I have a Huawei P8 Lite from 2017 and its still going strong. It has 16GB of internal memory.
Lately its been notifying me the device is out of storage. No matter how many apps i delete and cleanups i run, it just fills up to 98% very quickly.
The apps i have left installed are essential to me. I can rarely afford to download any others because of this storage problem.
All media is set to be stored on the portable SD card (images, video, audio files). I have just cleared 60mb worth of cached tumbnails but even that didn't buy me much space. The apps get bloated with data while the cache is very small. I avoid clearing data as it means I erase all settings, preferences and saved accounts. Main offenders are firefox, youtube and all the google services.
I did manage to uninstall the ones baked into the phone that I don't use tanks to Universal Android Debloater.
I don't know what else do to at this point. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hello everyone,
I do not know if this is the place, but i am looking to install a linux os (any really) to get rid of the android go from a Dbook111 2go ram and 32go of space.
the issue is.. well that model has a keyboard of course but no tactile, so most android app are awnfull to use on such device.
it was given to my old mother, and she would like to be able to use it like her long gone manjaro laptop.
How do i do that ?
Sincerely
I set alarm volume to high yesterday at night.
Today and every damn day I wake up and it's at 14% (14% is the lowest you can go on the slider before muting) and I miss the alarm. "Smooth volume increase" is OFF. DoNotDisturb is set to deactivate when any alarm rings. Nothing apparently should do this.
I have no idea WTF IS HAPPENING. Android 14. I've seen another post of someone complaining about their phone lowering it to 14% too
Hello. I'm on Android 12, and while my phone has a headphone jack, I use Bluetooth often.
I really hate how quiet notifications are in Bluetooth mode. Same with keyboard sounds; I like them, sue me. But I've figured out that it's partially because they're tied to media volume of all things. Why?
The only way to have them at a similar volume as if wired is to have the media volume on max, which is very impractical if consuming media.
Is there any way to make notification volume over Bluetooth not be connected to media volume, or am I helpless? I've looked into Developer Options, but I haven't found much.
Like the title says I deleted a bunch of stuff off my phone a two or a year ago back and now i would do anything to get them back, them being past the 60 & 30 day mark is a understatment, i understand if there is no way to recover them but I'm hoping there is a way, please and thank you.
Hi! I recently switched from Apple to Android (s24 ultra in case that's relevant). On my iPhone, if someone sent me a dozen voice notes in a row, I could play the first one and have them continue in the background while I use other apps. I cannot figure out how to make that happen with android.
Voicenotes will play automatically when I have whatsapp open but if I try to check my email or something I have to go back into whatsapp every time a vn ends to manually start the next.
Any idea what setting I'm missing?
I downloaded a jpg image, however I cannot delete it. I tried using the gallery, the file app, the windows file explorer and even ADB. Problem is my filename is "téléchargement.jpg" and the special character "é" is represented as \351 in the terminal. That means the command supposed to delete the file cannot read the filename properly since \ does something (i think it ignores a character idk ?). I tried rm, unlink, inum delete but I cannot figure out how to get rid of it :(
I'm not sure where else to post this. Three days ago I got a notification that I have a voicemail from 1-904-327-8492. When I click on it, it calls the number and tells me to enter the password. I can't clear the notification, and it's been there for 3 days now. What do I do?
Is there a place where I can browse user made themes and download them ?
especially if it allows +18 themes
The built in themes place doesn't quite cut it for me.
I use an Asus ROG Phone 6 running Android 12 if that makes a difference.
For some time now I have been experiencing a rather complicated problem with my Samsung Galaxy S22+ smartphone. When using Android Auto in my Toyota Aygo 2019, the smartphone not only does not charge, but loses battery at a surprising rate. After disconnecting from the car, the smartphone continues to lose battery faster than usual. The problem disappears only after connecting to a standard charging station and fully charging the battery.
The problem appeared spontaneously, I didn't change the settings, cable or car. Previously, the car charged the phone normally, quite slowly, but it did charge. The problem occurs regardless of the cable and in other cars, it seems to be related to the phone. I've reseted the device and updated the software Any ideas what should I do?
Picked up my Redmi Note 10 Pro again to play some shooter games with a PS4 controller. Used to work fine before - connect controller, start game, controller works. Last time was about a year ago with cod mobile. Now it doesn't react to any input. Controller still connects fine. But I noticed it says "gamepad connected" even when the controller is off and Bluetooth deactivated. Tried multiple other shooter games, all of them show "gamepad connected" either way.
With the controller actually connected, most games don't respond to any input at all or just a few buttons. Onscreen controls also don't dissappear when controller is connected.
I already tried removing the device in the Bluetooth menu, resetting Bluetooth settings and clearing data/cache of the Bluetooth app and restarted my phone. I also checked my language and input settings and even disabled all settings that could allow a physical keyboard just to rule out that possibility.
I have Samsung S21 FE, but this has been an issue with multiple android phones.
I wear hearing aids, that are always connected to my phone via bluetooth, as I use them for calls, Spotify etc.
My specific issue is in this scenario: I have connected my phone to a bluetooth speaker and placed phone and speaker together. I then go to the bathroom/outside/whatever and my hearing aids gets disconnected. When I come back in range of the phone, the phone will reconnect with the hearing aids and start using the hearing aids for audio output.
Is there any way to make the phone prioritize the bluetooth speaker over the hearing aids, so that it will continue to play on the speaker, even when the hearing aids re-connect?
Nokia no longer releases security patches for my handset Nokia G20. What I do is I go to:
Settings>>>Security>>>Google Play system update
and install updates as soon as I get one.
Thanks tothis feature I can still use my phone without worrying about security.
Now that we are getting security patches through the play store thanks to project mainline should I even care how many years of security patches a phone brand is offering?
If the answer is yes please explain why.
Your opinion will help me while choosing my next phone.
Hello,
I have an app I have to install on a lot of Samsung tablets.
It's a specially developed app and a lot of work, especially at the moment where I have to do it on dozens of tablets. Sadly, no MDM where I can push it.
So far I wrote an ADB script that installs the app, connects with wi-fi, installs a device manager, sets permissions so I can put it in kiosk mode so the only app that can run is this specific app.
so far so good.
But the first time I start the app I have to:
Allow to take pictures and record audio > select While using app
Allow to record audio > select while using app
Allow to make and manage phone calls > select allow
Allow to access photos, videos, music and audio > select allow
Then I get the 'please enable show on top setting' which I already sorted out with the adb shell pm grant <appname> android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW setting which works great.
Is it possible to issue a adb command to give the allow and while using app permissions?
I don't exactly know how to word this, but the colours on my phone just got ... not brighter, but like ... the colour contrast changed somehow and I don't know what happened or how to fix it. Does anyone else know what could have happened?
Hey, I have a weird problem and I can't find a solution to it anywhere. Last week I put a new SD card into my phone. I formatted it as internal storage and it asked me if I wanted to move over all my files, to which I said yes. After everything had been moved, I tried to open the gallery app and my phone crashed, and when I restarted it by taking out the battery it didn't recognise the SD card. But something else also changed.
Ever since then I can't do anything that requires even the tiniest but of storage. Every time I try to take a photo or download anything it says that the storage is full, even though now there's like 30 GB of space, which I can also see in the settings. When I try to download an app, the "uninstall some apps to free space" thing pops up, but it says "0 apps selected. Ready to install" and if you continue it isn't downloading. I can't even post on any social media because when I click the create post button the app crashes.
I thought that maybe a new SD card would fix it, but I just inserted a new one and nothing changed except that I now have 160 GB of space that I can't use. The phone is a Fairphone 3 running on Android 11.
I live in australia where they just passed a new law to phase out 3G, and any phones that fall back to it when dialing 000 (our equivalent to 911). Would it be possible to turn this feature off with the debug bridge or in the developer settings maybe? I'm on an android dumbphone and I really like where I'm at with it, I'd like to not have to switch phones if I can help it. Thank you!
I have a couple of users with Samsung phones. These are personally owned phones with company portal enabled. Since a while I have been hearing people about certain apps not having internet connection or showing an error. It are not the same apps, and it happens on both WiFi and mobile data. Restarting phone, resetting network settings, upadting webview, clearing cache, disabling battery optimalisation and saving didnt work. Any of you have an idea how to fix this?

I cant animate anymore because of this stupid bug
I recently got the S9 FE tablet however fb messenger does not have other app options to “open” pdf files. Whenever I want to download a pdf file, I see browsers apps like chrome and Samsung internet, and docs. That’s it. I don’t have my pdf viewer app as an option nor Samsung notes. Oddly enough, when I open the chrome version of fb messenger, I see the pdf browser and Samsung notes but none of the browser apps. Is there a way to add more app options in “Open with”??
Hey guys, does disabling google services framework stop your phone from automatic system updates?
I've seen people talk about it on facebook but really don't see any trustworthy reasons and actual facts on it. Thanks in advance!
Looking to force web browser and load of a custom page on power on. Open in hardware (fire stick, chrome case, kobi, firmware on tv)
Any ideas how it could be done?
Thank you so much!
My storage problems is one thing but my day has become rather stressful trying to find out how to transfer mobile legends to my new sd card, my phone is Samsung galaxy a04 and I only have 32Gb of storage on it, I got a 128gb MICROSDXC card for my phone 100mb/s process speed brand is sandisk
I tried formatting it as internal storage because I heard it would solve my problems but I can't seem to find the button to format it, what do I do now why isn't this thing working
i have a xiaomi note 11 that is 64GB in ROM and i was hoping to add a memory card to add to it. but for some reason i can't have the apps moved or installed on the memory card. is there any way to do that or is it impossible ? i don't have many files on these, it's just the apps i use are actually quite big.
I’ve recently decided to get an android phone as my next phone. I was a previous iPhone user. Any suggestions on what phone to get that is around the $1000 range. Also one with a SIM card slot.
I used to use Nova launcher back in the day, and it had a handy thing where you could make a widget for basically any activity. Whether from an app or from the os, you could launch it.
I've since uninstalled Nova for various reasons... Are there any well recommended, FOSS activity launcher apps out there? Or is there a way this can be done natively now?
Pretty much the title. I'll be listening to music via Bluetooth or just my phone's speaker and it'll cut out and the volume bar has the headphone icon on. And it'll flash back and forth between aux and whatever I was using previously. I don't know why. Google said to power it off with the headphones plugged in and sometimes it works but only for a couple hours if that. Any advice?
I'm attempting to transfer some files from my One Plus 7 to my SSD through my laptop using robocopy; however, every time I run the command, I keep getting either the same error or similar errors pertaining to the source file pathway (the pathway to my phone through my laptop). I've tried tweaking the pathway as much as I could, and I've tried playing around with robocopy to ensure I wasn't doing anything wrong, but the error is almost always the same:
Accessing Source Directory C:\Users\X\This PC\oneplus7\ Internal shared storage The system cannot find the path specified.
Now I'm pretty sure the pathway I'm using from the laptop isn't correct because it's different and more detailed when I view it directly on my phone. What should I do? Why isn't the correct pathway being read by my laptop, and would manually inputting the pathway that I'm seeing on my phone fix the issue I'm having? Or is there something deeper I need to address?
I just got an OPPO A18, I previously had the A16 with the same update and everything worked fine. I've made absolute sure notifications are allowed for everything, reset my phone multiple times, redownloaded apps, changed the optimization settings to allow background running for everything and changed priorities for the apps I need the most. But it's just not working. They were working fine until I put my SIM card in. Is there anything I can do or is it stuck like this?
I have a S22 Ultra, with a network unlock code from AT&T. Instructions say to insert a non-AT&T SIM card. I don't have one. I just want to unlock the phone so I can sell it.
Been searching for a few hours now and can't find anything. Mostly crap articles and clikbait and sites with info that doesn't work or isn't relevant. Can't believe this is so damn difficult. I must be missing something.
Can anyone please help? How am I supposed to get a non-AT&T SIM card if I'm not signing up on another carrier?
