"I have a friend" that is looking into getting their criminal record expunged.
The offense is a (I believe) class 1 misdemeanor - simple assault stemming from slapping a guy in the face in a bar, over five years ago.
It is preventing "my friend" from getting jobs despite the fact that it is the only thing on their record.
Wondering what the chances are that something can be done about this...
I prefer ones that have lots of traffic, especially for pheasant hunting season!
Bagging up Kraut for the year
Possible 11” of snow for Tuesday/Wednesday. Can the Black Hills have one Halloween without snow? I just want to decorate my damn house!
We want to spend at least a week hitting Badlands, Custer State Park, Wind Cave, Black Hills, and some Dinosaur areas. We will fly in and rent a car. My main two questions are: is there an ideal time of year to visit for this trip? And we love to splurge on fun, unique, luxury accommodation but I’ve been struggling to find options this trip. We normally rent a suite but it seems this isn’t very common in this state? Basically we want the kids to have a fun place to call home with great amenities and room to stretch out! Thank you for any advice in advance :)
Claims to help independent voters but in the end just hurts the voting process.. this is coming from an independent voter.. in the bill it states whoever is the top 2 voted for gets into the primaries. Knowing that South Dakota is majority Red. That just means every one you get to vote for will be republican. And nobody else atleast that is my understanding of the bill. If I’m wrong would love to hear some opinions.
I'm hoping there are some other Pokemon Go players in this subreddit!
I'm a part of one Discord for the Pierre area. Our group of 11 got a Gigantamax Venusaur down to around 33% yesterday, but we need a few more people to beat it. Are there any other PoGo players or groups in Pierre that would want to team up for these battles?
I'd also like to join any Discords for the Rapid City and Sioux Falls areas. I might be out in Rapid next weekend and would love to join in for Gengar.
I've searched around and found a few FB groups, but their activity is limited, and I figured there's no harm in posting here too.
I’m not from here,is this normal for this time of year in the Midwest?
How safe is it for a 28 y/o male puertorican to live in this state. Im a Rn in the VA hospital and there is some positions available to transfer in on Pine Ridge. What treatment should i expect? Im asking because my family says its dangerous for a hispanic puerrtorican
I dont follow politics or mess with other people. I stay to myself
I am from New York just outside of NYC and I am thinking about moving to Pierre to get a job working for the state. I am looking for insight on what exactly it is like to work for the state. I know that South Dakota is significantly different culterally from new york. Additionally if anyone lives in Pierre I am interest in talking to you to get an idea of what everything is like.
I'm from Minnesota. This was something we were taught but I see the incorrect way done a lot here. Is this not taught?
I'd say both sides are bad about this, but it's literally only Trumpers (and Mike Stevens) that feel obligated to do this around here. Leave your junk at home.

Just moved to Pierre and will have Sunday completely free. We are looking into leaving early and driving the Badlands loop before heading to the Black Hills and doing some tourist-y things. What is the best single-day plan for two adults + a two year old? We will be able to visit again in the spring, but we wanted to at least go once before the weather makes it tricky.
I have a 81 F150 and I would like to get historic plates for it, I know state code is that only drive it on special occasions such as displays, parades and exhibitions and you can't drive over 4,000 miles per year but I see people driving with at all times, can you be fined or get punished for breaking the rules on license plates if you own normal plates at the same time and just want the look of the old plates?
The spam texts I'm getting today. I'm not going to bother actually opening that one...
I recently became a green card holder but I still have my valid Canadian Ontario driver's license. I am in the process of learning about becoming a South Dakota resident. I did a lot of research and one of the last things I needed to figure out was if an Ontario driver's license would be accepted for the exchange to a South Dakota driver's license. I called the DPS Pierre center and was told I would have to take a written and road test! Is this true?
UPDATE: I also wrote in to South Dakota DPS Driver Licensing through their online contact form. They replied and said for Canadians all that is required is a vision test. So they gave me incorrect information over the phone! We will see what happens when I actually get there.
This is the amendment that allows open primary voting for all candidates with the top 2 going to the general election. Here are my pros and cons so far:

Overall, I guess I'm for it?? Does anybody know any other states that do voting this way?
Not sure where else to post this as there doesn't seem to be a subreddit that's more specific.
Does anyone here have any local to SD contacts for purchasing bees/bee nucs? Got into bee keeping last year but I'm finding it challenging to locate any SD bee suppliers.
Thanks!
I’ve been watching a lot of Hulu lately, and I can’t escape the endless flood of anti-Measure 29 ads. Seriously, it’s gotten out of hand. Every other commercial break, I’m hit with these over-the-top ads making wild claims that if this measure passes, somehow, kids are going to turn into meth addicts overnight just because weed might be legalized. It’s honestly kind of ridiculous how far they’re stretching it, and I can’t help but feel like they’re trying way too hard to scare people.
At this point, these ads are so annoying that I’m voting yes just out of spite (I was going to vote yes anyway). It’s like, come on, give us some credit to think for ourselves instead of trying to terrify people with these bizarre scenarios. Has anyone else been seeing these ads?
Just seen one on YouTube was laughing my ass off the entire time anyone who believes that crap is a straight mouth breather 💀🤣
It's up to us to vote every fascist out. This is it.
