It's gonna be two spin-off movies in a row, scheduled to be release in October and November 2024 respectively:

Only Muroi is returning for sure this year, very understandable due to budget-related reasons etc.
(Of course some of the original casts already passed away IRL.)
Back in the 90s, both GTO and Bayside Shakedown should be considered some of the most popular dramas.
Unfortunately GTO Revival turned out to be more like a "TV movie" and obviously not much (or anything) could be expected, though Bayside Shakedown might do better than that since they're showing both movies in the theaters instead.
episode 1 give me chills on how good the acting and the story was
been interested in these kind of plots specially after watching Mairunovich and Nobuta Wo Produce
Have been watching JDramas over the years, here are the ones I've put off:
That might be all. Let me know which ones you think I should give another chance or drop completely; or if I should finish/drop all of them.
please recommend me some
Hi, a friend of mine wants to watch Ikebukuro West Gate Park because we both enjoy Japanese TV shows. However, my friend can't watch anything that contains scenes of sexual violence. I tried to search for trigger warnings but couldn't find anything. I watched some scenes from the first episode, and there was a creepy guy killing girls, I'm guessing he is not only killing them but nothing explicit happened. I'm wondering if the series is safe to watch or if there's an explicit scene I should be aware of so I can skip it when watching with my friend.
Any info would be greatly appreciated 🙏
EDIT: Thank you to everyone who answered, it was very helpful 🙌👍

I'm looking for ways to watch Natsuko no Sake online. I can't buy any DVDs because I don't have a CD player where I am right now. Un-subtitled are also fine, as long as I can find the episodes if they're somewhere online!
Thank you so much in advance!
Hi, there are a couple of JDramas I'd like to watch on Amazon Prime Video. The problem is that they want an extra subscription (some want a TELASA subscription, others want a fami geki neo plus subscription and so on). I have a JP amazon account with prime (I just had to add a card to activate it), but I can't get these extra subscriptions. If I use the same amazon payment method, I always get an error message saying that it's not a japanese method. Can someone help me please? Can I do something if I live outside Japan?
Hi, ive never seen any asian dramas but i just watched godzilla minus one and loved the first 30 minutes of movie that was about post war half romantic life and i was wandering if there is any jdrama that can pass the same vibe?
I know that godzilla is not the best source to start to love drama but i just knida liked that one
Upon the recommendation of my Japanese colleague for educational purposes regarding Japanese history, I watched this JDorama. Having previously enjoyed Chinese and British period dramas, where I gleaned some historical facts—albeit perhaps distorted—I found myself particularly interested by the portrayal of people in different eras, reflecting the perspectives of contemporary writers. The nuances in speech, ethics, and principles were especially intriguing to me.
Initially, I was taken aback by the modernized approach of the Japanese period series. The main characters, especially the members of the Hojo family, seemed to possess personalities more akin to those of the 21st century. Take, for instance, the main protagonist, Hojo Yoshitoki, who hardly appeared to be a man from the 13th century. Apart from his attire, he bore an uncanny resemblance to the typical, unassuming male lead found in other Japanese dramas. His sister, too, stood out as a strong and witty sibling, unwavering in her resolve, capable of outmatching any man she encountered without hesitation. While she made for an intriguing female lead, her demeanor seemed more reminiscent of a character from a contemporary shonen manga than one from the 13th century.
Furthermore, I couldn't help but notice that the characters on the protagonist's side were portrayed as too 'good'. Particularly, the Hojo family was depicted as always harboring good intentions, even when resorting to acts of betrayal and framing their long-time family friend to death. Such instances were often rationalized as necessitated by the stability of shogunship or they had to do it if not Hojo will be the one face death. The repeated plotline seemed almost propagandistic in favor of the Hojo family. During and after the death of Wada, Hojo Yoshitoki was finally portrayed as a calculated politician. However, I couldn't shake the suspicion that Yoshitoiki was likely a cold-hearted politician from the outset, and perhaps his sister harbored political ambitions as well in real history I wonder why they didn't choose this way to depict Hojo family. Was there a consensus among historians that Hojo family somehow virtuous among feudal lords?
Additionally, there were certain editing choices that left me puzzled. For instance, the portrayal of Yoshimura as a cool, wise womanizer, accompanied by sporadic shirtless scenes—was I supposed to admire his lean muscles? Was it meant to be humorous, or did it serve as a source of appeal for female viewers? Furthermore, when Yoshitoki's first wife, Yae, mysteriously died, presumably drowned in a river, and experienced a haunting vision—was it related to her deceased son, killed by her father? What was the significance of a vision where the deceased son, slain by his grandfather, lured his own mother to her demise? The inclusion of such supernatural elements left me perplexed as to their intended meaning.
This was recommended many time and I use my golden week to binge watching. The overall production quality was good, but their approaches to periodic material felt too naive.
Hi all. Just finished My Teacher / Teacher! Is It Okay for Me to Love You? and thought it was super good. Looking for any recommendations such as that, male teacher x female student. Thanks!

Protagonist admires and likes a personality/celebrity but he/she doesn't know that this person is just around him most of the time, like maybe a classmate or an acquaintance or a friend. He/she just doesn't know it's them. lol
Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone.
Recently I've been listening to the album of Daigekito Mad Police '80 OST and, after reading a short summary of the series' storyline, I was in search for any episodes available online for free ever since. Luckily, there are two episodes available on 東映シアターオンライン on YouTube. Now, here's the problem: unfortunately, it seems that eng fan sub for the series doesn`t exist (because of the limited availability I presume). I`m wondering if there's someone who is willing to translate them. I understand if it's too much to ask, but the any effort would be much appreciated.
Thank you all in advance!
P.S.: Here's the links to episodes. Turn on the VPN before watching as it`s region-locked
I just finished watching most of Mitsuru Adachi’s works and what I got from them is that I love tragic love triangles with a lot of tension.
Any recommendations for binge watching?
Please? Is it a thing?
I don’t quite think this is a drama but I still want to ask just in case someone knew it.
I ran into this yt short of a Jdrama that was based a on real case that included the adultery of two parties.
The video should a fan was looking through his idols social page and found a secret message that said “I love you (someone who’s not her partner’s name.)” The fan post his finding online, and the next day two government agents came to his house to question him about his post and if he’d want to work for them.
I’ve looked this up multiple times trying to find not the movie could only find the real case of which the movie was based on. The real people were yukina takashi and Inul Takashi, a Japanese football player.
This is all the info I have found, please help me find this movie!
What types of dramas are you watching this week? Is it from this season or from the past?
Feel free to recommend or ask for new shows this thread as well!
