Rules
Follow Reddiquette. Be respectful & civil even when you disagree with others. Keep discussions focused on what you think about someone's opinion and not on what you think about the person who has the opinion.
All posts must be flaired with the relevant season or content group. It only takes a few extra clicks/taps to do this and will make sure discussions are labeled appropriately. This prevents the post submitter from being spoiled AND prevents commenters from spoiling someone by discussing a future event.
All submitted content must be directly related to the TV show Supernatural; meaning this subreddit is not for sharing personal experiences with the supernatural. Please refer to this post for our policy on actors and their other works. This also includes songs, items, creatures, and other topics featured on Supernatural that appear in other forms of media in a way that is unrelated to the show, and random things found "out in the wild" that inadvertently remind you of Supernatural (like a picture of black smoke or an Impala you spotted on the highway). These objects can appear during normal day-to-day, but they need to appear in a context related to that object's appearance in the show for it to be relevant. Additionally, posts that are critical of the interpersonal relationships between the actors and/or the toxicity of their respective fanbases are unrelated to Supernatural and should instead be posted on that specific actor's subreddit, which are listed below in the "recommended" section. Posts about the actors that the mods have deemed inflammatory and will likely cause a strong negative reaction from the subreddit community based on prior experiences with similar post topics will also be removed at the moderator's discretion. It's nothing personal; this is a subreddit full of passionate people, and these posts tend to explode into chaos/arguments and end up being removed by the moderators, anyway.
No piracy. This includes torrent websites and third-party websites that sell ripped-off Supernatural merch. If any of these merch scam posts appear, please report them as soon as possible to flag them for moderator review.
Low-quality & low-effort content will be removed at the discretion of the mods. This includes but is not limited to: simple screenshots/videos/gifs of scenes, polls and surveys, subreddit games (i.e., "one sentence only this fandom would understand", or elimination games), tier rankings, "this or that" comparisons, unpopular opinion posts, and posts that are instigative, inflammatory, or aggressive in nature, including posts focused solely on negativity/hate that do not generate a constructive discussion. This also includes posts regarding the multiple instances of sexual assault that have been alluded to on the show, as they are triggering for community members and have already been discussed to death. Memes may be allowed if they generate sufficient discussion (measured in comments, not upvotes), but not if it doesn't contain images from Supernatural. Meme trends are NOT allowed. These are posts that make the rounds in every fandom subreddit as well as on social media such as Facebook. They usually include an image of some sort (one person vs a crowd, Flynn from Tangled with knives at his throat, a 9-square grid to be filled with things like "the fan favorite", "made to be hated", "the hot one" and so on), often have a low-effort title ("go", "let's see", etc.), and require little to no effort overall from the OP (doesn't offer any thoughts, opinions, or guidelines of their own to help encourage discussion).
AI-generated content is not allowed on the subreddit. We originally classified these posts under the low-effort/low-quality content rule, but due to the rapidly increasing popularity of these programs, it has now been separated into its own rule. Examples include but are not limited to images created with programs like Midjourney or DALL-E, as well as scripts/fanfiction created by text-based programs like ChatGPT. A lot of these AI content generation programs use internet databases of images and writing to create their libraries and do not provide any credit or compensation to the original creators for what they use.
No reposts/common topics. Please use the subreddit search feature and check pinned announcement posts for recent news/events being discussed and for recurring topics that have been discussed recently or at some point in the past. Also, this subreddit is not Google, so please utilize the Supernatural Wiki and other search engines to answer simple questions.
Always properly credit the artist when posting fanworks. "Stolen from Facebook" is not considered you giving credit.
Reddit's rules on spam click here. Reddit's rules on self-promotion click here. Submitting a bunch of different posts in a short period of time or making several posts about the same topic will count as spam. This includes, but is not limited to, repetitive posts about: convention photo ops, one-liner questions, merchandise "show-and-tell", or artwork. Please condense multiple photos into one album and one post.
Spoilers Policy: A. Any and all content relating to a specific season must be given that season's flair; do not flair it "News/Misc" or "Fanworks". B. No spoilers of ANY seasons or episodes are allowed in post titles, however no-context title spoilers are allowed ONLY if they do not give specific context for the topic being discussed (i.e., making a post about soulless Sam is allowed as long as the title does not provide information about why or how he became soulless). C. Do not spoil past the season OP has flaired their post as without a spoiler markup. D. Spoiler markup in comments: [Text here](/spoiler) looks like Text here.
Post Titles Must Be Concise and Descriptive. Post titles must provide an exact, concise description of the content. Titles should clearly explain what the post is about without additional commentary, jokes, or filler. No Backstory or Fluff: Titles should not include personal commentary, jokes, or irrelevant information. Save that for the body of your post or a comment. Specific: Titles must not be vague or misleading. They should prepare the reader for exactly what they will see in your post. No Complaints or Moderator Mentions: Do not reference previous posts, moderator actions, or any grievances within the title or body of the post. Please message the mod team directly to voice any concerns or frustrations.

How could dean touch the ghost in episode of roadkill where the ghost was trying to stab dean with knife- plus another thing that doesn't make sense is why ghost didn't use telekinesis which could toss dean out in that episode and instead used his hands which shouldn't be existent to attack dean with knife where he struggled, plus how could the boys even see the ghost from outside, i mean sam i can understand but still even he couldn't see spirit of dean when dean died and had to contact him via ouija , so why and how could they interact with the ghosts ...am i missing a point here?
This is my first time watching but between his witch mom and how Sam and Dean treat Crowley I’m surprised he hasn’t started a war. He’s done some evil shit to them but also helped them immensely, to the point I don’t know why they hate him so much. Plus both Sam and Dean have both a lot of evil shit!
I'm a server at a deep dish restaurant in Chicago. My co-worker was like do you know this character from Supernatural and he said it was Sam. At first I didn't believe him, he was wearing a beanie and was on his phone the whole time so I couldn't get a good look. Turns out it really was him. Bro is super freakin' tall lol I said bye but didn't get a pic, I wasn't his server so felt weird to ask.
Out of all of the characters that Dean & Sam screwed over the killing of Death was the most egregious. Death was just about the only supernatural character I can’t believe that the writers had the two characters do that to Death.
In the beginning he was really cool, funny, family centric and everything. He was a bit annoying with the im a macho man monkey smooth brain logic but his positive traits made it right.
After s5 and especially around the leviathans he went full douchebag. Now at season finale in s9 i was at a point that if he would talk to me like he did to Sam i would let him to do whatever the fuck he want and leave. At this point the only reason im not hating him is because of the memories when i watched the early seasons as a kid and because he is Jensen.
Yes I know the mark of Cain cause some of it but it started before, its just a lot worse now and unlike soulles Sam he feels like smooth brained douchebag.
!As told to Lucifer by Chuck. Didn’t want a spoiler in the title!<
So, Lucifer in his nature (pre-Mark) already disliked humanity, and the Mark just strengthened that. So what does that mean for how the Mark corrupted Dean? That he loves to kill?
I think there is an argument for that, since he described Purgatory as ‘pure’. Some aspect of him enjoyed it.
Also, Chuck told Dean that he couldn’t put the mark on him again because he’s already been corrupted. What does that mean?
And lastly, what kind of effect would the Mark have had on Sam? Would he be stronger than Dean? I think he might have, since he resisted Lucifer. But to be honest I wouldn’t describe Sam as a natural-born-killer.
If Sam had kept the Mark, it would pretty much have made all of season 10 obsolete. Back to where the started, hundreds of deaths later. A great argument for just killing the Winchesters together and having done with it, lol.
What do y’all think?
PS: please no spoilers beyond season 11! I’m a first-time watcher.
I just learned that the episode Faith (1x12) featured one of my all time favorite songs, Don’t Fear The Reaper by Blue Öyster Cult, during the scene that introduced us to the reapers. It makes SO MUCH SENSE to use that song. But I have only ever watched the show on Netflix, and they have some other random song idek what its called. I feel so betrayed because I watched season 1 over a decade ago and never knew this.
Anyone able to find any Alexander Calvert panels in 2024?
Supernatural is available on Netflix US so get yourself a subscription and find a cheap vpn! I have watched the entire thing before with my brother but was currently on season 6 with my girlfriend and finding this was such a relief!
So I just watched season 1 for the first time and haven't watchdd episode 1 of season 2 or any other episode, but is the ending just all 3 of them dying by a big black truck? It was kinda underwhelming for me.
So I’m watching season 5 episode 10 ‘Abandon all hope’ right now and i just saw the part where >! Ellen and Jo die 😢!< and Ellen says to the hell hound “You can go straight back to hell, you ugly bitch.” And it got me thinking would it go back to hell?
If it went back to hell then what is the point in killing it, it will just come back to earth. Or would it now not be able to leave? Can salt and iron even kill a hell hound or would it have to be the colt?
Then, we must ask ourselves where do hellhounds come from, what are they? Are they demons? Do they go to the Empty when killed? Or are they monsters? Do they go to purgatory?
These are the important questions.
Edit: I forgot, if they are demons then how did they come to be? Regular demons are humans that went to hell and had the humanity tortured out of them, so what? Hellhounds are dog that went to hell and had the dogity tortured out of them????? That doesn’t seem right to me.
I mean what happened to ‘all dogs go to heaven’?
Best storylines imo are finding john, special kids, deans hell countdown, sams demon blood, angels, apocalypse basically everything from season 1 to 5, mark of cain, and Darkness
Favorite storylines are just basically all of them and leviathans, maybe the angel/demon tablet thing but except for sams demon blood one, its so sad everyone made him feel like a monster i hate it because of that. Although its well written not my fav. Plus not that very fond of anything after s11 maybe the multiverse is kinda good. Other than that i dont really like anything.. (I am mentioning the general/main storylines of seasons not the minor ones).
My sister passed away on September 11th this year and she was an advid Supernatural fan & my siblings and I are were looking to do a tattoo for her with supernatural being the main theme . I am looking for some ideas for the design please help !
I'm not mad, just curious.
We watch on a firestick and pay for the ad free version, not sure Iif that makes a difference? When I check online on my phone (not the app) it says its gone, but I am currently watching season 13 as I type this..
So I’ve been hearing about Supernatural for over a decade now but never got around to watching it until about a month ago. I’m doing my first watch (I say first cause I’m sure I’ll be rewatching lol, I love it) and am already almost done with season 9. I notice in other shows set up like this one that it’s common to not cut the actors’ hair between seasons, helps reinforce the passage of time, yada yada. Well..
I started to feel Sam’s hair was getting a little long in season 7, but you know, whatever. Only noticed in a few episodes. Then season 8 came and I noticed in most of the episodes. It was even longer than before and obnoxiously silky. Now I’m on episode 21 of season 9 and I just don’t understand what production was thinking… IT’S SO LONG! I try to remind myself of those few years where the popular hair styles were all long mop-head hair (as demonstrated in Harry and Ron’s hair in Goblet of Fire lol) but this season was filmed years after that trend. Like, Dean obviously regularly sees a barber, so what is the excuse? 😂
If he doesn’t get a hair cut by season 10…
The argument is always Sam or Dean but on my 3rd rewatch and man... Castiel Season 4 is just beautiful. Just sharing.
#youshouldshowmesomerespect
I’m thinking of which episodes were the most important in terms of creating sam and dean’ world.
So far, I’m thinking of:
Pilot
Dead man’s blood
Devil’s trap
Crossroad blues
Born under a bad sign
All hell breaks loose 1 & 2
A very supernatural Christmas
No rest for the wicked
Lazarus rising
Metamorphosis
Heaven and Hell
Monster at the end of this book
When the levee breaks
Lucifer rising
Song remains the same
Dark side of the moon
Point of no return
Swan song
Ok, I’m gonna stop there only because this is getting long 😂
Does anyone have any idea what was in Dean Smith's cleanse? It was in the episode where he and Sam were in an ultimate universe because an angel wanted to teach Dean a lesson.
