/r/t:1970s
Discord is usually GenZ, but these guys are targeting a live chat for folks born in the 70s-90s and wanted to see if 1970s Reddit would be interested in checking it out. Lots of friendly conversation and adults from the Old Millennium trying to make sense of what's going on in the world these days. Could always use some more people from the old guard to talk to.....
I'm happy to share my podcast āFor Keeps,ā in which I have lighthearted conversations with people who collect interesting and/or unusual items. In Episode 6, I have an in-depth chat with Penny Johnson about her passion for 70s music star Barry Manilow and her sizable stash of Manilow memorabilia ā as well as her efforts to turn her co-workers into fervent "Fanilows." She's even spent thousands of dollars to bring them to Barry's shows over the years! Link is here ... hope you enjoy!
Just need someone to answer some basic questions about the era.
I'm writing a crime piece focused on a wheelman/ hitman in a fictional town set in the mid to late 70s and I've been trying to research accurate weapons, vehicles, technology, culture, clothes, ect to minimize inaccuracies. Does any one have any good source material (I had thought about RPGs set in the 1970s) since the internet seems to be information overload. Any help is welcome thank you all!
yay
Seems a little inactive round here.
I take it time travel isn't cool in this decade?
So the Captain Crunch cereal has a free whistle in the box. I know, boring...anyways, while messing around waiting for the operator to connect me to a long distance line, I start blowing on the whistle. The call gets all weird and it sounds like I'm talking to a machine. I was not high at the time.
