Anything I should know
Greetings. I am a moderator with r/SouthernHockeyHistory. We deal with the long history of hockey in the South. All teams and leagues. Come over and check us out.
Never to early to plan a roadrip from Raleigh. Hoping the schedules will line up right! Friday night hit the Bojangles arena for a Checkers game and spend the night in Charlotte. Then Saturday head to Greenville for sightseeing and a Swamp Rabbits game and spend the night there.
Greenville locals, whats your don't-miss suggestions for area?
I'm super hyped that this now our affiliate ECHL team! Love the logos and colors. Looking forward to cheering this club on!
What did they end up saying the reason was for the no-goal call in the shootout?
Stingrays Survive Swamp Rabbits' Push
Greenville gets within a goal, slumps late
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — Down 3-0 early in the second period, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits made a strong move to claw within a single goal. However, late mistakes pushed the South Carolina Stingrays ahead, eventually for good, in a 6-2 win over Greenville on Saturday night at the North Charleston Coliseum.
The Swamp Rabbits allowed a goal in the first 1:15 of the second from Joey Leach, but the Swamp Rabbits started their comeback. Will Merchant connected for his fifth goal of the season three minutes after South Carolina's goal to get on the board. Chris Izmirlian and Thomas Ebbing bagged assists on the goal.
Tad Kozun's costly hooking minor penalty led to Greenville's second goal. Good D-to-D puck movement from Jake Bolton from Sean Flanagan got a shot from the point through. With Stingrays goaltender Gordon Defiel down and out, Michael Pelech pounced on the rebound and scored into an empty net to cut the lead to one just five minutes later.
Quick mistakes, however, turned the game.
A turnover at the offensive blue line led to a two-on-one break. Matt Pohlkamp ripped a shot from the left circle, and while Swamp Rabbits goaltender Garrett Bartus got a piece of the puck on a save, the shot bounded off of the post and into the goal to give the Rays its two-goal lead back. Then, after a penalty immediately after that, Cameron Askew scored his second goal of the game to re-establish the three-goal advantage.
Christian Horn added an empty-netter for the Rays in the third period to seal the game away.
Greenville was outshot 12-3 in the first period and escaped the first period down just 2-0 on goals by Patrick Gaul and Askew. After that point, the Swamp Rabbits went on a shot crusade, outshooting the 32-19 for the rest of the game, but it was the Stingrays that outscored the Rabbits 4-2 the rest of the way.
The Stingrays extended their winning streak to five games. The Swamp Rabbits dropped all three games on the weekend.
After a few days off, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits head to Duluth, Georgia to take on the Atlanta Gladiators at 7:30 p.m.
The Swamp Rabbits gave up a goal nine minutes in last night leading to a 3-0 shut out. That gives Florida their first shutout of the season, extending Florida's standings point streak to 12 games.
Florida is looking more and more dominant in the southern division, and leads us to an interesting question...
Tonight is Teddy Bear Toss night, one of Greenville’s most attended promotional nights. After the Swamp Rabbits score their first goal, everyone tosses teddy bears onto the ice to go to underprivileged children in the upstate.
But... what if we never score a goal?
All jokes aside, tonight will be a tough game. We looked pretty lackluster last night, and if we do decide to show up tonight, we’re still playing against Florida.
In player moves, Swamp Rabbits forward Travis Howe was called up to the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners last week, and immediately did what he does best. In his only game for Tucson, he got into a fight with Ontario Reign forward Boko Imama. Howe got the win and the takedown, as he does often.
He’s back tonight. So if anything, we might see some physicality on our side. Let’s try not to get any blood on the teddy bears.
Game starts at 7:30
Let’s Go Rabbits!
Number 6 in the southern division, Greenville Swamp Rabbits (10-14-3-0) - 23 pts, go against the number 1 team in South, the Florida Everblades (14-5-4-0) - 32 pts. This will mark our third meeting this year with them. First game, the Swamp Rabbits went down 2-4, and the second only losing by 1 with the final being 5-4.
Let’s Go Rabbits!
I am interested in getting help and adding a second mod. Let me know if you are interested

Hopefully they find a new one sooner rather than later. This is nothing unusual but still kind of sucks

Is there a parking lot attached to the arena? How much is parking? How does the hoppy hour work?
Thanks guys!
I have been dealing with medical issues but am still working on a revamp. Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I am a UCF student originally from Mississauga, Ontario(20 minutes from Brampton). I am planning on making the drive to Greenville and watching Brampton play, so I have a few questions:
