I've never liked the idea of the base unit storing water, just in case it leaks overnight and I find out the next morning that my floor is ruined.
Is it possible to not store water in the base unit and instead manually fill the robot vacuum with water?
Need a robot for vacuuming and mopping. Floors in the house are carpet and laminate.
Been burnt years earlier with a Roborock S5 which died after only a year and half. Was expensive at the time. Don't want to blow more money and it not last.
Which would you go for? Eufy is £400 Dreame is only £50 more at £450.
Ps I've never liked the idea of the base unit storing water, just in case it leaks overnight and I find out the next morning. I'm assuming I can manually fill the Dreame vacuum with water?
I've heard that the water isn't actually that dirty, but it doesn't take long for bacteria to breed in the warm water that gets expelled, resulting in thick black sludge eventually and an unpleasant smell in the waste reservoir.
I've also heard that mouthwash can help with this issue really well, but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced it. Would using a hard-wired UV lamp to kill the bacteria be a more sustainable solution?
Hello, first post here.
Since the people in my house are getting old (1 grandma, unable to walk. 2 aunts in their 60s, and my mother), I need a reliable robot vacuum to mop the house reliably.
My house is 2 floors, 15x8 meters for the land size. 3BR 2RR. I'm blind when it comes to robot vacuum, so please guide me.
For now, I'm interested in several models. Dreame L10/Pro/Ultra Xiaomi X20+ Bardi X-STM (local brand, I don't know if they sell this overseas)
Thank you.
So I found several threads where in order to get the Shark to clean a specific room at a specific time, or to have multiple schedules in a day, you need to use an Alexa routine. Now, let's just put aside the absolute ridiculousness that in this day and age that isn't a built in feature inside the app (our Roborock we had downstairs had NO issues with this) I figured I'd give it a shot. Well, when I say "Alexa, tell shark to clean Downstairs Back" it asks for my robot name, so I tell it "Robomop" and sure enough, it sends out the robot. The only issue is, I checked the app and its starting off by mopping. Ok, so maybe if I replace "clean" with "vacuum" it'll fix it, right? Nope, it starts off by mopping. Why would the default to even be mopping before vacuuming??? Has anyone else figured out a way around this or is this looking like it's going to be an Amazon return?
So, my wife and I are trying to decide what kind of robot to get for our apartment. We are located in the USA. Apartment has largely luxury vinyl planning, with just the 2 bedrooms being carpeted, 1400sqft total. No big pets, just a bird. I'd love to pay less than $1200-$1300 but I also want something that works.
Anyways ... I read a Times article tonight saying not to bother with combo robots yet because they are incapable of being good at both mopping and vacuuming.
That said, I know many people here own combo machines and I'm not totally opposed to the idea of them. The real problem here is decision fatigue and not being able to really know which of these machines, or which combination of machines, will do the job we want. Every single machine has reviews saying "this was garbage and didn't work or broke within a month." I am disabled and on a fixed income. This makes coughing up a bunch of money a big deal and I just want something reliable, and functional, that actually does what it advertises to a truly reasonable degree.
Thanks for reading this word vomit. I'm frustrated and open to hearing any experienced users suggestions.
Couple weeks ago one of my Roborock S5 vacuums started acting weird so I decided to reset wifi on it. The surprise was that it is not on the list of new devices. Mi Home account location is US. Is anyone else having this issue? It there a way to bypass it not charging the region?
I have had this Shark robot vacuum (Model RV9116ZXUS) for a little over a year. And I love it! However, the dang brushroll keeps throwing an error even though I’ve cleaned it several times. I think I’ve found the culprit, but now am having a hard time getting access to what I need to.
On the brush roll there is a red end piece that holds the black end of the brush. In between the red piece and the black end, I can see a collection of pet hair. I can NOT get the red piece off to try and clear it. I tried a box cutter and it snapped. I’ve tried scissors and a flat head screwdriver.
Further more, I can’t find a replacement brush on Shark’s website that matches my model. Has anyone else had this problem?? I just want clean floors 😭
Curious if there’s a viable option that’s worth ordering around $300-400 or so. Oak hardwood floors that will be refinished this week and some dog hair to keep up with. I’d prefer to mop/clean by hand.
I’ve looked through this sub but keep finding mop combos.
Hi, I have a Roborock Q Revo that I am very happy with. Now I want to give my parents a robot vacuum cleaner with a mop as a gift, but the roborock q revo is a little beyond my budget. Does anyone know a good but slightly cheaper robot vacuum cleaner with a mopping function that also wrings out the mops in between?
Found this on woot.com figured it was a good deal and should post it.
I recently bought a Roborock Q5 Pro+, so including docking station.
I was shocked about the noise it made. Cat jumping around, kids awake... Is this normal? Do others encounter the same? I will return the robot and go for one without the dock
I see the Roborock be more popular, has self emptying, and overall good reviews.
But I just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing anything.
I think the only thing making me think of the Phillips is because it has a regional office here in Saudi Arabia and has a much higher reputation, while I'd be ordering Roborock from our Amazon, but I don't think it has support or reputation
Four days ago, when I wanted to use the vacuum from the app, I found him "offline" in the app. After reading and finding out that the problem was with wifi connection, I reset it and press both power and home button. When i was looking for the KaercherRCV5-XXXXXX, it didn't appear. I reset the vaccum and still, I can't find the network to connect. I have a band steering router, and I even separated the 2.4 ghz and 5.0 ghz (still didn t work). Any ideas?
I recently got Eureka E10s, and although its working great, my kid’s legos which are strategically hidden below furniture get caught up in the roller brush of the vacuum and it gets stuck. I had convinced my wife to get the robot vacuum cleaner by saying that it won’t require any human interaction, but now that it gets stuck in almost every run, my wife gives me rolling side eyes while I remove lego pieces from the roller. Looks like I’ll have to look for all hidden legos before robot vacuum cleaner can clean without interruption.
I haven’t used a robot vacuum before, so I only know what I’ve seen in reviews. I need to cover three areas:
Area #1: 1500 sqft of wood flooring and tiles with rugs. Area #2: 1500 sqft of wood flooring, carpet, and tiles. Area #3: 400 sqft of carpet with a tile restroom.
I'm considering three separate robots for vacuuming (mopping is optional), and I prefer all to be from the same brand, with different models suited for each surface. We don’t have pets, and I want them to connect with both Home Assistant and HomeKit. Looking for suggestions that offer quality at a decent price.
My budget is $300-400, and my home is all carpeted, so I don't need a mop. But I really care about its vacuuming effectiveness because I have a cat that often brings outdoor debris inside. I also have a daughter who loves playing on the floor. I'm not sure if this budget can get me one with a smart station, but that's not the main issue, I can do manual cleaning.
I'd like to buy a robot vacuum for my vacation home. The only problem is that it is thousands of miles away and empty most of the time so if the vacuum has an issue and gets stuck it is going stay that way and be completely useless for months. There are lots of potential obstacles and I don't really trust any sort of AI enough to be confident that the vacuum is not going to do something stupid that requires in-person human intervention to correct. What I would really like is just a simple manual control mode with a front-facing camera so I can control it remotely when I'm away. An added plus would be a built-in microphone and speaker in the vacuum so that I can have convenient two-way communication in the event that there is someone in the house while I'm controlling the robot.
On Amazon….hope I don’t regret it! But it is on sale and you can get the tri cut brush for free.
I’m supposed to clean this after every mopping session with a stupid little plastic brush which I frequently misplace. There are so many little nooks. It’s smelly, probably because I have toddlers so the floor grime is a lot of food particles and who knows what.
I wish I had a dog washing or laundry tub to spray it down in, but I don’t. Rinsing it in the kitchen sink grosses me out.
I feel like I could really love this little guy if I could figure out a good routine! Tell me what you’re doing with yours!
(Mine’s a eufy X9 Pro)
We just got the S10 yesterday. Performing really well, but missed one room in the house with the initial quick map.
How do we get this room mapped now? I read somewhere to simply tell it to vacuum everywhere and it’ll map it out. Is there another way?
Also, is there any guide to the app to understand all the functions?
Thank you!
Our N8Pro+, "Dusty", is three years old and out of warranty. Earlier this summer, I noticed the main brush was no longer spinning which drastically affected the cleaning performance. I have tried the following to fix the issue:
I put in a new brush and cleaned the housing but no change.
After watching a YouTube video from Ecovacs Technical Support, I ordered a main brush motor from AliExpress and replaced it, but it still would not spin. At the very end of the video, the technician mentions that if you are still having issues, it is likely an issue with the mainboard.
So, I ordered a new main board, took the robot apart and installed it. The main brush still does not spin, although the robot functions correctly otherwise (navigation, obstacle avoidance, change in vacuum speed based on floor vs carpet).
Any ideas on possible next steps other than sending the bot to BESENDER, or another repair shop, for troubleshooting? The only thing I can think of is a wiring issue or bad connection, but the main brush motor only has one simple connection.
I am having problems with my E10, I had it just for a week. I always clean itz. At the beginning the suction was great. But now it makes 4 beeps, and it doesn't suck anymore. Anyone knows how to fix this?
I am in Norway and the Xiaomi S20+ just came in store and its just a bit higher price than Roborock Q5 Pro. I was thinking with the rotating mops it would clean better? Not that mopping is the most important part of why in getting a robot vacuum.
Also does one of them as a brand in general have better building quality?
This weekend we got out of summer time in Spain, and now my S10 programming is shifted by an hour. Any idea how to fix this?
A question for the uk owners of robot vacuum / mops.
Can you name some manufacturers that have good customer service experience in the uk.
I’m looking to get a combo unit soon, and they all seem fairly similar in the price range I am looking for so I think the differentiator will be how well the manufacturer deals with any issues that may arise.
Thanks in advance !
I have a Deebot T9 that needs repair, now Godfrey's is closed, who can I send it to. bought from a friend so can't go back to store and is out of warranty.
