Last year I gave 500 rs + gift to maid who does only cleaning of my 3BHK flat .She was happy.
This year she is demanding one months salary as bonus ( thats 1500/- as she does only brooming+ mopping). I gave her 1200/- as she helped with light dusting due to Diwali but I got the heavy duty cleaning done by UC and still she is sulking. While I dont want to under-value her, I have never heard that in Pune everyone gives one month salary as Diwali bonus to maids. That is what she is repeatedly saying this year. I checked with my neighbours and they have only been giving 50% salary extra as bonus. What i dont find acceptable is her sulking n banging the door as she left.

HELP! - WhatsApp Stock Market Scam

My father was added to a whatsapp group where the scammers manipulated him into putting in xx lakhs into their fraudulent schemes. They made him transfer that money in parts to a few different people. It then showed my dad has made a profit. When my dad asked for the money withdrawal, they asked him to submit xx lakh ( same as the original amount) again and then they will send him all his profit. He did not do it but we are still in loss of xx lakh . The WhatsApp group is still active and posting regularly. The transfer was made through online Banking from a debit account.

What can I do now ?

On 1st Nov there was a new hit and run case. A car came dashing on the footpath where people were bursting firecrackers. The car ran over a young man and didn’t even flinch for a second. The man died on the spot with his brain split. This incident happened near Felicity in Ravet area.

I know no one will do anything for this, police is corrupted and there is no value of life in this country. So this is just a rant.

I'm a fellow Indian from a Tier 1 Indian city who has traveled quite extensively across the country. So my expectations regarding cleanliness aren't out of tune with the Indian context.

But guys.. Pune (or Maharashtra? Idk it's my first time in the state) seems to have a MASSIVE issue with sanitation. I've been here for 2 weeks, and it's shocking. I've walked for 7 km stretches next to continuous piles of old garbage. I've been to the 'nicest' malls & private office buildings. Those are the places in any city one knows will be the most well kept. Yet shockingly, here the washrooms are too filthy to even wash hands in.

It seems like a nice city otherwise. But what is up with all the filth? Other cities have mismanaged landfills & littering. But at least the garbage gets collected from settlements. Commercial establishments make sure their restrooms aren't repulsive & have an attendant. It feels like a public health bomb waiting to explode. It's giving (insert a notorious Indian city I don't want to name at the risk of sounding racist towards them)

Still shaken up. Til yesterday I thought Pune is a safe city for woman. But I F24 was attacked by mob like people living in Kubera Gulshan Society Aundh. Me and two of my male friends M25 were bursting firecrackers in wireless colony. Minding our own business.

A car Vitara with number MH14 LA9905 came. It was slow and we were about to move away but the driver purposely accelerated the car and swirled it around to the left with such a speed that our life flashed before our eyes and we thought this is the end for us. Thankfully we were able to move and were not hit but it was very close and we completely panicked. We were extremely scared.

The car went and parked inside the Kubera Gulshan Society. We went there to note down the number, ask them what was the reason for this since the car could have honked, stopped or simply could pass in its own lane since we were not even in the lane. 3-4 boys were there in the car, we asked who was the driver and asked him to come to the police station and we wanted to file a formal complaint. He laughed. he was constantly smiling. He wouldn’t even talk to us and talked to his friend saying "Tapkir, I came here because you asked me to, now you sort this out" The friend he was talking to was the resident of that society. He tried to ask us to leave but we said we do not want to talk to you since you were not driving but we want to file a police complaint of the person who was driving.

He called his parents. His mother came downstairs and started asking us what happened calmly. so, I tried to explain her calmly what exactly happened thinking at least this woman is sane. I was completely wrong.

Her husband came, completely drunk. Instead of mediating or trying to understand the situation, his first sentence was "Kadh re gadi, Udavto tula, Kay karshil tu? (Start the car, I will run over you, what will you do?)"

After hearing this I was extremely scared so I took the phone and started recording what he will say further, His wife saw that and started attacking me and started snatching the phone.

These people called many other boys who all seemed 18-19 at most. At the end there were 15 to 17 people against us 2. One of our friends just froze. They started ganging up on us, started talking in disgusting language and verbally abused us. Telling us to go back to our place etc even though we are localities and talked in pure Marathi. They started beating on us and we defended ourselves as best as we can against 15 people. They attacked me, especially the lady, tried to hit me, pull my hair, snatch the phone away as I was trying to record her drunk husband. They even deleted the videos but they were saved in recycle bin so we could recover. They were not even ready to give the phone back. We had to argue and argue to get the phone back as well.

While they went, one of the boys came to us and said "These are bad people, what has happened with you is bad, that is why I did not partake, I am sorry, is possible let it go and don’t file a police complaint." We asked him that if he can convey the message that we want a formal apology right now from the driver, His friends and his mother and father then we will let it go otherwise we are filing an FIR. He said he doesn’t want to get involved and went.

We went to Chaturshringi police station and filed an FIR against the driver and his friends and his parents.

The car is registered on the name Shila Alok Kamate.

Thankfully we have all the videos and will edit this post and add the link once we compile and share the videos on other platforms.

Yesterday I was heading back after celebrating Diwali. I boarded bus no. 290 (Jambhulwadi to Swargate) and while the bus got on the road towards katraj from datta nagar few people who were on the edge of the road threw crackers into the bus through the entry gate (back gate) and windows adjacent to it. one cone literally straight landed under two passenger's legs but luckily the conductor and other passengers came in rescue and by suppressing them under their foot (I guess one of those passenger got slight burn) . and another lucky thing was a sutali bomb had bounded with the door frame and didn't got in the bus. soon the both doors and all windows were closed.

Thankfully no passenger got hurt I was sitting just 2 seats ahead of this chaos.
