Hi! Just looking to see if anyone has recommendations for the above, I’m bringing a party of 6 people for a celebration, and wanted some local input. Ideally somewhere that we can have a good corner, or separate room for a lunch! Thank you in advance 😊
Would anyone know of any shops that have ceiling decoration's for sale?
Need to update some of mine and they are hard to come by.
I really enjoyed the fireworks tonight. However, just wanted to check if the last part with a big explosion was really part of it 😂
I'll preface this by saying I'm not in Oxford Uni so I don't think I have access to any of their libraries/areas. I'm hoping to find some studying spaces for tomorrow and apparently Westgate Library is closed. I'd rather not use a café since I want to spend a fair few hours working and not need to order stuff to justify being there. If anyone has any suggestions that would be appreciated! Could be any area as long as it serves the function.

Hi Oxford, do you know a good beauty center/clinics for Laser hair removal ?
Hi, I’m an undergraduate student and a post doc researcher from Oxford offered me to stay 3 months in her lab. The only problem is that she can’t give me financial aid for the stay. Does anyone knows what international scholarships or foundations can help me to cover all.
Btw, I’m from Mexico and I’m an undergraduate student. Some scholarships are only for postdoc, PhD students or even graduate students. And if this helps, I will be working on the neurobiology field (Parkinson’s disease)
Hello! I was hoping someone can help me. I'm happy to travel in and around Oxfordshire (hope it's allowed to post).
I'm looking to do some DIY projects that involve upholstery, curtains etc. But I can't seem to find a decent shop to buy fabric. I'd like choice etc a good old fashioned big haberdashery.
Thanks in advance!
Hi guys. I was looking for advice on places to visit around Oxfordshire and even further. I have been in UK for 5 years and always worked full time and studied full time so I never had much time to visit the surroundings. Now that I completed my studies I have time and would like some advice. I like to visit museums, nice cafes, expositions, spas, random activities, restaurants , or even just going to a random city to visit as long as it’s not over 1h30 driving. I have been to bath few times and I like to go to the therms and visited one or 2 cities around but that’s pretty much what I have done. Does anyone have suggestions ? TIA
Hey, for everyone that awhile ago was talking about bad letting agents, and others were asking for recommendations, Hutton Parker is deleting their bad reviews and making fake reviews giving themselves 5 stars, be aware of them. If you go to other review websites you will see how bad they are. They are the worst, do not be fooled by them.
Can hear live music in the OX4 area. Any clues?
Magdalen Street or Magdalen Road?! Which is it?
[only respond if you actually know pleaseX]
Anyone know where I can get some? I used to have a decent supply (http://wilkinscider.com/ an incredible website for those interested) what with getting kicked home after every term, but now I'm here all year I don't really fancy carrying a load on the train. I've investigated the local situation but it all seems to be "craft cider", not the sort of stuff that will burn through concrete. If home's anything to go by the good stuff won't be easy to find online - so, anyone got any recommendations?
Thanks!
(Before anyone mentions, I know I can get delivery from my home guy, but Roger will only pick up if you catch him while he's having lunch and he won't answer on weekends. Bit of a challenge for me!)
Me and the boyfriend are moving on from our bubble tea addiction to look for the best hot chocolate in Oxford as winter is approaching. Anyone got any good recommendations?
Would anyone be selling two tickets to tomorrow’s event? Much appreciated if so :)
I have no interest in the truth, but what legendary story have you heard about Oxford?
I heard it’s possible to traverse an underground river from Frideswide to Christ Church and it was once achieved by Lawrence of Arabia (of Jericho)…
In contemporary times I also heard a story about a doubles-for-singles rum & Ting at Hi-Lo but I can’t commit it to print…
…you?
Hello :). My partner is coming to visit me for two weeks starting the 15th December (so through Christmas) and I'd like to make sure he has a good time and that we are occupied with fun things. What would be some suggestions of outings during the Christmas season?
I'm hoping to get tickets for the carols at Christ Church for Christmas eve. We have found a few pub quizzes/open mics to check out during the week, and we will make sure to visit Blenheim Palace for the market. Any other ideas?
Hi everyone, Just what the title says. I'm a student here and have some free time in my schedule to spend doing something worthwhile. Would welcome any suggestions, thanks!
Anyone know a pub / bar based venue near Oxford main station that's good for big groups? Must have good food and non-alcoholic options!
Where will I find the best cinnamon rolls in Oxford? All recs welcome!
My partner and I both work at the University and are keen on buying our first home. We are yet to start actively looking at the properties because we are yet to finalise the location.
We are looking for 2-3 bed homes (roughly around 350-370k) somewhere close to Oxford as we cannot afford anything nice in Oxford. Based on our research, we have pinned down to the following four areas - Abingdon, Bicester, Didcot, Eynsham, Kidlington and Witney.
I very well appreciate that the preference for location is very subjective, based on needs and varies from one individual to other.
However, I would like to listen views from people who have lived in any or multiple of the above locations. I would be happy to know about the pros and cons of each places. Thank you so much.
Anyone know of any bars/venues hosting a watch party for the US election returns? I know Democrats Abroad has a party in London but don’t see anything in Oxford.
