How can I tell if a drama was made in Taiwan or China?

So my wife and I picked up a Viki/Kocowa subscription for Christmas and have been barrelling our way through the top Kdramas there. But Viki is often recommending shows in Mandarin. Being that I am not a big fan of the CCP, I'd rather watch shows produced in Taiwan. Aside from Google searching each show, is there a quick way (preferably of Viki, but I guess just in general) to tell if the show was made in Taiwan?

Please help me with my graduate research on iQiyi! What is your favorite iQiyi TV series?

I need users of iQiyi to help me fill out a questionnaire, which will take about 3 minutes. There is a concern about the usage of iQiyi. Thank you all!

I am studying film studies, researching the film industry, and researching the overseas dissemination of iQiyi. Currently, I am studying at Yunnan Academy of Arts (China). The reason why I need the questionnaire is that the content of the paper includes the content, target audience, and results of the dissemination, and the results section requires feedback from the audience to complete. Therefore, I need to conduct a questionnaire survey.

The questionnaire is from a professional American survey production website called Qualtrics. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me forward it!

Name of the series

Can anyone tell me the name of this 2000s taiwanese tv drama series? I cannot remember all the details but it goes like this.

The theme is about winter and ice skiiing. Male lead is a professional skier who is training for olympic or some important match. His love interest - female lead likely suffers from terminal illness and has family issues. She broke up with him after she learnt about her illness so that she wouldn't burden him. The 2nd male lead is a professional photogtapher and he fell in love with her and started pursuing her and cares for her need despite the female lead objections. When the main male lead learnt about her disease, he tried to get back together so there is a love triangle starts to form.

But the photographer had an obessive secret admirer rich girl (the 2nd female lead, she's also a professional skier). When she found out about the love triangle, in order to spite the main girl for stealing her supposedly boyfriend, she hired the main guy as her coach and flirts with him and the drama ensues.

In the end, everything worked out and the female lead dies in the arms of the male lead while watching sunrise from a snowy mountain which they promised to do so alongtime ago. So if anyone knows the name or link of the serie, plz leave a comment.

Can anyone please help me to find the drama

I am not sure if it is Taiwanese or not but I saw the drama in a Chinese youtube page.

The drama goes like this- The drama revolves around a female lead who ends up in a coma after a car accident. Before the accident, she wrote emails as a journal with the password "I am who I am." Her adoptive mother mistreats her, and her adoptive brother was dumb and careless but his adoptive father tries to support as much as The first episode not sure maybe the house address as her adoptive mother make her to loose in the market so see can't come home. The female lead has a weak heart due to a transplant from the male lead's deceased sister. Her adoptive mother kicked her out after her university. Unable to find dorm, she started to live in a garage. The male lead saw and make her roommate & her adoptive brother also join in. Whenever she got a high fever she dreamt about the day how her mother leave after telling the incomplete story about a child owl losing its mother to the storm. The male lead had fiance who cannot stand with the female lead & trys to bully her. The male lead protect tried to protect her from the fiance & another male character who found out the fl is his mother's daughter , so he don't want his parents to be separated. The male leads parents was also unsupportive of the relationship as they thought the fiance was the one who recieves the heart from their deceased daughter. The red candy given by mother of the female lead signifies it can ease pain. There was also a scene where they all drunk and the female lead ride the bicycle very fast.

(Sorry for the grammatical error as English is not my first language)

Not sure if this drama is taiwanese but hopefully it is (need help finding it!)

Hi! So I've been trying to find this Asian (maybe Taiwanese or Chinese) tv show, it's a supernatural and comedy show. It's about a girl who was in an accident, she wears headphones and is a new worker at a place that seems to be hunted. She and this man who have been fighting over bread at a restaurant end up partnering to stop ghosts. He can hear them, I believe and she can see them. That's all I remember unfortunately, please help! I really want to watch it again!

Revisiting A Mood

Hello everyone, I hope all is well. As I was browsing my Reddit feed, I came across an interior design that brought back memories of a particular drama. There were two things that drew me to watch it 3 years ago, that was the the actor playing the ML and a room in a on location house used for filming. I remember while watching the drama I was besotted with the coloring of it all because it created this enveloping mood of rich decadent warmth for me. I fell in love mostly with the styling of the whole thing which added so much to the setting of the love story. I'm now revisiting the drama and it once again has me in its grasp. The drama name is Lost Romance.

Do you just rewatch a drama for a mood it gave you?

Just my thoughts at 3:55 am Thanks!

Does anybody know an ancient Chinese folk legend of a sickly student /书生 who is always hungry cannot find a cure for his illness, and one day assulted by ghosts /鬼 so he eats all of them, become full and healthy and transforming into a deity specialised in capturing and eating ghosts?

I watched something like that from a HK or Taiwn periodic drama 古装 tv show. I think it is probably an adaption of strange tales from a chinese studio 聊斋志异. The tv show is about journey in the west and the student in question is a friend with shun wu kong 孙悟空. it also mixes a lot of other ghost stories from China. It was produced by a HK or Taiwan studio. Is this based on an actual book or is it something they took artistic license with Zhong Kui's story? i think the title of the episode is like Zhongkui or someone else eats ghosts 钟馗吃鬼

It defnitely belongs to the taoist and ghost and goblin weird tale trdition in China

Anyone knows this??

The female lead has a childhood friend(guy) that she's close with (i think they are dating?). Apparently, he's a famous celebrity & his favourite food is strawberry pudding. However, he doesn't care for the female lead at all despite her supporting him. The female lead decided to ends things with him & has her revenge on him. She ended up in the acting industry with the help of another male character.

Srry for the lack of info. I watched this show when i was a child.

Lost Romance (with subs) Not Anymore on Viki. Wherelse can We watch it in high quality streaming (legal sources)?

I’m so sad my comfort drama isn’t available on Viki anymore. Do you know if I can find a legal version of it anywhere? Subtitles in English or French or Portuguese are ok for me.

Just returned to watching Taiwan Dramas once again

Recently came back to watching Taiwan dramas again, and I really enjoyed a breath of fresh air from the usual American or Korean dramas that I have been watching. Currently watching those of supernatural/fantasy genre, so if anyone has recommendations please do share!

Just completed:

Oh No! Here Comes Trouble

  • This was really great. I love the friendship and chemistry between Yi Yong and Guang Yan. The part where Guang Yan did CPR and screamed while being held back was heart wrenching.
  • I am also glad that they didn't try something weird and develop a relationship between a university-aged-but-college/highschool-mentality-Guang Yan with an adult Chu Ying. The chemistry between all three characters were pretty nice and real(?).
  • Every case of the week was done really well too; cried for almost all of them.
  • I want my season 2!

Sometimes When We Touch

  • I really enjoyed this entire show even though I had some issues with it. I loved the music, the exaggerated acting and even the clothing (especially how Stone Head changes from a flowery/obnoxious patterned outer shirt to a simple, dark coloured t-shirt as his personality changes).
  • The only issue I had was how the friendship trio: French Toast, Kam and Stone Head felt kind of... light/non-existent? I was hoping for a more of a Hospital Playlist style friendship (but that might be asking for too much considering that they are all adults). Or even something like that of Oh No! Here Comes Trouble
  • The ending had me feeling extremely happy, depressed and melancholic altogether. I think this is the first drama that I've seen a >!ghost-human couple that actually died together in the end and reincarnate together. Usually the human moves on and probably encounter the reincarnated partner, or the ghost happened to be someone in coma who then wakes up and they get together. It felt... like a blessing that they were together. But at the same time, they were all so young... and the people they left behind... T_T!<
  • Stonehead and Xiao Lu... T_T

49 Days with Merman

  • So uh, why isn't this a BL? Ren Yu and Long Jie's chemistry was insane! I loved every moment that they were together, and their character development was so great!
  • Sorry Bi Yu, but you felt more like a plot device than an actual female interest. Would have preferred Ren Yu and Long Jie to get together instead.
  • Ending was mixed and felt kinda rush with how they showed what happened to the adults. But I still enjoyed the show nonetheless
  • Also, what was with the end credit scene? >!Why did Long Jie developed fins?!!< Don't leave me hanging!!!!!!

Teenage Psychic 1 & 2

  • Not sure if it's a budgeting issue, but I don't see much ghosts or special effect like furniture being knocked over. So it doesn't really feel like a supernatural/fantasy genre
  • Uncle felt kinda like an ass to me. I know he is supporting Ya Zhen, but it feels like he is treating her more of a golden egg-laying goose rather than a highschool girl that happened to have supernatural power. Really dislike him.
  • I'm glad that they didn't develop an annoying love triangle situation. Glad that the girl didn't turn out to be your typical jerk. Ya Zhen and Ah Le got together pretty smoothly :D
  • What the f***? >!He died?!!<
  • Okay, I've finished watching the series and to be honest... it felt rather disappointing. There are lots of stuff that just doesn't appeal to me, but I kept on going due to sunk cost fallacy. And I regret it now...
  • Also, this is exactly the scenario I mentioned in Sometimes When We Touch.

On-Hold Someday Or One Day (ep 4)

  • Okay, I'm already tearing up just from few episodes in. This is a pretty great show
  • As of right now, I think the best ending that can come from this show would be >!Zi Wei waiting for Yu Xuan to complete her time loop so that the timeline is maintained, before coming out of hiding to reunite with her. Zi Wei was probably possessing Quan Sheng's body from past->future as compared to Yu Xuan's future->past. Well, it may raise some questions to the surrounding people if Yu Xuan suddenly dates another Quan Sheng lookalike, but since the person in question itself is still the same (albeit different body), I think all's good?!<
  • But for some reason, I get the feeling that this show is about to end in a sad manner... So, I'm gonna put this on hold for my emotion's sake. Will revisit once I binge on enough comedy dramas

Edit:

Updated Teenage Psychic to completed, and spoiler tags some stuff.

Updated new dramas
