Please use the above link to read the rules more in depth, but in summary, they are as follows.
Have fun!

My grandfather owned the bar in 1985 and my dad worked there in his young 20s I can’t seem to find any old photos and they have none. Would mean a lot to see some of my family’s history!
It's been a very long time since I've had a garden. I'm looking to plan a medium-sized garden in my backyard this spring and I'm curious what people around Sioux Falls plant usually? I was thinking sweet corn, tomatoes, and green peppers but I'm not sure what else?
I would also appreciate any tips on places to obtain the seeds or starter plants and also approximately when to plant them.
Looking to support someone or a farm that has local fruits/veggies/dairy products. Possibly meats as well. Or even if they would want to barter for homemade goods/cakes/pies/pastries etc. I'm def more interested in eggs, potatoes,squash/zucchini, carrots, tomatoes etc. Beef products and chicken as well. Heavy cream, milk etc as I like to make my own butter and use the buttermilk in baking.

Anyone have an opinion on who's the best and who's as far as dealerships in town. Sometimes it feels like they are all trying to get one over on you, maybe it's just me. P.s used car dealerships mainly
Are there any coworking spaces in Sioux Falls that aren't advertised? I've checked listings and found Startup Sioux Falls, 927 studios and the CNA building. I went to look at all 3 and there were homeless people loitering around the parking lots and just hanging out all around nearby. While walking around we were asked for money multiple times and randomly yelled at by a man clearly not mentally well for walking by where he was. While I'm a sympathetic person I'm not looking to pay to add the stress of that to my day.
Over this summer I will be getting another cat, and I’m just wondering where in Sioux Falls is the best bet to adopt from? Obviously there’s the humane society/cat cafe which you can adopt from but is there anywhere else? I will do my research on any place but just want a good start!
Hello everyone, I’ve recently moved here and was wondering if anyone could recommend some game stores that sell warhammer or if I’m just doomed to order online forever.
Anything I should know about in that area? Thanks!
Im only 17 and crashed my car into a mailbox, unfortunately it was cemented. That didn’t go well I bought some parts off of eBay and got it on my car but need a place to paint it the same color as my car
TL;DR - This is going to be long and I am sorry in advance but ultimately these updates don't really change anything in most people's day to day. We are simply codifying and explaining rules that we've already been passively testing/lightly enforcing for some time now.
https://www.reddit.com/r/SiouxFalls/about/
The mod team met up the Friday night before last at The Dive and we sat down to enjoy some beers and finalized rule changes that we began discussing at our last mod meetup held a few months ago. Every rule we have was touched up in some form, some were reworded for better readability, others were more substantially rewritten or had specific examples added. We also created a couple of new rules.
The good news is that most posts made to the sub are compliant with these new rules and we aren't making any earth shattering changes. All of these rules have been getting passively enforced in some form for a while now, so day to day you will see no visible changes. We're just making it clear, transparent and putting it in writing so everyone is on the same page.
Before I show these rules off though I want to make one thing clear: All of our rules new and old are eligible for exemptions.
Yes, that's right if you write in via modmail and you can make a solid case for why you violating the rules is in the best interests of the community; we WILL work with you. We will either help you construct your post to be compliant with the rules or if your case is compelling enough we will grant you an exception to violate the rule at issue. Asking ahead of time for this ahead of time prior to posting is better then posting and having one of us take it down. Some rules will be easier to get an exception for then others. We grant exceptions to Rule 4 the most and less commonly grant exceptions to Rule 1.
While we've never granted an exception to Rule 2, if you think you can make a spectacular case for why being allowed to violate that rule is in the best interests of everyone - we'd love to hear you out. I won't lie, it'll be an uphill battle but we'll certainly enjoy reading it.
Anyways without further ado, here's the new rules: https://www.reddit.com/r/SiouxFalls/about/
HINT: Clicking on a rule title will drop down some added description and context behind the rule.
Rule 1: The "must be related to Sioux Falls" rule.
Rule 2: Formerly "Obey the rules of Reddit", now the personal attack rule.
Rule 3: The "no posts about middle-finger guy" rule. Now the "banned topics" rule.
Rule 4: No advertising or marketplace posts. (newish rule)
Rule 5: No low effort posts (new rule)
Rule 6: No posts about unsubstantiated or speculative events. (new rule)
Rule 7: All posts that use a link primarily to an external social media platform are banned. (the real reason everyone is reading this post)
Again - we're always happy to talk in the modmail if you have questions before you post and we are willing to hear out all cases for any exceptions to these rules. There's going to be some nuiance in enforcement and we recognise that some may not agree with their post being removed but we are willing to work with all of you. Ultimately the goal for us as moderators is to encourage and help curate more lively discussions, debates and less posts with no activity on the front page.
I will open it up to the floor now. Please voice any thoughts you have and myself and the other mods on the team will be roaming around answering questions.
Can someone pretty please franchise a cheesecake factory in Sioux falls. The closest one is still too dang far.
Saw this in another city subreddit and though I know the answer is “most of em” just wanna know where I shouldn’t be spending my hard earned money here.
I am unsure where else to post this, so if someone has another suggestion, please let me know. I am having difficulty locating meat (poultry, precisely) from a 100% soy-free diet. I have contacted many local farmers through vendors like Glory Garden; all the poultry contains soy. It seems like my best bet is buying online, but I figured I would try once more for a local option. Natural Grocers was the only grocery store that carried soy-free eggs, but unfortunately, they no longer have them. Pasture-raised would be a plus, but at this point, I’ll take what I can get. I am on a waiting list for a 1/4 cow that is grass-fed & finished, and SF and buying it in-store is starting to add up. I would love to find chicken and turkey. Gotta love an intense soy allergy.
Pretty much the title. I moved here a few months ago and I haven’t had much of a chance to explore yet or to make friends. I’m (26F), and not much of a drinker. I enjoy all the witchy things, dogs, coffee, long walks outside, exciting adventures but also just hanging out at home or going thrift shopping lol. I don’t have any kids and I work a normal 9-5 schedule during the week. I hope to meet some like-minded people here!
Hello! I’m looking at apartments here, preferably something around $1000 for rent or less per month. I found The Wondery off 57th street on the southeast side, but have never heard of the property management group before (The Props?) Has anyone had any experience with them or possibly has lived in these and can give me some insight? Otherwise I’m open to suggestions of other options! I tend to prefer the east/south side of town.
I saw a sign on the window as I was driving by, kind of by Coffea, and it said "watch store and repair coming soon" or something like that. Anyone know what's going in there? I have some watches to get repaired.
I just received my 2nd bill from them and I’m shocked at how high it is. I recently moved into a complex where Southeastern is the only provided electric supplier. I live in a 1 bedroom and usually keep it at around 69 in my house, only really running the heat at night. My 1st bill from them was near $100 and I thought maybe they just have a startup fee. My next bill just came in at $140! After being an Xcel customer at my old complex for many years, the highest my bill ever came to was $80 after a hot summer month. If push comes to shove once my lease is up, I may have to move back to the part of town Xcel services. If the bill gets this high during a mild winter, I can’t imagine how they are during a humid summer.
Minored in French ~2 years ago and have barely used it since. Would like to practice somewhat frequently either in person, video-chat, or phone. Also new to the area, hoping this is a chance to meet new people.
When did it become acceptable to park on 41st Street to pick up students from RHS? Just passed by now and there are around 25 cars just happily stopped in the right driving lane. Waiting waiting waiting. Unbelievable
Simple solutions to blocking the street:
Go park across the street.
Park a block down on a side street (where parking is actually allowed).
Park at the park and have the student WALK to you.
looking for somewhere to study that’s open later in the evening
Wanted to see what the ice thickness looks like at the lake if anybody knows
So had my brother build me a pc and he couldnt get it working. Any recommendations on where to bring it?
I was randomly looking up the band Cake and wondering what they were up to. Saw they were touring and they have the Fairgrounds listed as a tour stop at the end of May. I can't find anything else about it anywhere. Anyone know anything?
We choose a theme for every year and restaurants create the best dish they can from it. I just feel like a burger is so limiting and I get sick of just eating a different burger all month. Now they have a pizza battle that’s supposed to be to be going on also. Let’s add a little more variety to the mix. Make it more of a competition where people can give the best of what they’ve got in any way they want to express themselves.
Hey y'all, I'm gunna be visiting the falls and wanted to know what are some dope places to eat and if there are any tcg shops there? Thanks for the info!
