Random question but does anyone know anywhere in Oxford that stocks buzz ball cocktails? Preferably near the city centre
Thanks!
Has anyone noticed there's a sudden mushrooming of beggars around the city centre? A bit taken aback by the number of people begging on the streets since this week
How are people feeling? What’s the drama? Why is traffic so bad? Doesn’t everyone walk and bike and bud everywhere? What are the pubs to flock to and to avoid? How’s Oxford United been? Are people happy here? I hear road construction is bad. What’s the stink with low traffic neighborhoods? Does the city get along with the Uni?
Coming from Chicago, US where there is a lot of local pride but tons of daily drama.
Hi All,
My partner has just found what she thinks is a girl's iPhone around the North Oxford area. She tried the 'Siri, call mum', 'Siri, call Dad' tricks but no such luck. If you/your daughter has lost their iPhone, my partner is on her way to drop it off at St Aldate's police station. We weren't sure what else to do.
Update: Looks like the owner's mother called it and they've arranged a drop-off. All sorted
Hey all.
I've been in oxford for a few months now and have not really had time to socialise until now. Are there any poc queer friendly spots/events in oxford to hang around in?
I need to store my bike in Blackbird Leys tomorrow for some work. Does anyone know of a relatively secure/visible bike rack where I can lock it up?
I’m a student who is leaving for home (US) this weekend and hoping to get some souvenirs I can bring home for Christmas presents. All of the Harry Potter souvenir shops seem so cheesy and cheap. Any recommendations for better spots to look?
I'm spending the day in London this week and ideally want to park up my e-bike mid morning and then use is to get home around midnight. Couple of questions for those who have done so before, what's the likelihood of finding a free spot at around 10am? And are the racks relatively safe in that area within the station grounds?
I mean decades ago.
Just wondering if anyone knows a good place to buy used mopeds or if anyone is wondering about selling them! My budget is between £700-£1000 before insurance anyone got any ideas?
Hi, I'm new to the area. After the flooding last week, my cellar is still full of ground water. I've been told that these Victorian houses were designed to allow water flow through naturally this way. Question is: when will the water clear out? Days? Weeks? Months? One month ago when I went for a viewing the water was definitely not there.
A volunteer-run, established digital publication - is looking for reviewers between the age of 20-40 to attend shows, and write reviews following the show. No experience writing reviews is required as we're looking to provide accessible reflections to others within this age demographic. Good English is a must but we're not writing essays - reviews are usually 400-600 words and we do provide a star rating. The main T & C is that reviews must be submitted to the editor for review within 36 hrs - we aim to publish all reviews within 48hrs to provide theatres/productions with ample time to use our reviews in promotion. All shows would be comped - usually 1 ticket, sometimes we're lucky and you can have a second for a friend. Reliability is a must but we understand sometimes things happen and all we ask is communication with the Editor in these instances. If you are interested please drop me a message.
FTBer, house purchase just fell through in Bodicote, which may be a blessing in disguise as the longer I house share in Banbury, the less I like it. Constant traffic especially Hennef way/M40 roundabout, very run down town centre with drunks sat outside all day etc.
So I'm considering elsewhere. I don't have Oxford money, but this seems like the right subreddit to ask. Looking for a 2-3 bed, must have a garage (which limits my options).
Looking for:
Relatively low crime rate
No horrendous traffic
Good road networks for travel to nearby towns/cities
Reasonable amount of things to do for a 30 something male (hobbies include MTBing, motorbiking)
Nightlife doesn't matter too much. I can just travel for a nightclub town/city, but the odd bar/restaurant would be nice
Top of the list is Bicester but I feel people who live in Oxford look down their noses at it, but everyone else I've asked say its leaps and bounds better than Banbury. I wouldn't rule out some of the more obscure, smaller villages either. However houses won't come up for sale as often in those areas obviously.
Thanks
There were two of them playing together around 2pm. Who were they, what are their socials, what songs were they playing, and how often do they perform?
Requirements are about £20pp, halal, city centre.
Most of us aren’t very local so not sure… where would you suggest? :) TIA
I have a white jumper from japan thats covered in road dirt from cycling and Ive tried 15 different methods to clean it and nothing is working. Are there any cleaners I could take it to here that might be able to sort this out?
I appreciate it might be jusy done for but I will try anything. Its happened before and a Vanish spray thing usually makes it pristine but this time it hasnt helped in the slightest.
Need something cheap but also reliable and sturdy enough to survive multiple trips.
I am looking for a garage or dry, covered space in Begbroke in which to keep my classic car during winter. I would need occasional access. Can anyone help please?
im an ole miss fan and im trying to hit the game dm me,
Hotty Toddy!
Only one I see is in Horspath (anyone been? What is the fee/time if you dont join athletic club? and how busy is it usually?), but that is a bit too far from where I live. Wondering if there is any north of Oxford (or even Kidlington-ish).
Anyone know why there was so much police activity on Magdalen Street last night?
Police cars at the entrance of the student castle. Does anyone know what's going on there?
I'm looking for a tattoo artist who's work is similar to Aruba Blur's (Helen Courtenage). Anyone got any suggestions?
The handful of times I've used Freeflow on the bus, I have not remembered to tap off a single time. I just want to know if this is a common problem or if it's a "me" problem?
Hello! I've got some relatives visiting this weekend. We were planning to walk up Port Meadow from Jericho for a drink at the Perch.
Does anyone know how flooded it is? Is it possible to walk up still? Thanks in advance.
