I regret purchasing the HP 1188 fnw laser printer, as it has turned out to be a complete disappointment. The printer itself seems to be a manufacturing defect.
One of the most shocking discoveries was the exorbitant printing cost of the HP Laser printer. At INR 3.4 per page, it’s nearly 10 times higher compared with their laser tank printers, which cost just INR 0.34 per page. This outrageous expense makes the printer highly uneconomical for regular or even occasional use.
Despite being marketed as a laser printer, it fails to provide any cost efficiency. HP clearly needs to re-evaluate this product and address its major flaws. The printer is a waste of money.
If you’re looking for an affordable and reliable option, I suggest considering other brands that offer genuine cost savings and better performance. Avoid this printer at all costs.
I’m extremely new to this… I have no idea what I’m doing, so I was hoping I could get some real people answers and avoid Google. I need a small-ish, cheap-ish printer that can connect to my iPhone and print content from my Apple Notes app. Preferably big enough pages to put into a binder, but I can work with anything. TYIA :)
I also don’t care if it’s colored, I literally just need the information on paper as it is in my phone
Edit: I do also own an iPad mini that I can use, if that helps anything, but don’t own a MacBook
Model is HL-L323CDW, bought second hand after hearing good stuff about brothers here.
Unless I've missed something or perhaps I got a faulty item, it doesn't have the feature to tell me which toner is out, like any normal printer that I've come across. However, this tiny screen is capable of selecting wifi and inputting a password, impressive. To check toner levels I'm forced to use a computer.
Second thing I noticed is the printer refuses to print black and white when another color is out... Makes zero sense.
So as the title says my stupid Pixma is acting strange, I refilled the toners with new ink because those little things are very expensive in my country, after that it just won't let me print, I have the orange lights on on the BK. and CL slot, when I try to print something I only get an empty page, so in general it doesn't let me do anything.
Fun fact: when the toners were new (not refilled), they worked mostly fine until, oh oh, there was no ink, now I'm about to throw it in the trash.
I recently bought a Canon printer TS8750 and I bought refill canon Pixma ink cartridges for 70 pounds (88 dollars).
I input the cyan cartridge and it says I got Error code 1750
I am confused as to why it is incompatible it fits into the printer and everything
This is the pack I got. (which I now see online is way cheaper than in the print shop sigh)
What do I do, is this an error with my computer? or did I get something wrong, is there a way to fix it or get around this?
Im so frustrated with printers these days.
I always feel like im being tricked
Hey everyone, I'm doing a diy Christmas photobooth this year and I'm looking for a printer I can use that isn't a dnp since that's too expensive.
Is my best bet Canon Selphy? I have a home inkjet printer that is cmyk (Canon TS5100) should I just stick with that too? Do you guys have any recommendations that is under $100 and prints atleast 4"×6"?
Epson SC T7270D
Just relocated to a new office, have not had this problem in the past
3 people are unable to connect to the printer (2 macs, one PC all on wifi), 1 person connected and can print with no issues at all (PC used same wifi)
Internet IT says the printer is connected to the network and its not an issue on their end
Printer does not show up in EpsonNet Config. I updated the firmware today. Will try a new ethernet cable tomorrow
Please share any troubleshooting ideas you may have thanks!
Canon costs $250 (3yr warranty), whereas Epson Renewed is like half the price with 1yr return policy on Amazon. I am replacing a Canon InkJet which I got for free and it lasted me 7 years, and third party cartridges were super cheap. Always got a sets of 3-4 (~$35) and they lasted me a year or two even with minimal print.
I print sparingly, maybe around 20-50 color pages per year. Everyone here keeps recommending laser printer which is why I am considering the canon. However, latest feedback is that third party toners don't work great on this one or if they work, they do so for like 100-200 pages. Don't care about print quality as much. I don't want to pay 350+ for original toners. OTOH, Epson needs a print every week or two to prevent the print heads from clogging. But ink is dirt cheap and yield is quite high on these ecotank models.
Does it make sense to get the Canon given my usage? or should I just get the Epson and save $100+?
Hey, what printer can I get that can print on optical discs (CD/DVD/BD) that also has a scanner (I will be using it as the main home printer)? I'm in Eastern Europe and I'm definitely okay with second hand stuff
Hello,
I’m looking for a printer that has good quality.
Mainly I will be printing 4x6 but I do want the option for larger photos
Any recommendations on a printer? I have been reading reviews and everything has been overwhelming. Thanks in advance
Hello! I am in desperate need of help.
I have been running a small business for the last few months, where I make earrings and pins out of shrink plastic. I currently use an Epson ET-2850 and have been printing on shrink plastic for months now with rarely any issues at all. I use the glossy photo paper setting, and generally everything has always printed amazingly. However, all of a sudden my prints started coming out as super smudged, blurry, and unusable. I have used now three different packs of shrink plastic, I keep buying more hoping it was the plastic. I also warrantied my printer, after the different shrink plastic still wasn't working, and the new printer I got is having the same issue. I am at a complete loss, I have 0 idea what is causing this since it is just an overnight issue with nothing that has changed. Two different ET-2850s have the same issue, and three packs of shrink plastic have been having the same results. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached two photos, one of how it normally looks when printed, and one that is how it is currently printing.
This is how my designs normally look when printed.
This is how my designs are coming out now, with the same exact settings as I use on the above image.
I have a Brother HL2280-DW laser printer suddenly won't feed from the main tray. I can still feed it with the single sheet method and prints fine. It also DOES use the print tray when doing a Scan/Copy function, printing a settings list report, or test page.
The problem is when sending a print job to the printer, you see the "Receiving Data" message, but then just just reports "Manual Feed, Load Paper". I've checked the internal tray loading lever mechanism, and it's OK. Nothing appears to be broken. I'm using the latest printer driver, V.1.10.00.
I've had this printer for 12 years, and it's been a good and reliable printer. I'd hate to turn this into e-waste.
My decent epson printer died and I bought a canon printer from walmart. It was the cheapest possible one. I never had a problem with the epson but now when I try to print from my samsung s23 it constantly says "this pdf is password protected" I have never put in a password and I've googled how to fix and have got nowhere. How can I access this password and remove or change it. Thank you
Hello I have a Brother MFC 8480DN and I get a No Paper Error, and I am fairly certain it is due to a broken Feeder Cam Lever after watching a youtube video (white tab to the left of the paper tray is loose and easily movable). The replacement part LY2579001 is compatable with
Brother DCP7055 DCP7057 DCP7060 DCP7065 DCP7070 HL2130 HL2220 HL2240 HL2250 HL2270 HL2280 MFC7360 MFC7365 MFC7460 MFC7470 MFC7860
but I see nothing about that part for an 8480DN...does anyone know if this part will work in the 8480?
Does anyone know why my scan from a ScanSnap ix1600 (the scan in color or black and white) prints to my Brother HL-L2460DW Wireless Compact Monochrome Laser Printer (with Duplex, Mobile Printing, Black & White Output) with all of this pixelation? Any advice on how to not have this happen?
Printing a word document dos not cause this pixelation. It is the scans that print with this background.
Thanks for any thoughts you are willing to share.

Edit: I've solved it by using the Windows 10 driver from the page that a couple of people pointed me to, which WORKED even though the driver from a CD didn't! I am so grateful for the help, and so happy! :-)
HP have a page for it, but no actual drivers, just a 'Print and Scan Doctor' which sends you to the page with no drivers.
Windows doesn't have a driver for it.
I found old pages referring to drivers, but none of them still have the driver.
just purchased ET-8550, want to print door hangers on paper with density around 300gsm. Could not find any sellers online offering blank, perforated cardstock. Any suggestions?
I've got a teacher I'm buying a laser printer for. She prints a lot and currently has an ink subscription service so she never has to go look for ink and never running out at 11pm.
I'd like to stay around $200 but if the value at $250 is worth it I can make that happen. I've heard really good things about brother and honestly would like to avoid HP
Thanks for the help
Preferences: duplex, color and scanning if possible.
I use epson 24XL cartridges, none of them is original and the resetter i see on aliexpress or elsewhere tells that it reset only official cartridges. Did anyone tried resetting third party cartridges ?
Bonus question, i ordered arc fitted cartridges without knowing exactly how they works and i wonder if the resetter would work on them too.
The plan is to change/reset cartridges before they it 0 so the printer doesn't spend half of the other cartridges in the waste pad sponge. Thanks
Does anybody have a copy of the windows drivers for the M205fw that they downloaded before FujiXerox decided to remove them from their website. I can understand not supporting an old printer any longer. No one expects them to keep producing new drivers for an old printer, however it isn't unreasonable to expect to still get the drivers. Amazing you can still buy toner but no drivers available. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
