Hey all!! Was wondering if anyone knew anything about the Sanford MLS intership? Also, I was recently accepted and have been dealing with mild gastroparesis and PCOS for the past 4 years. Due to this I use THC/CBD gummies every once in awhile to help with the uncomfortable pain I usually get multiple times a week. I was also wondering if Sanford MLS internships or pre-employments still test for THC in Sioux Falls? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

So I know we are supposed to call 811 and have someone come out to mark utilities before you plant, but I was told today that you are supposed to do that every time you plant anything. It seems really excessive if I had them come out a year ago. The underground utilities are not moving or anything. I asked the lady on the 811 line if I had to call anytime I wanted to plant flowers in my yard and she said yes….that just feels silly.

Do people really call every time they want to plant anything?

We've never done the circus before so have questions about how the ticketing works. Do all shows have the option for general admission? For example, if I don't want to pay $24 a ticket to get reserved seats ahead of time, am I able to go there the day of (for a not GA-only show) and get the $12 GA tickets? Do they then just assign a seat or do you just go in and find a place to sit? Sorry, we really don't know how that works. We've never been to an event that didn't automatically have reserved seats when buying the tickets, other than at a movie!

Trips to Grand Falls from Sioux Falls

I haven't gotten an accurate order in a long time. I was down to visiting about once a month max but after this weekend, I'm done. I won't say what location but the manager yells at his employees, throws food when he gets mad and blames every customer for the order being wrong when they have an issue. It was comical and sad at the same time. Taco John's here I come!

I'm an amateur 3D modeler who uses photogrammetry to recreate things. I've been having fun creating models of local landmarks when the whim hits me. I just listened to a podcast "Local Lou" which is about local history of Sioux Falls, when The Big Slide came up in my mind. Years ago I'd created a model of it, but never paid attention to the bronze historic marker just feet away. D'uh on me. Anyway, I figured I'd share a link to it here for fun.

(Post edited to correct the link. Please note that the slide itself was removed nearly a century ago due to safety issues. The stone bench stood at the top of the slide and can just barely be seen in some photos and postcards predating the slide’s removal. There is a bronze historical marker a few feet away from the bench just to the south. You can see it as you drive towards the end of the circuitous road that goes around the burial mounds).

I travel for work and I often drive north and south on I29 and every time I get close to mile marker 71. My phone disconnects from my vehicle and disables my CarPlay for some time. It happens both traveling north and south like clockwork. Does this happen to anyone else???

I know absolutely nothing about after school programs, but am hoping to gain insight.

I will have a kindergartener starting in fall 2024 and am trying to decide if I want to keep him in Tri-Valley district wherein we would not need an afterschool program due to when the bus would arrive home, or open-enrolling to the new elementary school in SFSD. Tri-Valley is further away, has a pretty long bus ride, and isn’t open on Fridays, so we would need to arrange care all day. The new school is actually closer to us and open on Fridays, which are big wins. But, I think we would need approximately an hour or so of care after school.
Is the after school program offered by the schools generally easy to get into, or are there waitlists that could be risky to rely on? Is it reasonably priced? How late do kids stay typically? Any information or opinions are appreciated.

Does anyone know if there's any extended stay motels in town that could accommodate a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids ages 4-7). We live in a Tzadik property right now, we can't afford to move to another apartment at the moment but the bug problem here (roaches and bed bugs) is completely out of control. Came home today to a random garbage bag tied up in my driveway. Anyone else encounter this? There's nothing in it, but it was put there deliberately, since it was tied off to something.

Edit: The bag was tied off at the top of the driveway which is about 4 car lengths long. If they were just throwing it away, they'd have passed the garbage cans on the way to tie it off.

Closed out a couple months ago, workers said it was due to the emergency stop button having to be used cutting off fuel to the pumps. Anyone know if there are any plans for that location? It’s a pretty amazing spot. Honestly a Kwik Star would be pretty cool right there.

Does anyone else wish they didn't move in the neighborhood? I live in the area and idk if it's poor management or what but there is only one guy working the one of three tills, and two other clearly visible ppl counting cash/looking at products. The 3rd till is never open. Even when the line is 6 ppl deep. I just wish they'd get there shit together. It's the only gas station in town that makes me mad right when I walk in.

Looking for a good dentist in town that handles those of us with really bad anxiety well. I shake, my BP skyrockets and I know many check it, I’d love if someone didn’t. They don’t understand that it’s just temporary cause of the panic. If anyone can help I’d appreciate it. I have a toothache and my anxiety about it is killing me 😞

Was wondering if anyone had recommendation for landscaping. I have 6 trees that I was hoping someone can help me with mulching and edging around. I had someone come out today and quote 5,000$ which seems high. I was looking to spend about half that as it seems like a days work for three people. Anyone have any recommendations?
