I use One Plus Nord 4 and love the ability to turn the display on and off with a double tap. Unfortunately not all smartphones have this, so my question is - does anyone know a solution for other phones? Maybe an app?
Looking for an app as an alternate address book, for when you don't want to add a contact in your main Contacts app and it gets synced to all social media apps. You just want to save details, then search for then later and call or message them from phone'd native calling and messaging.
An auto backup feature would be a plus.
If doesn't exist, good idea for an donationware?
So oneof my friend broke his laptop and he has to submit his school projects in two days. He was working with MS Visio (for flowcharts) and Visual Studio for Javascript programs. Can you guys recommend me a good alternative for Android? I know it maybe hard to do work but he is a student so his projects are like college projects.
Since the big third party api change I haven't seen any active reddit spps that are still being worked on releasing updates and new features. Most apps still work with a workaround. So I'm curious.
Not sure if I'm allowed to post this here if not, sorry and it's ok to delete.
I've been given the opportunity to purchase an unlocked, 2.5 year old, pre-owned, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, 1TB Phone from a family member.
The Phone's history is known to me, it's boxed, mint condition and the price is well under it's true resale value.
I've Googled a few reviews but I'm not satisfied with the answers.
What I would really like to know is what owners have to say about this Phone.
Hopefully by asking here, I can reach a wide audience, who won't pull their punches where honesty is concerned.
TIA :)
I need an app that replicate the functionality for deskthing or kind of desk clock/ music control, weather (If found any one of mentioned can also work) for my Old Android 6.0 Motorola, I want to re-utilize the 16:9 screen of that device, If there is any similar, or close to that app, pls reply.... I have tested most of flip clock apps, but all looks old...
Hello, everyone.
In your opinion, what is the best app for task reminders and organization?
I've tried a few, like Microsoft To Do, Google Tasks, and others, but I'm not quite sure which one is the best.
So, I’d be glad to hear your thoughts.
My boyfriend sent me a screenshot, and in the corner of his screen (along with email), shows he was on an app, with a circle symbol, and in this white circle, there’s sorta like a half ‘macaroni’ symbol, that goes along the bottom of the circle (it basically looks like a circle with a single smile, but without eyes), would appreciate an answer 🙏🏼😭
For example i can enable or disable "location+bluetooth+mobile data" combination.
Edit: looking for non-root options
I know I'm asking a lot on this one.
Phone number thing isn't a huge deal. As I use telegram.
But I want something similar that allows me to change the notification sound per contact.
TIA :)
I'm open to non subscription paid apps also.
I need a simple tasks manager app with:
Picture in tasks
Alarm reminders
More than one reminder (3 or 4)
Decent yearly subscriprion or morw prefered onetime subscription.
Repeated tasks allowance.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some reliable, free, open-source PDF applications that include the basic tools to work with PDFs. Specifically, I need features to:
Merge and split PDFs
Convert PDFs to other formats (like Word or JPEG)
Edit text within PDFs
Highlight text and add annotations
I'm hoping for a straightforward tool that works on mobile. If anyone has suggestions, especially tools you've found useful, I'd appreciate your input. Thanks in advance.
I was using beeper last year before it was shut down. Was amazing while it worked.
I’ve heard BlueBubbles is also good, and that beeper has a “29 min” workaround if you dig on discord.
What’s the best solution in 2024?
Do any solutions allow you to use a phone number instead of an email address for iMessaging?
Hi, I've just published Letter Linker, a simple, ad-free Android game to form words by connecting letters.
The mechanics aren't groundbreaking, as there are many similar games out there. However, all those games are riddled with adverts and all kinds of nonsense, which makes them very frustrating, often even unplayable. Because of that, I decided to create my own from scratch.
The idea here was to create a game that is clean and free of distractions and interruptions. If you think this might be your jam, consider giving it a go – and let me know what you think!
i want the keyboard to be able to show me in a small square what im writing because sometimes i cant see
I followed the Shizuku guide. I have:
Default USB configuration
to Charge Only
(but it always changes back to 'debugging only' no matter what. But nothing works. Shizuku simply randomly stops working. According to everyone else, it should stay running unless I turn off or reboot my phone. But that is just not the case.
Other symptoms:
Does anyone have an up to date Samsung S23, S23+, S23 Ultra phone where this is not an issue?
Hey all,
Does anyone know of an anti-virus app that allows you to exclude files? Bitdefender on android does not let you do this. At one time, most anti-virus apps allowed you to do this but they all seem to have been dumbed down for android over the years.
My dad has different, closely held beliefs than I do and he sends me daily text messages about those beliefs. Yes, daily. He has been asked to stop and has not. He uses specific keywords with every text, so I'm looking for a way to use those keywords to filter out those daily texts specifically. I don't want to block all text communication with him, I just don't want to see those particular messages from him. Is there an app that would allow me to enter keywords for texts that should be hidden/filtered out? I'd like to continue using my preferred texting app, Google Messages. I have a Samsung Galaxy S23+ and I'm on Verizon's network.
Deleted TubeMate cause it was on an older version. Downloaded the latest version from UptoDown, and strangely it had already signed in to my youtube account. I had signed in to my youtube account on the original version, so how could the new version sign in to my youtube even though I deleted the old version, considering it's two different apk files? Did it just access data and cache left over from the old version? It also seemed to have retained some of the download history, which is why I'm guessing it accessed data left over from the older version.
In my old oppo gallery, I can turn the direction of photo without going into the edit page. But my new samsung one now doesn't have that feature. Is there any other gallery apps that get that feature?

For those of you who travel frequently, what is the one Android app you can't go anywhere without? If you have any suggestions for improving your comfort and enjoyment of travel, whether it be for booking, navigation, language translation, or something else entirely,
Hi everyone.
I've been using Microsoft Launcher for quite some time now.
While it's free and works well, I've been considering whether there might be a better launcher out there that I've overlooked.
Do you have any suggestions?
When a song is playing, clicking the artist name will navigate to the artist. But when clicking on the album name, I just get a pop-up that says "Album tab not found! Enable album tab in settings first."
I cannot, for the life of me, figure out where. I don't see anything in Settings > Interface > Albums or Now Playing.
Hello! Greetings.
I am from Privacy nerd community (not subreddit), I wanted an app and software if needed for connecting via WIFI or USB CABLE to use mobile as speakers. I have windows 10 and suggestions awaits. [Now kindly dont say to but new one as I'm gonna use it for gaming and nothing else so not worth for buying a new speakers.].
I got this idea/question from KDE CONNECT. How we can use WiFi for sharing filed via KDE CONNECT, Thought we may use speakers so.
My computer doesn't have the Bluetooth USB, only WiFi USB for connecting WiFi neyworks wirelessly.
Any more information? POCO F1 MIUI 12 | 6gb ram Windows 10 | 7.90gb ram
I just wanted to know that I am planning to buy KWLP and whenever we get new icon packs or widgets it asks us to have a pro key of kwgt so if I have KWLP all the widgets that are available on the play store will work with KWLP, right?
Hi, I wasn't sure how to best word this so let me explain what I'm looking for.
I am going on a month long trip next year and while some things will be scheduled, what my partner and I really want is to be able to impulsively choose what to do on each day, when it comes to activities/restaurants/etc.
I would like an app that lets me make detailed entries about different things to do, and then search through them with tag filtering. Tags I'd use are things like location or type of thing like food or shopping or what not, so that basically it would serve as a pocket rolodex for quickly searching up the next spot to check out for the day.
It'd be cool if it could include pictures but I suppose thats not necessary.
Anyone know of any apps that do this? A bonus would be if I could somehow share the directory with my partner on her phone too.
EDIT: Thanks for the suggestions! I ended up finding Memento Database, which is exactly what I was looking for. It even lets you note a location for the entry and go to google maps with a shortcut button. Big recommend.
Looking for an android app that would let me use an old tablet as an offline surveillance camera using SD storage. Why? When Milton hit, the storm simultaneously took out internet and power so none of our Ring cameras worked even though they use battery power. I want to use an old tablet to capture anything happening while we evacuate. Most systems or apps are useless when connectivity is lost. So need something that still captures activity offline and stores locally.
I from Brazil and i have one app with 99% users from here.
We have around 25k MAU and 1.2M total downloads.
But, im thinking about promote my app in another countries from Tier 1 like USA.
I create one translation of the details and metadata but nothing. Zero downloads from USA.
Someone can help me?
