No drivers for HP LaserJet P1102 on MacOs 15.01

Just bought a new macbook, and I am not able to print. Is there any workaround so that I don't have to throw away this perfectly good printer?

Is my printer scanner dead ? it's an HP Envy 7830

https://preview.redd.it/iawz1itnaqge1.jpg?width=2544&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7989a5d01f2191f053811c9ced8bd64fa8a534cc

I get this kind of output whenever I try to scan something ... (and yes, there was an actual white page with text on it in the printer when I launched the scan).
First I had a few "green" lines appearing, now it's covering the full page.
Printing is working properly.
Thank you for your help !

Canon Pixma TR45705, which cartridge?

Hi,

we bought a Canon PIXMA TR45705 printer when we were stationed in Sri Lanka. We took it with us when we moved back to Germany and now find us in the more or less usual situation where we have to find a compatible replacement ink cartridge for the printer.

It came with a PG 745 cartridge. According to the internet the TR45 series of printers run on the PG 245 (black) cartridges. Other sources (shops) told us we'll be fine with the PG 545 cartridges (one worked, the new one does not).

At the moment we are at a complete loss as to what to do next.

Which ink cartridge would be correct for the printer? Does anyone here have experience with this model?

Thanks!

Brother MFC & HL missing colors

We have had our two brother mfc-l8900cdw and hl-l8660cdw since 2020 we have about 30k prints on each and the mfc has stopped printing red, the hl has stopped printing red and blue. We have changed the toner, and switched the drum units with a third mfc that we had at home that still prints all the colors. The one at home is running the original firmware the two with the issues were updated a month ago to the July 2024 firmware. I have tried to slide the green things side to side several times, and I used a micro fiber cloth to clean the drums. We have 1 blue and 1 red original brother cartridge the others are LD and onlyu brands.

Any one have any links to the older firmware or would it be possible to clone it from the other mfc?

HP Deskjet 2720e not printing

I have an HP 2720e printer that no longer prints.

I replaced the original cartridges with other original cartridges a few months ago, then I did a test print and everything worked.

I turned the printer back on after months to print some things but nothing prints anymore, a white sheet comes out.

The printer tells me that the cartridges are full, I also tried removing them and inserting them again but nothing.

There is no malfunction indicator light on or flashing, blank sheets simply come out.

I tried cleaning the print heads as indicated in the manual but the same problem remains.

What could be the reason? How can I solve it?

Thank you

Printer for my elderly mom…

I am reallly struggling to find something that meets these criteria - can anyone recommend?

Either a color printer only (no other copy scan function etc) OR if it’s an all in one one where the controls are buttons not a tiny screen control

A - she doesn’t want one of those little screens. A no small screen printer. She can’t read the tiny font and she keeps pressing wrong buttons

B- front load for paper so she doesn’t have to hurt her back reaching around to the back of the printer to add paper.

C- easy to use. Plug it into her Mac computer via USB or other standard cord. No wireless complications. If it’s multifunction just easy buttons to push.

Her current printer has a tiny screen she can’t read and when she accidentally ends up putting it in scan or copy mode she can’t get it to print anymore.

Also a reliable brand. In other words not HP.

Any ideas or suggestions? Im kinda shocked there are no printers specifically designed for seniors to be intuitive, with large print and or buttons.

PS thank you for the help!!!!

Recommendation for restaurant printer

Good Evening,

We print a lot for specials menus....like 16,000 pages a year (according to my brother printer). We have a brother multi-function laser printer that was about $600. It does a pretty nice job on standard paper but with the drum down to 12% life, it might explain why text is blurring and messy looking. We'd like to either get a new drum (easy on Amazon) or get a new printer for printing flyers and menus and whatnot.

Reliability is huge for us.

Requirements-

  1. ethernet connection
  2. color
  3. Accepts 8.5x14 (more is better).

Looked at the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 All-in-One Wide-format Supertank Printer but the reviews showed a lot of reliability issues. The brother has been fine until recently with stuff bleeding all over....maybe that's the drum though and I'm guessing images would be better if we used better paper.

Offnova Thermal Printer Help

I’ve got an OFFNOVA 6140 that has been printing reliably for years but I got a new laptop today and traded in the old one. Installing the driver on the new laptop is impossible. It just says “installing the printer driver” forever. I’ve tried downloading the driver installer from the Offnova website but the same thing keeps happening. Any help would be appreciated!

HP M451dn, Cartridge People test page, red and pink look almost the same

I've had an HP M451dn color laser printer for about 10 years and have generally been very happy with it. Certainly far more so than the demon-possessed Konica-Minolta 1600W it replaced.

Today I replaced three of the cartridges. They are all from LD Products, and the one that I did not replace, yellow, is also LD Products.

After repacing them, I did the test print from CartridgePeople.com. I haven't used that test page before today.

It mostly looked great. But comparing it to the image on the screen, I saw that where the screen showed a clear distinction between red and pink (M vs. M/Y), the two are barely distinguishable on the printout.

The test print shows this in two ways. First, stripes along the right side and top, from the outside in, they are yellow, green, blue, darker blue, pink, red, black. On the printout, I see no difference between the pink and red stripes.

Second, a table of rectangles. The top horizontal row is black to gray. The second row is red (M/Y), and the third row is magenta. I can barely see any difference between them. The magenta is ever so slightly more on the pink side, but the difference is extremely subtle.

The other colors--yellow, green, light blue, dark blue--are all strong and distinct from each other.

Is this expected for this printer? From the discussion on the web page the test page came from, it seems to be more for high end photo-quality inkjets. If this is an expected limitation of color lasers, I'm fine with that.

Here's the Cartrige People web page where the test printout page is downloaded from:

Dell V515w intermittently prints with black ink, color works fine, but the printhead is fine too?

Went to go print out some amazon return labels a few weeks ago and my printer was just coming out blank. I then thought maybe the black ink cartidge was low/bad since i haven't used it in a while. And that didn't work. So I did a deep clean of the print head and only the colors showed up, no black ink. Since this is aftermarket black ink I got, I though maybe I just got a junk one, so I replaced it, did another deep clean, and again no black ink. So after quick googling I tried aligning it, doing a regular clean of the print head, and also trying another brand new aftermarket black ink cartidge, andddd nothing. Finally I took out the printhead itself and soaked it in 91% isopropyl alcohol and also put it in my ultrasonic cleaner for 30 mins two separate times. After I blew it out and popped it back into the print and did a test print, a bit of black ink came out but it didn't follow through the entirety of the page. So I tried to print another test page after that, but then there was no black ink again. I tried a different black ink cartridge and the test page showed some black but not all of it and the next test print page after that, there was no black ink again. So I tried another brand new cartridge's and still printed somewhat okay at first, then nothing the second test print. Mind you the colors are printing perfectly at this point with no problem. So at this point I order a new printhead and think that will solve my problems......nope! It printed perfectly the first page, with the new print head and with the black ink cartridges I had, but go to print another page, then it'll somewhat print things, but by the third print, it went back to printing absolutely no black ink!! So I soak this brand new print head over night in isopropyl alchol and give it another 2 30 min ultrasonic cleanings and it printes beautifully. I go to test another page and it prints it 99% okay while leaving some horizontal lines that I have been seeing this whole time beforehand whenever something doing actually print out on the page in black ink. On the third print, it only printed about a sixth of the page, and on the fourth, there was nothing. I am at a loss, I feel like it is the printhead but even with a brand new one it is still behaving the same way. I thought perhaps it was the aftermarket ink cartridge's even if they are brand new?? But in the end I tried about 6 different black ink cartridge's that will only print a partial page before not printing anything the page after that. Not to mention the color ink catrisgeds from the same aftermarktet ink manufactuerer has no problems!!! So I kinda wanna say it might be something mechanical that I am just not aware of since this is the first time I've delved into the world of printers and how they work. I cleaned the print head contacts, changed the printhead, ultra cleaned the print head, tried multiple cartridge's, and nothing works. But before all this, about a couple months ago it was working with no problems!! I dont understand, perhaps someone has some insight that I seem to lack, just hope this printer isnt junk since I took it out of the box brand new for the first time last year.

A couple issues on a Ricoh SP C261SFNw that I discovered for scanning to a network folder

So just a hunch on these for troubleshooting, and I'm putting it out there on the internet in case anyone else tries googling for a fix, but this printer has been a bitch and a half to keep running. I should have replaced it long ago but I'm stuck with full toner tanks until that day can arrive. My next printer will not be a Ricoh no matter the deal on price. Anyway...

Issue #1: I think they programmed their web UI to feed in asterisks for the password when doing a connection test.

Because spamming that button will always fail to connect to my network share, unless I type the password in fresh and then hit the Connection Test button, then I get a successful test

Issue #2: I had to remove a couple scan destinations that I wasn't using just to use the one I wanted.

I was getting 'Server Response Error' on the printer display trying to do a scan to my network share. Naturally I thought this was referring to my file server. I had a suspicion it was actually having trouble checking something it wasn't supposed to, like the POP3 servers on other scan destinations I wasn't trying to use. Sure enough I removed those Email scan destinations and the error went away.

I dunno if this has any relevance to you guys in this moment, but if this saves someone else in the future from taking a baseball bat to their Ricoh then... wait a minute, maybe I should have just let them.

Whats the point people have with ink printers?

Im confused.
I wanna buy a new printer.
People all over the internet say go for laser, ink is shit and will dry out fast.
Meanwhile my 50€ HP Printer with ink cartridges bought in 2023, printed 10-20 pages in 2024 and in february 2025 nothing is dry in there.
Am i just lucky or are people over exaggerating the ''drying out'' part?

HP LaserJet Pro M475 Printing Lightly

Hi everyone. Curious if there are solutions out there for this. I am using non-hp ink but have used it before with no problems. I recently changed the black cartidge and all 4 are 75 to 90% full.

It is printing photos and some documents "lightly" if that makes sense. I assumed the black was the trouble but a new cartridge had no change. I ran a calibration twice and no change. It doesn't seem to be an alignment issue and the quality is otherwise fine.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Printer Recommendations

Hello - I’m trying to help out a family friend with printer recommendations for their small business. Open to varying price ranges if you could share “mid” vs “high” end - not sure if that’s the right terminology as I totally understand - you get what you pay for!

Printer will be used with GIS support module. Would like to exceed the requirements below.

Needs: Two (2) Large format (E size) network capable plotters. Plotters must be capable of printing 1 ANSI D-sized map in 30 seconds or less on average and must be enabled to print from memory queue

Thank you again for your help!

Worried about getting ink for an older printer

I got an Epson CX4450 for free from a family member. It takes Epson 88 ink but it seems to be hard to find and it seems like it’s been discontinued with limited supply left. Im worried about spending $50 on ink that might be old and not work. Is it risky to buy old ink?
