So guys, I have a softbank Xperia 1 3, when it had japanese software sim was working, I wanted to change Android version from 12 to 13, so I downloaded android 13 (south east Asia vers) and I flashed it, phone was working but it couldn't get any signal, it's not carrier locked and all taxes have been paid
Customization and functions are worse than on iOS and OneUI, for example:
- I can't select my quick actions on the lock screen.
- I can't turn off the control center on the locked screen (so that no one can turn off Wi-Fi or Bluetooth without me).
- I cannot record calls (on the A30s, the built-in app can do this).
- I can't turn on the screen without touching the keys.
- sometimes there are small drops in the frame rate when changing applications and in animations.
- I cannot conveniently take screenshots (edit them without saving them in the gallery and send them immediately to the person).
- I cannot reach the brightness with 1 hand (on OneUI, the brightness was accessible at the very bottom of the screen when double-swiping down on the desktop).
- I have worse mobile network reception on Sony.
- I can't recognize text on screenshots and photos without third-party applications (such as Google Gemeni, Google Leans, etc.), even on my old Samsung A30s, this function is built into the system and works without the Internet.
And that's just what I use almost every day.
Yes, you can say I bought a cheap smartphone, but my old cheap Samsung A30s (which my daughter now has) doesn't have these issues and has all these features.
It seems to me that the main problem of Sony is that the TOP managers themselves do not use their smartphones in everyday life.
I am in Australia and after the 3G shutdown my Xperia j9110 no longer connects to the mobile data and can't call or message. It shows SIM 1 not allowed. I assume my phone is now a brick.
So should I buy a new Sony Xperia or wait a bit longer or whats the best option right now for Australians using Sony Xperia.
if any technician have the circut diagram of the sony xperia 1(2019) phones motherboad circuit diagram plz forward it to me urgent..!
I have full data access but zero calls in or out. No warning or anything from Telstra.
I am in Australia and I use a Sony Xperia Pro-I, which I purchased from Sony China's official website. After the 3G shutdown, I switched from Telstra to Vodafone. However, I can't make or receive calls, though sending SMS and using mobile data work fine. Today, I visited a Vodafone store. The staff were very friendly and checked all the settings. They seemed to have their own IMEI checker, and of course, my phone passed all tests. They tried everything and believe my phone shouldn’t be affected by the 3G shutdown. I mentioned that, to my knowledge, many Sony phones have been impacted. They suggested that I may need to contact Sony to request a firmware update to make the phone compatible with Australian networks. (P.S. My Xperia IV, purchased from Hong Kong, works fine with Vodafone so far).

Hi all, I've had the 1 VI for a over a month now but despite my earlier success getting everything working using 4636 shizuku and pixel ims, my wifi calling is the only thing that isn't working.
The play by play of events is that I received the 1 VI over a month ago transferred my sim to the Xperia, and did all the above steps and everything was working including wifi calling.
I then had to transfer my sim back to my old at&t phone temporarily for work purposes for a few weeks. Then today I transferred the sim back to the Xperia and everything works EXCEPT for wifi calling. I've checked all the pixel ims settings and sim card settings in the phone and they all say vowifi calling is enabled. But no matter what I do the phone won't make calls over wifi. I've already ensured location settings are enabled and already tried reset network settings and wifi settings
I suspect theres something wrong with the wifi calling provisioning file in the system files. That a factory reset might fix. But that's such a pain in the ass.
Does anyone have any suggestions for reprovisioning wifi calling without factory resetting? Like how to reset or delete the wifi calling provisioning file or apk?
Xperia is not a brand for normies
Hi ,
I've very strange problem on my Xperia 1. I had some sim card recognation issues last year so my simcards was disconnecting randomly then I gave up and bought new phone. Lately I started to play with my Xperia 1 again and I installed custom ROM , Derpfest Andorid 14. My simcard works stable now but I don't have any signal.
Is there anyone can help me with this ? I believe that it's kinda software issue.
Hey I noticed that a lot of Xperia users like me are annoyed with google photos for various reasons and that we all want a Xperia photo/video gallery app. Please vote and if the majority wants it, we can organize and make a request to sony to build a modern Xperia album app. Do you want a Xperia native photo/video gallery app?
Hi!
I have 1V EU version with the latest updates and I have the infamous lag, FPS drop and now it's becoming so often than I hate using my phone. Now it's even happening when scrolling Instagram reels or watching youtube. I disabled Chrome and that fixed it for 2 days, but then It came back. I tried all the solution I could find on the internet, with all the Developer options, FPS lock etc, nothing helped.
Should I install a custom ROM from XDA or throw it in the fire or is there a permanent fix?
Hi guys,
I would like to know if there is a power button that will fit well on my Sony xa1, I couldn't find much replacement parts online. Is there any other phone's power button that's compatible?
Thanks.

Hi everyone! I bought a Sony Xperia 1 Mark 3 back in 2021 and I'm still using it today with few issues—except for the fingerprint sensor (replaced once under warranty and broken again about a week ago) and a battery that’s starting to show its age. I’ve really enjoyed this phone and was considering upgrading to the Xperia 1 V, or maybe even the 1 VI, though I’m not a big fan of its shape (or the price tag).
I love the tall form factor, the clean software experience, and the camera app, but I’ve read quite a few negative reviews about the screen turning greenish and the fingerprint sensor issues not being fully resolved. So now I’m on the fence—should I go for one of these models, or maybe even switch to a different brand?
The Mark 4 Users, How is it holding up in the 2024?? Is it that bad?? Like everyone says?
Until a couple of weeks back I would easily get around 11 hours of SoT when not using Camera or watching videos and 7 hours SoT watching videos or using camera. Now I barely get 8 hours. Is this sudden degradation normal?
