toner cartridge is stuck

How to get a stuck toner cartridge out of my printer??

I have a Brother HL-2390DW printer that I've been completely happy with for about 5 years. I bought too cheap of a toner cartridge. It went in, but didn't sit right, and now I can't get it out no matter how hard I tug.

I think there might be something defective with a green hinge on the cartridge that won't come down into the correct position. But I'm not 100% sure about that.

So my printer is ruined.

What can I do? I really need my printer.

I've written to the cartridge manufacturer, asking for a new printer, but they've ignored me. Thinking of writing again for someone to come to my home and repair, or else. Otherwise I'm considering suing them in small claims court.

I'd appreciate any advice on any of this, from getting the toner cartridge out one way or the other, or else forcing the toner cartridge company to make me whole. I'd appreciate any insights or advice. Thank you.

What inkjet color printer to get that doesn't print hot?

Hi, my printer broke and I'm looking to get a new one. I need something that doesn't print hot though. I have an inkjet that only does black ink and the paper comes out hot, so I can't use it for any heat transfer projects.

Separate question but can sublimation printers be used as regular printers or only for sublimation paper?

Need printer suggestion based on my usage - 10pages/day to 50 pages/day

I am looking out for a printer and am fairly new in the space. My requirement to print may vary, in the beginning I could foresee ~10 pages per day and later 6 months down the line to ~50-100 pages per day.

I have read there are pros and cons of laser vs tank, I'm a bit confused right now. Please suggest on the type and specific model of the type. Budget is entry level.

Must Have: Scanner Good to have: colour printing

Thanks in advance!

KYOCERA P3045dn - Ghosting

Got an old KYOCERA ecosys P3045dn printer from work, they'd upgraded all the warehouse printers and was going to bin it.

Use it for my WFH printer, printing off emails or other docs I want a hard copy of. Worked fine(ish) for what i needed it to do.

has recently developed a major ghosting issues (see pic). started when some paper got jammed. I had to "pull it apart" to get the jammed paper out. when i finished what i was printing a small piece of paper came out with the pages.. it look like an old piece of carbon paper. I assumed it has been stuck in there for a while. I also thought it may have been due to the low toner, so got new toner and swapped out the waste jug. it was still happening.

Pulled the printer apart (where it would let me) and gave everything a wipe and clean

Two-sided printing not automatic

I bought this printer (Epson ET-2850) specifically for the fact it could print 8.5 X 14, it could print auto-two-sided on cardstock - 65 lb cover stock.

I am feeding from the rear feeder. When asking to print, I select the proper size, say it is 2-sided and print. It prints out the one side and the paper does not get pulled in the print the other side.

I have the latest drivers. I'm on a Mac with Sonoma 14.1.1 O/S

Am I missing something here?

Best printer for 300gsm linen cardstock?

Greeting card maker in the U.K. I print watercolor cards with black wording mainly. Use linen textured cardstock. In an ideal world I’d love a laser to prevent ink smudging, and be able to print on lustre/shimmer cardstock. Can’t seem to find any information at all on which are suitable? Currently printing on a canon pixma. Print around 100 cards a week currently. Thanks in advance!

Looking for an all-in-one black and white printer!

My mom finally agreed to replace our old WorkCentre 3045, which has been pain in the ass! She's looking for a black-and-white printer , a compact laser printer would be the best and most affordable option. It should be an all-in-one model and preferably WIFI printing capabilities. The budget is around €100, though we could stretch it a bit if it's really worth it. Ideally, though, we’d like to keep it close to €100.

Printing too dark

Problem: My computer is printing images darker than they are.

Printer: Toshiba e-STUDIO6506AC

Computer: 2023 MacBook Pro

What I know: It's not a monitor issue. When I send the photo to any other computer and print it from there, it both shows up correctly and prints correctly. Have tried this with three different computers and they all print that same photo perfectly. One thing to note is all those other computers are PC, while the one that doesn't print correctly is Mac.

Potential solutions?: From the research I've done, here's the next steps I'd start looking at if I had the knowledge.

  1. Maybe the Mac is missing a driver for the printer? I found a list of the drivers for that printer on the Toshiba website, but I have no idea which one (if any) I should try to download in an attempt to fix this.
  2. Maybe it has something to do with ColorSync Utility. I tried looking through there myself, and after fixing some error messages (which didn't solve the problem), nothing else sticks out to me as being off. But to be frank that application isn't very clear to my non-technically trained mind.

Does anyone have any ideas what the solution might be? Thanks!

Printer is missing a small part - how would I go about finding a replacement?

#What's going on?

About two years ago a small piece of my printer fell out. Things were hectic at the time so I ignored it, as it didn't have a huge effect on printing. However, it does cause problems! Printed pages often come out dog eared, and two sided color prints (one sided color are fine, and two sided black and white are also fine) immediately jam the printer. Considering these problems started IMMEDIATELY after the part fell out, I'm confident replacing it would fix the problem. However, I have no idea how to go about this despite googling the issue several times. (Most of what I found was about replacing the entire fuser, at which point I'd seriously consider just getting a new printer.)

The part in question is a metal tooth in the rear of the printer, directly over the fuser roll. I've attached a photo below.

Certainly not the end of the world, but I print a lot of flyers and it can get annoying. I'm also worried pulling paper out of the jams may be damaging the fuser, as sometimes this requires me to manually spin it with my hands.

QuestionsAnswers
Printer model:Brother HL-L8360CDW
Print Frequency:A few times a week, but often decent sized jobs (50-100 sheets)
Firmware version:The latest update - I can provide this if needed but I doubt it is, as firmware won't replace a missing part.
Connection:USB
Current OS:Windows 10
# of Machines Tried:1
# of Users Tried:1
Applications Tried:1
Error Messages:Jam rear
Cartridges Used:3rd party

#What steps you have already tried?

  • Googled what the part was
  • Googled about fusers

Please help! My HP M281 is faded on the left side!

Hi, I got this printer from my aunt, because the belt ripped inside (still no idea how that happened), and transported it via Train back to my home. Whilst transporting it, I had it laying on it's right side, which was my first theory: The toner could have become empty-ish on one side, whilst the other side is fine.

Since I replaced the belt (not the assembly, rather just the belt itself, since it was cheaper), it is quite possible that I did something wrong, and now one side isn't installed correctly. Upon request I can remove the tray and send you all pictures. Some help would be awesome, especially since she kept this printer because it was something very special for her late husband, I wish to get this machine working again so it can have a new lease on life!

Thank you for your help!

Wide format printer shopping. Need advice from the pros

I’ve literally been looking for almost a year now for a decent wide format printer/plotter/cutter that has the capabilities of printing photos, posters, decals, graphics, banners etc.. I’m not going to be printing high volumes (unless something changes).

There’s just so much to have to consider and I‘m afraid of investing in equipment only to find out it doesn’t do what I need it to do and then you have the different inks like latex, eco solvent, dye etc.. that I need advice on.

Size of the printer isn't really an issue, cost I’d like to keep it between % and 10k if I can. This includes any other equipment I need like a laminator now or down the road. I am some what inclined to do the service my equipment.

if anyone has any good advice, I would like to hear it as a lot of people that’s been printer shopping. Once they find what they need, you really never hear from them again.

i appreciate any advice.

Need to find replacement for OKI Microline 182 printers

We have been using OKI Microline 182 9 pin printers in our business's for years. Just went to order some for backup and found that they are no more. We use these for 3 part NCR receipts and for form feed self adhesive inventory tags. Are there any tractor feed dot matrix printers on the market that are as reliable as these oki's have been.

Please find me a printer accessible in Australia.

Hi I’m trying to find a printer of reasonable price (~$150 or within reason). This printer must have Scanning, Photocopying and Printing. Either Colour + Black or White or Black and White only. Printing speed must be reasonably fast as I will be using this to print multiple ~10 page booklets. Must have a automatic double page printing. Must have Wifi printing connection also. Also preferably laser printer. Thanks for any responses. P.S. Please provide a model number.

My brother printer doesn’t show the WLAN setting

I want to set up my brother MFC-L2710DN to print through my WiFi network. But every walkthrough I’ve ever seen shows a setting that it doesn’t have. Apparently it’s meant to have a Wired LAN option - that doesn’t exist on my printer. It’s clearly meant to have it but it doesn’t. I tried finding an answer online and it doesn’t exist, or at least is unfindable. Does anyone know about this or how to help?

Compatible ink refills for the Canon PIXMA Pro 200?

I run a greeting card business and have been worrying about running low on ink. On the Canon website they only sell the cartridges individually and don't even have everything I need available for purchase because it's on back order. I saw a company named Alton on Amazon that sells the ink I need, but would it be safe and compatible to use in the Canon PIXMA Pro 200?

Thank you!

High Quality Compatible Toner?

Has anyone used a high quality non-oem toner you would recommend? I have an Ecosys M6630cidn that we use for several thousand color prints per month. Ecosys toner is ridiculously expensive. I have to replace the color toners every couple months, $300 for the color set.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a compatible color toner? This printer is pricey and I do not want to do anything to mess it up. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

HP LaserJet P1006 on MacOS Sequoia

I've got an HP LaserJet P1006 (first released ~20 years ago) and have confirmed that I can get cartridges for it. I'm pretty technically capable, but printers is not really my wheelhouse.

Poking around a bit, it seems like it should be possible to find a driver that would work for it through CUPS, which also seems accessible on Sequoia. But I could use some guidance on how to connect the two.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to o to find such a guide?
