Hello! I have an app on my android phone (Yahoo Fantasy Football, Sports) and I can't stand the latest version of the app. So I went to APKmirror and downloaded the version from 2023 and went to Google Play store and uncheck the automatic updates on this app.

Then I enjoyed the old app for couple of the days until one morning first time I opened the app and it suddenly have updated to latest version. Deleted it and installed the old version again, this repeats after couple of days.

Is there any other options to stop the automatic updates on this app permamently, seems so the Google Play unchecked updates did not help.

Hi there, my 16PM just arrived - unfortunately my previous Android was no longer working and I can't access it no more.

I only care about my WhatsApp chats - how do I restore those? I have the backup in my Google account, but how do I move them to my Whatsapp on the new iPhone.

I was recently trying to upload an image to a website and it pulled up the media picker.

The media picker has images from several years ago that I know I deleted from my phone. When I checked in the Google files app, the images don't show up there, but I can still upload them from the media picker.

How do I access these images that I've already deleted once, so that I can actually delete them? They're not in my Google drive. They're not in my phone's storage, at least as far as I can tell. The only way I can access these images is through the media picker, which doesn't allow me to delete them.

Edit: Even when I go to Settings > Storage, the images don't show up there. Where is Media Picker finding these?

Media Picker has images from early 2021, but both Storage and Files only have images back to mid-2023 when I got this phone

As currently an iPhone user I want to switch to an android phone within the next 6 months (if my iPhone doesn’t die earlier) I don’t want to buy an iPhone anymore. So I looked into android phones and it’s so long ago since I last bought an android.

I looked at the store and 2 phone brands really stoot out to me and that were the google pixel and the Samsung galaxy S line. In particular the S24 line because I like the size of the phone more. I would buy the new S25 than of course.

What is like the main difference between the 2 phones other than of course it’s from another company. Are there like key differences in how the android version on both phones work or some differences in the screens, power, battery life, overall performance etc etc.

I have a S24U and I had autofill turned on.
It is very useful and I do not wish to disable this function.
But recently, I have this unknown number filling up the telephone number field.
I cannot remember where I got this number and how I saved it and I cannot find it anywhere..
I tried holding it and hoping to get to where it got it from but no luck. It will fill up the field instead.
Does anyone knows how to get rid of it ?Thank you in advance!

My phone kept saying something like "System UI not responding." it gave me the option to close or wait, and I tried both options, nothing. It wont shut off, wont reset, wont power off, and im stuck on the lock screen. I cant open it, and my background is one of a rehab app, (downloaded to help stop drinking soda). Is there any way to fix this? Anything I fucked up?

On Android 11, I noticed that after disabling apps I don't use (like Wi-Fi), it still says it can atomically connect to nearby networks even with it disabled and off. How does it have permission to still connect? It let me disable it before 11.

hi all so i have a samsung galaxy a32 (one ui version 5.1 and android version 13 if that is information you need) and recently i discovered the setting that allows me to set up sleep mode, and set up a routine. i initially had youtube as an app that i couldn't open while sleep mode was activated, but then after a day i added it to the allow list. except despite having done this, my phone never took away the greyed out app, and it still gives me the message that youtube is unavailable when sleep mode is on, even when sleep mode was off, and i had deleted it as a mode option. i can't access the app by following a link or anything like that either, i get the same message. i can't uninstall youtube since it's part of the phone, but i have tried disabling and re-enabling it, and have tried restarting my phone countless times, but none of it is working, and youtube is still greyed out for me. is there any way to fix this? preferably without having to do a factory reset.

Is there another method I should use? Is there a way to root my device without wiping my data? From my undestanding unlocking the bootloader wipes everything. Could I move it to my SD card?

So ive been thinking about using my old pixel 6 for a wifi 6 hotspot, it will be connected to the internet via ethernet, and its mainly just for my room, so its range isn't a huge concern. However the reason im interested in wifi 6 is for target wake time, ofdma and mu-mimo, do android phones that can create a wifi 6 hotspot provide those features for other devices?

As for why i don't buy a wifi 6 router, we have starlink, so we only get 150mbps, and im the only person in the house that has wifi 6 devices, for if i can just use an old phone to get twt, ofmda and mu-mimo, that would be easier and cheaper. Thanks 🙏

My phone (Motorola G Stylus 5G 2023) has a headphone jack, but it's slightly damaged, causing my earphones to hiss a lot when they're plugged in, but when I test them on other devices, they are fine. There's a setting in developer options that says "Disable USB audio routing" and I have that specific setting disabled. However, no matter how much I've researched the topic, I can't get audio to go through my USB-C adapter. When I plug the adapter in, I either get a notification saying something like this adapter is not supported, or nothing. I've realized it just may not be an option on my device, but why would "Disable USB audio routing" even be a setting then? This sub is my last hope.

By the way, the description for the setting is, "Disable automatic routing to USB audio peripherals."

My dad has a Motorola phone. He called me earlier asking how to fix a problem that I've never come across. Whenever he closes an app there is a widget-type-thing at the bottom of his screen that tells him that "An app had been closed. 50 MB of data cleared." 50 MB just being an example... My dad lives 3 hours away and doesn't know how to take a screenshot otherwise I'd show you a picture. Does anybody know how to stop this from happening? My guess is it is a feature on Motorola phones because he insists he hasn't installed any new apps in a couple months. Thanks in advance.

I set my lock screen to random. I have been enjoying this feature for a few months, the pictures looked nice and kept changing.
But now, every day, I get engagement rings on my lock screen. The images do rotate, but... the engagement rings are coming back really often and it's creepy. My bf is going to think I am trying to send messages lol
Where do the random images come from and what the fuck?

For a roleplaying game in a few weeks, I have an AI. On paper, there is no reason the party should distrust this AI. It is benevolent, and will take orders from them. The only way it turns 'hostile' is if they give it an order that puts it in an Aasimov's law violation.

So of course, I want to use GladDOS or HAL9000 or something for it's voice. Is there an app I can run that will let me text to speech in either of those voices? Or a similarly 'yo, this AI is definitely going to kill us all' voice.

Has anyone else experienced issues with standard messaging between Android and Apple? It was all fine until a couple weeks ago when sent messages started being super delayed and/or sent in the incorrect order. I would appreciate any solutions if people have any?

So I'm trying to download a file and Google is doing it's thing and I have to enter a password to download it , playprotect is forcing me to enter a password but I've entered multiple passwords like my Google and Samsung password but nothing has worked??? What password am I supposed to enter?

I just got a new Pixel 9 for my grandmother, and I'm trying to do the initial setup using her older Samsung phone.

When I choose "Android or Pixel" for the old device, the Samsung has a pop up that says "Set up Pixel 9".

I choose that option and then after trying to connect for a while it always fails saying "Sorry, something went wrong."

I've tried like 30 times. I've tried scanning the setup QR code as well. I've tried restarting both phones. I've tried updating the older Samsung (it says there are no more updates), and I even tried updating the new Pixel 9 from Android 14 to Android 15 and then factory resetting it: no joy.

I myself have a Google Pixel 9 Pro, and just for fun I tried doing the same setup using my phone as the source and it worked instantly.

This makes me think the problem is with the Samsung phone (though it could just be a two-way incompatibility between the two). This is pretty stupid as I thought that basic Android compatibility was a feature of the Android world.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi all, looking to buy a pixel for the first time, yes I love the 9 and all the features, but it's just out of budget, been looking at getting the the 8 (non pro), is it still worth it? Anyone know where I can get a realistic good deal (Australia). Will be using the phone long term (2+ years) and for basics, no gaming or "professional photography". Or maybe the 8a? Just looking for value for money. Any other advice welcome. PS long time android user (no iPhone nonsense here)

I'm using a Wiko View 4 phone, and every time I send a message in the YouTube live chat, the keyboard closes automatically. It's annoying because I have to click back into the chat to write again. Does anyone know how to prevent the keyboard from closing after sending a message? Any help is appreciated!

When I moved from iphone to andriod 8 years ago it was a pain in the *** and it appears things haven't changed. I am trying to transfer photos and videos from my old andriod to my iphone. ITunes apparently no longer does this so I downloaded apple devices. When I go to sync a folder on my pc with my andriod photos none of the videos transfer as they are mp4 files... Do I need to convert all these videos just to see them on my iphone? Also move to IOS is only available upon factory reset and I've spent weeks setting up my phone to this point so unless I can backup my phone perfectly without losing anything, I'm not willing to try it to transfer the videos (but I'm curious if I'd get the same mp4 problem).

A few years ago, I changed my default messaging app from Messages+ to Samsung Messages out of curiosity. Almost immediately, my phone began re-sending a swarm of old text messages (presumably messages that never sent?). I immediately restarted my phone, and swapped back without issue.

Obviously Message+ is now being sunsetted, and I'm worried about this happening again. I already have Textra installed, but is there a guaranteed way to prevent this happening again? Or am I just paranoid?

Let's see if someone can shine a bit of light in this weird issue I am having with my OnePlus 9 Pro.

So, I think one of my OnePlus type C - type C cables might be damaged, it is hard to notice because at first it charges normally. But after like 30 min it stops working (usually goes from fast charging, to normal charging, to not charging).

The weird stuff comes now, after this my phone does not recognize any cable/charger you can throw at it. Now I have managed to charge it with wireless charging, but not without problems: it first starts with AirVooc charging for a few minutes and then it stops charging.

I have monitored the device temperature and the energy the phone is getting and, it doesn't overheat (temp max 36 C) and the moment it wants to surpass 850 mA it stops charging.

So in short I have a Doogee S41 max which is used by one of our kids, issue being it developed the crashing loop on the play service, normally not an issue factory reset and start again, issue being it was family locked and even after removing the restrictions it can't update since the family app can't launch.

So I've been trying to just get into recovery mode and do a reset from there but for some reason I cannot get it, I've tried the usual volume + power options and plugging in the cable at certain times but there must be some trick to it on this phone.

So my question is how the hell do you get into the boot loader/recovery on this model.

I'm told to use smartswitch but all I can copy is data, videos etc I don't have an option to install all apps that I had installed on iphone on my android device.
Obviously I can just install the apps one by one I'm just wondering if there is a lazier way.

trying to run sone games that cannot run on my phone but they detect that i am using an emulator and getting not only the games force closing for some but for others stating that emulators are banned and that i will get banned for running an emulator, i dont udnerstand the reasoning when people can cheat directly on modded apks anyways, and my phone is not good to play the games i want to play

Hi there ... apologies as I know there have been many itirations of my question already asked however I still can't find the answer I'm seeking.

I was a Telstra TV user but since ending their services, I have mostly transitioned to Foxtel, and even though I absolutely HATE using the Foxtel remote to navigate streaming services on apps (especially Netflix), I am starting to get used to it.

My problem is this. I have been using TelstraTV to cast from my laptop to my TV using Windows+K... as it is soon disappearing, I began searching for alternatives. I did notice however that my actual TV has 'AnyviewCast' pre-installed.... but it really sucks the big one when it comes to casting as it is constantly cutting out! 🤬🤬🤬

... anyways ... can anybody suggest a fix for this, or an alternative to AnyviewCast? Free or cheap please as I'm a PWD on a pension 😳
