Can people please tell me about women’s rights under the HTS specifically Idlib? I see them gaining territory but I’ve also heard talks about them being extremists, are the women in these territories going to be safe? Are they going to continue to be allowed freedom of expression, like not wearing the hijab and wearing less modest closing? I’m Muslim myself but I’m also a huge secularist and I just want to be certainly our women will be free and safe.
For some reason couldn’t post the link but it’s in the Reuters World news main page
Since SDF has withdrawn from areas with a lot of Kurds to let the SNA take control, what will they do them now? I don't think HTS will do much, but SNA just does Erdoğan's bidding, and I he isn't a big fan of Kurds existing
Any of you Syrians in western countries already working on going back?
Wouldn’t it make more sense to call out HTS as the ones spreading propaganda?? given how tightly they control their narrative and the flow of information? with the Assad regime, we all know how terrible they are and the atrocities they’ve committed nobody’s denying that. So why is it that any criticism of HTS is dismissed as propaganda, even when their actions are just as well documented?
I know that too many people who live in Aleppo feel me, but i'm hopeless..it's hard to admit that our lives are that cheap, it's hard to keep fighting. i have worked hard to achieve what i achieved but at what cost? sitting here waiting for something,..anything. my brain is paralyzed and can't keep a helpful thought within it. even the straw of hope that i was trying to hang on to is broken now. i'm really sorry to spread that kind of negativity now, i know this is the last thing you wanna read right now..i'm just grieving.
Hi! I'm Ukrainian and I've seen some rumors that Ukrainian HUR army had some minor involvement in training the Syrian opposition in the past year. Does anyone know how credible these claims are?
What's the best way for a syrian to travel out of Syria, airport wise?a neighboring country?
My town Masyaf has been struck by a drone. A residential building got hut with no loss of life thankfully.
I know this is barely news considering the scale of what's happening elsewhere but I wanted to tell someone. Not a shot was fired here during the first round of the war but now I'm scared for my family. I'm scared that I might wake up in the morning and someone would be hurt or dead which is how I know everyone in Aleppo, Hama, Idlib and everywhere else feels.
There has been posts here talking how minorities are going to fare during this war. I suppose we are about to find out about the Ismaili sect at least.
I saw pictures by assadists claiming that the HTS are raising turkish flags in the citadel. How true is that? anyone can confirm/deny?
I'm really trying to approach what's happening wisely and I understand that in order for every side to survive they need to paint the black vs white story.
title, im really astounded that The HTS were able to recapture territory this easily and fast.
Hello people from Syria, I'm an Australian with no blood or cultural ties to Syria but I've seen a bunch of news about the current offensive going on and I'd really like to know who's advancing? And what kinds of groups are there?
I see videos on here about churches holding services in Aleppo so would I be right in assuming the advancing groups are secular and not islamists? Was the Assad government not letting Christians hold their services or something?
So, that's basically what I'd like to know, who's advancing, what do they believe and how do they treat different groups?

Hi guys,
First of all most of us Syrians are emotionally tied to such a subject (Unity), it's our homeland after all so please regard that in your comment.
All the concerns about the minority and Assad's brutal retaliation are legitimate. And I'm happy that Assad and Iran's militias are being defeated and I know that the guys liberating the areas are people from these areas BUT
We all know that there is something being cooked right now,
The US wants to establish a "Kurdish" State were SDF is right now but we all know there is no legitimacy for a Kurdsih state in Syria becue Kurds are not the only ones there, there are also Arbas and Assyrians, this is why they rebranded it to "Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria" and "Syrian Democratic Forces" so there is going to be an american backed sectarian, racist Turkish-Kurdish occupation (Kurds from Turkey)
In the currently liberated areas either an Islamist entity or some tier 10 version of what we have wanted whole Syria to be.
in Damascus, Daraa, Homs and the coast the regime stays but rebranded and Sweida might also get its independence as a Druze state.
It shouldn't exactly look like this for example the Turks will never accept a Kurdish state on its door steps.
However why would the regional and the international powers accept a united Syria especially the US and Israel.
I have alway thought how can we ever dream of having democracy with Israel on our door steps? Israel sees us all as a threat to it no matter how many Guarantees we give them, how about being democratic and prosperous. I really don't believe it might ever happen!!! And we all know the regime is willing to do anything to stay in power even if it means dividing the country and rebranding itself.
What are your thoughts? Isn't this a legitimate concern?
Again be respectful and understand most of us want a one Syria for all, a democratic and free Syria.
Don't do the previous rebels' mistake and keep an Assad controlled pocket in the north, latakia is the key to everything, if it is seized and the Alawis there join against the regime you will have both a huge boost militarily and morally.
Also, Alawis should be encouraged to join the counter-offensive and be treated with full respect like any other minority.
Wish you guys the best.
Anyone who be like Syria will be Libya 2.0 Syria is gonna turn into an anarchy bro what do you think Syria is now ? We have not been stable sovereign or united since 2011 we are in anarchy and our situation is just as bad as Libya yall think Syrian are living ? In Syria life have been on hold since 2011 no one repaired their homes no one is building anything or moving anywhere. I personally know some ppl who sought refuge in Libya. Assad or no Assad we all know that Syria is fucked anyway. Stop acting like if Assad stays he is improving anything. If you love Assad so much pls take him to your country and make him rule you
