It must be durable...last for 5 or more years. 5.1 preferrable My room is around 200square feet, and not very closed. I was thinking about buying sony s20r..but im worried if it will last 5 years.. Pls share yall wisdom with me
I'm wondering if BestBuy.com or in store Best Buy would be willing to price match since it isn't a 3rd party seller.
Would Amazon price match with its own site?
What else can I do/try if I want this specific model?
Hi all! As many of you I’m in a dilemma between Sonos and Samsung. I have a living room that is 4x4 sqm and a sofa that is 2m distance from tv. I can purchase a Samsung Q800D new for 450£ or I would consider buying a Sonos Arc (2nd hand with 1 y warranty for 450£) with a new Sonos sub mini (400£ now maybe lower in Black Friday). We watch mainly movies with Netflix and Apple TV and I cannot have rear speakers, so I need to stick with soundbar and sub. I’m not planning to buy additional pieces in future. I wonder also if Sonos software is better compared to the Samsung app. In the end I plug soundbar with e-arc so I wonder if it matters or not.
What would you do?? THANKS A LOT!

I have S90D tv and was looking for q990d but it was around 900$-1000$ also q930d is 700$ Is LGs95tr worth the price?
PS: never had any soundbar
Hey everyone,
I've been on the hunt for my first soundbar to pair with my LG C1. Up until now, I’ve mostly been fine with the TV's built-in audio, but recently, I've noticed that especially with movies and shows that support Dolby Atmos, dialogue is incredibly quiet while sound effects like explosions are almost deafening. I know the overall sound quality would be much better with a dedicated soundbar, so I think it's time to upgrade.
Currently, I’m looking at the Samsung HW-Q930B and the LG DS95QR. Both are available on Amazon for around 650. From what I’ve read, the Samsung seems to offer better performance, but I’m wondering if it will integrate smoothly with my LG TV. My ideal setup includes the soundbar itself, a subwoofer, and two wireless rear speakers I can place behind the couch.
I’m aiming for a mid-range option with a good balance of price and quality. Any thoughts on these two options? Or are there better alternatives I should consider? Thanks for any advice!
So my wife and I have been looking for one of our 2 year old sons toys for a few weeks now. Tonight I saw him putting something inside the subwoofer, so I shined my light in there and sure enough there is a collection is small toys including the one we are looking for. How can I get inside the box to rescue the toys?
Have tried the codes for Klipsch and Onkyo with no luck. Anyone have success with this?
I just bought a Samsung HW-Q800D soundbar with sub. As title says, my subwoofer won't work when I use chromecast to play audio directly on the soundbar. Checked that the blue link led is solid on the subwoofer. It is plugged into an LG C3 and no other ports on the soundbar are in use. Here is what I have tried so far
The bass module works as intended when casting to TV or on eARC
Long story short - my home can not accommodate 2 satellite rear (or front) speakers. This is both a physical limitation and a wife limitation. I have a a Samsung S90C OLED TV with Dolby Atmos and HDMI 2.1. My wife and I only watch the TV to watch TV - Netflix, Prime, etc. No gaming. I generally watch TV directly from the S90C, though there is a Google Streamer attached for certain, but rare, situations.
The Samsung Q900C has an attractive price; includes a sub; no rear speakers an attractive price and matches up well with the TV with Q-Symphony.
The Sonos Arc Ultra is getting great reviews; no rear speakers; somewhat pricier; without a sub and much pricier with a sub. I have no other Sonos equipment that I am trying to match this up with.
What say ye all?
JBL is the only one I’ve found so far. Due to my setup, I’d rather not have to plug in rear.
Samsung 990D looks great BTW, but have to plug in so not perfect for me.
Willing to pay more to go higher end for soundbars (>$1k).
Hi folks, I have a LG C9 and planning to add one of these soundbars for my living room.
I’ve seen that with a LG I’d be losing some features if buying the Q990D (Q symphony) while gaining some with the S95TR, but seeing great reviews of the Q990D makes me wonder which one should I get.
Would you be so kind to advise me? First time looking at soundbars and I’m rather not knowledgeable whether the loss of some features would compensate or not make it worth it.
Is their difference in sound quality very high or are these just very close one to another? Would you favour one or the other if you have a LG TV?
Big thanks!
My current setup won’t accommodate rear speakers so I’m debating between getting last year’s 900c model (without rear) or the 990D (with rear).
The price difference is $300 locally.
Usage would be for movies and gaming primarily.
Hello. I am looking for a budget surround setup with Dolby Atmos and because Vizio and ONN are not available in my country I ultimately got stuck between the Poseidon D80 and the Nova S80 from Ultimea. the D80 is a 7.1 surround system with App Control while the Nova S0 is a 5.1.2 system with more power, a bigger woofer and upfiring speakers. Otherwise they are functionally the same. Soundbar + Satellites with eArc, passthrough and Dolby Atmos. both priced at around 300€. Now my question is which one of the two I should go for. I previously had the Hisense AX5100G which I returned because they sound awful. The Dolby Atmos on those was amazing though, even if it was only 5.1. so I am hoping one of those Ultimea options will give me an equal Dolby Atmos experience without sucking. So if anyone has experiences with either of these please share. I know I am reaching for the stars here because the D80 came out but I am more looking towards people who tried the Nova S80 with the newest v161 firmware and share their experience. Thanks in advance
Does anyone have any idea about the upcoming q990e? Will it be the same as the b,c,d series or they would finally bring something new to the table after sonos released arc ultra or maybe now it's 4years.
Looking for a good soundbar with a couple of surround speakers mainly for tv and movies. Would like something great for dialogue. Wouldn't be using it much for streaming music. Bought a Samsung 990D but had to return it as it didn't fit on our tv cabinet. Any of the Bose soundbars fit size wise as does the Sonos Beam. The Arc is a bit too wide. Any opinions? TV is a Sony Bravia 65 inch. Thanks!
Hi! I have the LGDS80QY, but i would like rear speakers. What rear speakers are connectable with the soundbar?
I`ve looking for a soundbar in the last few weeks and this deal just happened today and is still ongoing, what do you guys think?
Local shop is selling the Q990D for $1300 and last years Q900C for $1000.
Our setup doesn’t support surrounds. Is there advantages to the new model otherwise?
Would be used primarily for movies/streaming/gaming, but not music.
I currently have a Klipsch cinema 800 with the rears and I’m looking to upgrade. The soundbar is mostly for watching movies and listening to some music. I do like big bass and a good voice clarity while watching movies. I’m looking at these setups, what would you recommend?
Jbl 1300X
Sonos arc ultra with the sub 4 and rears (concerned about the bass)
Samsung 990D (concerned about the bass)
What is the “best” (aware this is subjective, just looking for opinions) sound mode for my Q990c? I tend to leave it in ‘Standard’, so the sound is as “pure” as possible to the source material, but I’ve seen so many people recommending ‘Surround’ or ‘Adaptive’ that I’m starting to wonder if I should think about switching to either.
What are the benefits/drawbacks of these modes, and is there any benefit to switching to either for general content (mostly streaming content w/ 5.1 or TV/movies will Atmos, occasional 4K disc-based content with better sound profiles)?
Hi all, I'm looking at soundbars and am interested in one with surround/dolby atmos capabilities, but I 'm not sure if I would be able to take advantage given the shape of my living room, pictured here:
The fireplace takes up most of the long wall and the ceiling is vaulted, so I couldn't place my tv above the fireplace even if I wanted to. Would placing rear speakers in either the red or green (or other) locations make any sense, or should I only be looking at stereo/3.1 setups?
Thanks!
As stated I have a Sonos arc, but it's being blamed for causing buffering issues with my Plex streams because it doesn't do Dolby-HD.
Can anyone give me a suggestion for someone similarly priced that will be able to handle whatever Plex throws at it?
Im looking to buy a soundbar plus subwoofer for both listening to bass music like dnb and dubstep and watching movies and shows, leave multiple suggestions if you can because i want to cross reference them to what i can get a deal on during black friday, price range 200-800 euros, if its a little under or over but worth it i wont mind.
Thanks in advance
I had the exact same setup with another soundbar and the same firestick, resolution switching would work, but now it's not since I got the q800d.
Framerate matching is working, I just wanna know does the resolution switching work for anyone that has the q800d/c?
When I press info on my tv it always displays 4k, even with a 1080p show.
Hello,
I'd like to know which of the above I should get.
The Sonos price is gonna be around 500USD more on my country (I already have the sub gen 3).
I only care about sound quality, money isn't an issue. The main use for the system will be movies and gaming, and a little bit of music.
I'm using an LG CX tv so I have an HDMI EARC connection.
Which one would you suggest me to get? I want clear dialogue and loud surrounds.
Thanks a lot.
