1500 sq ft, U.S.A looking for suggestions. Mostly hardwood flooring, one good size rug and 450sq ft of carpet.
I like the auto drying feature I’m seeing. Horrible at making decisions. I’ll go down the rabbit hole reviews and ads and so forth without pulling the trigger.
We got a Lefant M320 in October and it was working well, but has suddenly stopped charging. The charging dock lights up green, but nothing appears on the vacuum. We’ve tried cleaning the connectors with alcohol spray, but still no luck.
Has anyone had this issue and been able to resolve it?
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for a good robot vacuum to help with pet hair. Budget is around $300, but if I can get closer to $200, even better.
House Details: • Mostly carpet, except for the kitchen and bathroom • Two dogs (one short-haired, one long-haired) • Just want something that handles dog hair better than my weekly vacuuming
Preferences: • Would love a self-emptying dock but can live without it if the vacuum itself is solid
Current Options I’m Considering (All Refurbished): • Roborock Q5 Max+ (self-emptying dock) – $280 • Eufy L60 (self-emptying dock) – $240 • Roomba j7+ (self-emptying dock) – $250
Are these good choices, or should I be looking at something else? Any recommendations?
Thanks!
I would like one that doesn't have the bag, so it will be necessary only to empty the recipient and it will be perfect if it has self-emptying and self-cleaning functions, and as I say in title, the perfection would be with the vapor (hot water) too.
Hello, I have issue with Zaco A10 robot, it turning out by self, first time was turning out at 70% battery, now at 97% battery, all robot is clean, it can be battery issues? When u put on dock it charge, when its 100% it work, and after 2-3 min again turn off by self, and can't turn in manual
Currently testing the Shark AV2820 and it’s okay.
Mix of hardwood and carpets, with pets. Looking to stay at or under $500.
What else should I be looking at if the Sharks not cutting it with carpet?
hi to all,
I can't find the way to modify the maps of one of my rooms. I changed sofa with a smaller and i don't know how to modify the single room.
anybody know how to proceed ?
tks and tks for my bad english
Would anyone know P10 Pro Ultra box/package dimensions? Tried searching for it but only found the robot/dock size. Asking because I am planning on buying it while visiting the US (not available in my country) and wanted to make sure I can check it as luggage. Thanks in advance!!
I bought these both to try out and need to return one tomorrow. The Eufy vac was on sale for $549 and the Roboroc was $899.
I think the mapping on the Eufy is a bit better and I like some parts of the app better, but it takes a long time to update where the robot it and what's been cleaned so far when compared to the Roboroc app.
I like the Roboroc base and water tank design better. The Eufy design is plenty stable, but I have a toddler and the Roboroc one seems less likely to get messed with. While I would prefer a bag less system, the Roboroc bags are bigger than the Eufy ones which I assume means they'll need to be changed less often. However the Roboroc uses a piece of plastic to stay in place while the Eufy uses a similar cardboard mechanism. I'm a fan of less single use plastics. The auto empty system on the Eufy is waaay louder than the Roboroc.
Performance wise I'm really not sure how to gauge. The Roboroc has two rubber brushes and the Eufy has a single brush with bristles. They both seem to equally pick up and get wrapped full of my wife's super long hair. The mopping feels pretty comparable.
I'm honestly kind of underwhelmed by the AI on both of these. The object avoidance is just so so. More often than not they get stuck on some kind of little toy that my toddler has left on the ground and they both eat cords like a MF. They really arent as set and forget as I wanted them to be. You really need to sort of clean up before them or they'll have issues. I think the Eufy seems to tag more items as obstacles than the robovac, but they still both seem to find some piece of crap on the floor that they shouldn't.
The mopping seems comparable on both with no clean winner there either.
The Roboroc has voice controls but they kind of suck and are very rigid requiring very specific commands. The Eufy has none. Which is almost better than having ones that suck.
Which one would you keep? Does it seem like the Roboroc is worth the cost premium? I'm leaning to no but am undecided.
Adding the ability to set the work mode as we set timers would be nice as SL60D will not go over mop restricted areas when it's set into "Sweep & Mop" work mode.
It's not smart enought to figure out that it can go over mop restricted areas if it stops mopping...
So the user needs to manually change the work mode in beetween cleaning sessions to "Sweep" make sure it goes over all areas including the "Mop Forbid" areas it ignored when it was in "Sweep & Mop" work mode.
Or is there a workaround?
I have to choose in between 2 vacuum cleaning robots. Both seems to be a good choice, Dreame one seems to be more powerful, 5000PA vs 4000PA (xiaomi x10).
What could be a better choice in comparable budget?
I have a Roomba J8 plus got it for about 300 and does an OK job except that it’s sometimes cannot get back onto the station rarely more common is that it gets tangled or it’s shoot is not big enough to shoot the shavings into the station
Might be able to go as high as 1500 for a different set up as long as it has automatic dumping, preferably modifiable to dump into a 5 gallon
I have a Roomba J8 plus and I would like to instead of putting it into that little bag. I’d like to stick it into it 5 gallon bucket does anybody have a plan on how to set things up like that on these automatic stations.
I work in a carpet shop/sewing about a gallon of carpet, shavings and other things drop on the ground every day and we probably catch about 5 gallons of it into our shop vac attached to the machines
Hopefully this isnt some kind of orphan, it's odd that it does not show up on the Lefant website.
But so far so good, one month in. It's mainly picking up the copious amount of dog hair that our old boy leaves in his wake. As a non-mop unit, the tank is large enough to keep a good load on board. The oem app wasn't too good at storing maps (even with the save maps option on). Tuya seems to work well with it. I set up some exclusion zones so that it doesnt go into rooms where too many hazards exist.
Large, 2 story home. Equal split between vinyl floors and carpet.
The S8PU does a fine job, but there have been so many new models now that I feel like there's gotta be something I can upgrade to.
Focus areas of improvement would ideally be:
Better object detection/avoidance around thin chair legs and wires
Better mopping
Better for pet hair in carpet (husky + German shepherd = LOTS of hair)
My budget is ~$1500.
With smart devices, I always hesitate to use something that is internet connected, contains a bunch of sensors, and stays online all the time... especially given the Nest microphone issue.
Can you recommend robot vacuums that do a good job but can operate without continuous cloud access?
I do not mind cloud based initial configuration, but it seems like once it is configured it should be able to operate offline (or works local-only using my sandbox'ed routeless wifi SSID).
Ideas?
I’ve just bought a Dreame X40 on sale. I have hardwood floors with skirting boards and quarter rounds. I’ve seen reviews where it rides up on quarter rounds whilst edge mopping. Is this still an issue or has there been firmware updates to resolve this? If it hasn’t been resolved does it affect edge cleaning performance?
Hey all, I’m looking for the best robo vac in my price range which is around $1000 Canadian (I’m willing to drop 2 or 3 hundred more if need be)
I have about 1100 square ft high quality LVP flooring, and 3 area rugs. And 2 dogs in the home. Would like one with mopping.
Also one where spare parts aren’t an issue
Here is what i have my eye on this far and their price point
Mova S20 ultra $800 cad (8300 pa suction)
Dreame L10s ultra gen 2. $950 cad (10000 pa suction, but no heated mop cleaning)
Dreame L10s pro ultra heat $950 cad (7000 pa suction)
What do you think. Or is there any other robo vac within my budget that you think would be better for me?
Any input is appreciated
A few years ago someone recommended an ihome nova LIDAR self empty robot. It mapped and worked well on carpet. Front wheel broke, then it died a few later, need a replacement. It worked out to be a bit under 100$ a year.
I think it was this one
It was actually perfect for them, but it's been discontinued. The apt is roboproofed in terms of clearances and cables. It didn't get stuck and did a decent job. No need for obstacle avoidance or cameras. It went around in an orderly fashion without missing anything. Was able to clear a 1inch drop between carpet and kitchen in both directions. They pushed a button on a remote and it would start vacuuming and returned to the base once complete. What more could you really ask for?
I was thinking of replacing it with the newer S1 It looks like I can purchase it for under 300, shipping and tax.
I don't know how long it will last I hope to get at least 3 years out of it. I don't want something with cameras, will cover it if it has one. I'm also worried because it looks like it uses an app and they're not good with this kind of thing. And they have trouble bending down. I want it to be hands off. The last one just made life a lot easier.
I currently have one of those self-emptying shark vacuums which I bought in 2021. It does an ok job, but like all bagless vacuums, it has gotten clogged with dust. I’d love to get a replacement that captures all of that in a bag and protects the machine. I don’t care about mopping - I will never use that feature. I just want a good bagged robot vac that lasts awhile, and has easily replaceable bags and filters, etc.
Edit: mostly LVP and tile for the area it’s cleaning. I have 3 cats so picking up cat litter and hair is a routine thing.
I bought this September 26th, 2024, AND IT HAS WORKED FOR A TOTAL OF 8 WEEKS, and I'm now over 30 days with this nonsense.
Save yourself the hassle.
so I’ve got a Lubluelu L15, and so far it does a great job
except
no matter how I set the order of the rooms to be cleaned, it does not do them in that order!
i Must be doing something wrong, but I cannot see what!
help
Shark RoboVacuum 2 in 1 Matrix clean, the past 2 days I got all solid red lights, I couldn’t find something in the manual directly describing this error, and on the app it will no longer connect to the vacuum. I cleaned all filters, and ultimately had to disconnect and reconnect the battery to get it to work again. However, when it did work again, it deleted my home layout as if the vacuum was new. Any idea what could be causing this?

Hello Everyone,
I've been looking for a robot vacuum for the past couple of weeks and made this spreadsheet to help me make a decision. I hope it's of use to some of you.
There is still some information missing here and there, but for some models, it was really difficult to find. If anybody can contribute with additional information regarding features or have some insight or personal experience to share, I would appreciate it.
My particular use case:
small flat;
laminate and tiled floors;
no carpets;
planning to adopt a cat;
A few considerations:
There is a price point I'm trying to hit, but I've also looked at (sufficiently) good robots for cheaper and (better) robots over my set budget.
I live in Eastern Europe. This list is based on available devices at this time, in this region.
All models I've selected do not include a dock because I don't want to clutter my little apartment and I hope it is not necessary. I haven't seen any mentions on the internet of people emptying dustbins mid run if the vacuum started with a clean bin.
My opinions based on spec sheets and reviews:
Dreame L10s Pro Gen 2 would be the undisputed king if not for the brush design. Roborock Q5 Pro and Q8 Max would probably have the best brush design of them all.
Xiaomi S20+ is basically the Dreame L10s Pro Gen 2 with an older design combo-style brush and less suction power.
The Xiaomi S20 is the smallest robot on this list, on par with Dreame D9 Max Gen 1 in terms of features, but has a smaller battery (the only robot with a smaller battery than 5200 mAh) and a fixed brush housing (as far as I can tell) compared to the floating housing design of the Dreame. It also don't think it has carpet recognition (not sure).
Dreame D9 Max Gen 2 is very similar to Roborock Q8 Max, the biggest difference being the brush design and the navigation system.
I still consider the Dreame D9 Max Gen 1 a good pick here because it has all the features seen on the newer version, but an old combo-style brush and less suction power.
The Roborock Q5 Pro might be an excellent vacuum, but the mopping feature is very basic with no pump and no app control. I'm also not sure if it can detect carpet or not, but I assume it can't. The dustbin is the biggest (by far) of all the robots on this list.
The Dreame L10s Pro Gen 2, Xiaomi S20+ and Roborock Q8 Max have an RGB camera which might be a concern for some.
To me, the best picks are Dreame D9 Max Gen 2 (and Gen1 if heavily discounted), Xiaomi S20+ and Roborock Q5 Pro. For me, it would probably come down to price.
I hope this subject is of interest.
Sorry for the long post and the bad english.
Just wanted to tell you guys, I worked there...they fake Amazon and other reviews...
We're looking at buying a robot for our flat (80m²) and the L10s ultra had come to my attention. One of the main selling points for me is that I can install valetudo on it. But is this still a good robot in 2025? I can get it new for just under €500 in sale until the weekend
ETA
We have laminate flooring throughout the flat with a couple of rugs in some rooms.
I’m considering a robot. I currently have a stick vac and it takes like 10 min to vacuum the 100m2 house and 30 min to clean the bloody vacuum .
I’m looking at an expensive model the Dreame x40 ultra - but the manual says you should clean the brushes every 2 weeks - which gives me pause - is that for the thing running every day ??? What is normal - I’m slack and currently only vacuum once every 3 weeks or so - I imagine it should really happen every week - but how does it work with a vacuum - and are they easier to clean?
Hey everyone, I'm considering getting a Eufy 11S MAX, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. I have a long-haired cat that sheds a lot, and I live in a small condo with just one bedroom and an open-concept kitchen/living area.
I'm not too concerned about mopping- my main priority is keeping pet hair under control as efficiently as possible. If you have experience with the 11S MAX, does it handle pet hair well? How often do you need to empty the dustbin with heavy shedding? Or is there a better alternative in the same price range?
Thanks in advance!
