Hey everyone! I have connected my xbox to the router via an ethernet cable to establish an internet connection so I can ftp over games. Do I have to do anything besides hooking the cable up? Right now its telling me that its not connected to the internet eventhough the connection light besides the ethernet cable port lights up in orange. I am using XBMC4Gamers and found the network settings but I dont know where to go from here. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is there any instruction to solder it, for example, or is it possible to just buy an adapter on Aliexpress?

Hi there. If you’ve seen me ask this question before I apologize.

I have a v1.0 board that frags when it starts. The clock capacitor blew and destroyed some traces. The bios may also need to be reflashed (I have the backup).

Does anybody in this group have the skills to take this on? I’d really like to get this mainboard back in my Xbox (using a replacement right now). I’m in Orlando, FL.

Does anyone have a working disc drive willing to sell? I have a Philips but it won’t read my disks and I’m having issues getting a new one

Been a while since I installed the Rocky5. I want to uninstall it so I can sell my system. I have been trying all day and cannot seem to find a way. I tried the extras disc but I think I get a special hardmod menu? I did upgrade the HDD. I think that might be why. Anyway to reset this back to factory so I can resell it? I can't seem to find anything that works for me online. Thanks!

I have the above power supply 240v. I can't seem to test contiunity accross the fuse? Are they coated in something. When I test I am getting 3.3v standby at the motherboard connector so a bit confused.

Most of the 14 Xbox’s I’m testing have perfect clean picture, but a few are poor quality. I was told that means the VRM caps are going, but I don’t see any that look bad?

So I found an Original XBOX (v1.4), in a yard sale. It was completely filthy and rusted to all hell. I had never messed around with an Original XBOX so I thought to tinker with it. I bought it, cleaned it up (took hours.. PS Barkeeper's Friend is the best thing ever.) then saw that some of the capacitors were blown so I obtained a Cap Kit and replaced all capacitors. Also cleaned out and replaced the thermal paste on GPU/CPU. Also completely cleaned and rebuilt the disk drive (completely caked with crap, wouldn't open tray). It all works well, reads games as well.

Luckly the old drive still works, but I'd like to replace it since it might just die on me one day soonish I'd imagine. So I'd like to upgrade it. After some research, I saw I could soft mod with the Rocky5 Softmod tools:

I happen to have a 5TB lying around from when I upgrade the drives in my NAS and thought to use that. So I have a few questions. Would I be able to do this, or is there some limitation in size requirement that the XBOX has? Is there a way around it if there is? Would I have to use a smaller size drive? if so what size would be the maximum?

The original xbox case does have same for atx power supply and to edit or even make new case that will accommodate this any one can help me that would be grate.

Hello, I had installed a hard mod chip following this video a couple of years ago. Recently I tried using it again, it would show the Evox boot screen and sometimes freeze there, and sometimes it would load in, I could then select games, and it would sometimes boot into the games or just freeze on the loading screen. If I successfully got into the game, if I actually started it, it would just go to a black screen. So I re-seated all of the cables, and tried messing around with the settings. I hit "restore to factory defaults" on Xenium, thinking this would maybe help, but it removed all of my kernels. Now when I try to add a kernel, it says that "the file doesn't fit". How do I restore my kernel and possibly load games again? Thanks!

As their hard disk drives start to fail and DVD-ROM drives start becoming more and more expensive to repair, how is it going to even be possible to own a completely stock (functional) Xbox in the future?

I’m thinking of buying a copy of gta vice city for the original Xbox as I’ve heard it’s backwards compatible with the x360. However, whilst doing my research I have found gameplay videos emulated on the 360 that don’t include these effects, the 360 version also looks kinda bright.
