolutely needed to know when replacing such a thing? Other than removing the cord from a similar tv.
Hi everyone, I designed a poster in Canva which has tiny texts, and when I downloaded it I noticed the texts got quite blurry (because they are tiny). So I went online to look for tools for upscale, unblur, sharpen, etc, but none of them seems to work. I also am not willing to pay a subscription just to unblur a PDF. Does anyone have any advice what I should use/ do? I have Canva premium but it is not helpful. I chose PDF Print and the DPI is 300, which is already maximum I believe, but the texts still turn out somewhat blurry. When printed, the color become less vibrant and sharp, making the text even harder to read.
So.. Meet The "Old Bessie", a 15yo pc that's seen lots of upgrades, with 8gb ddr3 ram, a 6 core AMD CPU, an asus radeon GPU and respectable amount of memory she's being used for gaming (BeamNG.drive, My Summer Car, Mon Bazou) she takes those games at an unstable 30FPS which to me is enough, concidering she stands like 7cm away from a heater (i can't move the desk because it's in the living room) however, she has issues. I'm using windows 7 ultimate with an acceptable antivirus. But majority of programs have cut support, and if something gets sad to a point where i need to reset the memory, I'll be unable to download. so I'd like to know wether i could get win11 and still run everything smoothly, or I'd need to get more ram and other parts. I don't have the money for a new PC currently, and i want to stay by windows because my mom can barely operate win7. she mainly uses it for solitaire and mahjong games, and for searching up crosswords passwords.
I got a series S today, to upgrade from my Xbox one. After plugging it in everything in hand is blurry and pixelated, with the rendering being pretty horrific too.
I’ve done some research and it seems that the TV is usually the issue here. I play on a big TV, that’s 60Hz and 1080p. So maybe that lines up.
However, my Xbox one seemed to have better quality, I feel like I’ve downgraded. That’s not just an exaggeration I genuinely feel that this is worse graphics and absolutely worse rendering than my Xbox one, which was on the same TV. Why would that be?
If it is the case that the TV is the issue can anyone recommend a budget monitor or tell me what to look for when buying one? Like what Hz and refresh rate and screen size? Thankyou!
I know I sound stupid here and I’m sorry, not very knowledgeable on Hz, refresh rates etc.
Hey all, as the title says I'm on the hunt for a device to listen to my music. I've looked on Amazon, but I'm still just plain unsure.
For context, I have had the same iPhone for at least a decade now. I don't use it as a phone now (I've since switched to Google Pixel, which works awesome), it's solely for listening to music. All my music is in iTunes (what I consider my "main" music anyway, all the music I've bought). Now after all this time the battery life is chaotic at best, I have to keep it plugged in and on battery saver and then it usually lasts like 5-6 hours unplugged. But now the charging cable and port is wonky so I have to fenegle it each time. Getting to be a bit much of a hassle so now I'm looking for something else.
So my question is what can I get, what are my options?
Preferably I'd like a device that allows me to access iTunes, is capable of supporting YouTube and/or YouTube Music, has good storage, and has a headphone audio jack. I can be flexible on some of these (ie the device doesn't support iTunes but does YouTube Music, or has a music app better than iTunes or that can download my iTunes library, etc), but it has to have a wired headphone jack. I know that last one may be a bit weird, but I've had bad experience with wireless earbuds so I stick with wired. Audiobook capability is a plus but not overly necessary.
Any advice/recommendations are welcome and appreciated thanks! Or if I'm in the wrong subreddit to ask, a point in the right direction will also help.
Not sure if this is where to post this, if anyone has other pages you think would be a better place please let me know! A few weeks ago I spilt a whole bottle of coffee in my tote bag and somehow (bc I'm an idiot) I didn't notice so it was in there for a about a week. When I did notice and took everything out I noticed it had gotten inside my camera case, it's just an old cannon from when I was a kid that I keep in a zip up case. The camera itself is fine but it reeks as well as the case itself. It's really weird bc nothing else in the bag stinks it just smells like coffee but the camera stinks of rotten milk and it's so bad I can smell it just when I walk past the camera. I tried wiping down every part of the camera I could access with alcohol even inside the battery compartment and soaked the case in hot soapy water but they both still stink. I obviously can't find anything online bc this isn't a problem normal people have!! Does anyone know what I can do to get rid of the smell in the camera? I don't want to buy a new one bc this one is so special to me, but I might have to👎🏽
Also not sure if this helps but it's a canon powershot A630, if i have to I will take it apart and clean the inside I'm just unsure of what is safe to use to clean it or if there's an easier way.

So my mom is a teacher and a student of hers is having problems with all the noise in the classroom. We need a setup that will allow her to connect a microphone directly to a pair of noise-canceling headphones. She has a MacBook air in her classroom for her computer and my mom has a Samsung phone.
I opened my phone and noticed my games disappeared they are still downloaded but i cant find them on my screen unless i search for them, i tried restarting and reinstalling the games and both didn't work
I'd like to find a good lens (tele, macro) &/or adapter. Nothing too fancy or expensive - I just want to get some better pix (flowers, landscapes, sunsets, etc).
I've heard some good things about Moment, but I'm a little lost.
I am a minister considering using AI to assist me with administrative tasks and background research for writing projects. If I were going to pay for a premium service, what would be the best platform?
I read in a reputable newspaper (a while back now) that it was far safer to do your online banking on a PC or laptop, since phones do not have the same level of financial security features. Can anyone confirm whether this is correct (particularly in 2024)?
Hello everyone, I'm looking for a projector as a present for my friends. Unluckly this is my budget, but: -we will use it for movies, mostly in dsrk or at night -we will use it in a garage, with free space and adaptability for what concern the projector place
-I was hoping for a 100'' screen, or around that -I chose Apollo p60, nexigo pj40, BenQ w1070, Wimius k9, among the others thousands of projectors( but i'm a noob in projectors). Have you some advice or some direct experience with these projector?
Thank you for any advice you will give me
OK, y'all here are my list of questions.
I have an iPhone 12 Pro. It still has a Sim card slot. I really love it for travel because it's a lot cheaper to get Sim cards than EMS. I hate esim. Also I live abroad 9 to 10 months out of the year.
I need to get new phone for the purposes of shooting content, etc. (old is getting janky) for my work. I'm debating getting a phone in Canada so that it has the Sim card slot although it's $300 more in Canada then usd after tax etc (I have doe the math).
Is there any way around the E-sim? Could I keep my iPhone 12 Pro and convert the physical Sim cards to eSIM and then transfer them over to my new phone each time I go to a new country? Is there some device that is designed for converting local sim cards to esim for travel? Has anyone figured out a solution to these problems? It drives me nuts the idea of Esim only for travel. I'm wondering whether long-term it would be more cost-effective or whether I'm wasting money by buying it in Canada.
Please do not suggest switching to android I need to do a lot of Photoshop work between my iPad, computer and phone and there's lots of transferring files and AirDrop saves me so much time so switching ecosystems not really an option as far as my work goes. Help me internet you are my only hope!
My mom is encountering some serious work misconduct as i attempting to gather evidence against her employer to report him, they mostly have meetings through Microsoft teams, she uses her iphone to join the meetings and she wants to find a way to record them without everyone else knowing. She has tried to record them before, by asking the admin to record the meeting, and even in one of those recordings he had made her cry, when attempting to get the recording, her boss refused to give her the video, and they deleted it. So now she needs to deal will it herself. Is there any way in which she can use the screen recording feature of her iphone so that both the audio of everyone in the meeting can be heard?? pls i’m rlly worried abt her.
