Since they never announce it anywhere, I figured I'd let everyone here know. If you can, please vote.
Check out the Louisiana page. Pretty scary stuff.
I visited New Orleans last year for work and it was amazing. I’d like to visit again my my family. There would be about 20 of us. We do a trip together every year.
We usually find a home big enough for all of us but I’m not finding anything that big.
Does anyone have recommendations of where to stay? It doesn’t have to be in New Orleans, close by would be fun.
Neighborhoods, towns, etc to stay? Thank you.

I have 5 tickets that can be transferred to someone that is willing to purchase them from me. Our family can no longer go ☹️
First of all, I'm sorry, if my question is weird, or doesn't fit the subreddit.
I want to learn about Louisiana. I can read about it's history, biggest cities, environment, but when it comes to culture, I thought it was better to just ask. My question is broad and I'm sorry for that. The most important thing for me is - what makes your home feel like your home. What do you like about it? What do you dislike? How are people from here different, than those from other states? Anything you can think of.
And he is supposed to be our responsible senator of the two!

In dire need of 2 adult tickets for Nov 30th LA Renaissance Faire. I saw some on Vivid Seats but they look scammy. Planning to go tomorrow and realized we didn’t get tix!
Help us live our pirate dreams, msg me or comment pls!

Also, good Cajun food restaurants recommendations are appreciated 😊

Hey y'all! I'm looking for resources to better understand Louisiana and why we're Like This. I want to better understand how and why our economy and politics are this way, and then hopefully that will help me see ways we can change things in the future. I'm basically looking for a Louisiana for dummies style primer. Why do we give huge corporations mega tax breaks? Why do we have oil resources but we're still so poor? Why is our political system so different from other states, like "jungle politics". Things like that. I'd like factual resources- offered in earnest- that can help me make sense of our state, its history, and its potential for the future
As a kid from “down the bayou” Louisiana, I made a lot of trips to New Orleans. I always loved it and the people were GREAT. My first job was actually working in New Orleans, where I spent my first year in college. I started to notice that, although I liked to travel all across Louisiana (go to BR, Lafayette, New Orleans, and all the little small towns in between,) it seems like my New Orleans friends never cared to leave anywhere outside the Kenner/WestBank/Slidell area. I always knew that New Orleans and BR voted blue and the rest of most of the state voted red, but I never judged them for feeling differently than I do. I then went on Reddit and see that some people from New Orleans do not claim the rest of the state of Louisiana, claim they are from “New Orleans not Louisiana,” and get upset on how the state is so republican. Please tell me yall in New Orleans don’t look down on us. Is this the case? I really love Louisiana, love our shared culture and kindness, and love how we all come together when it matters most. I never hope to see about division.
Didn’t realize how fast they sold out this year!
If a Quebecan decides to move to Louisiana and wants their off-spring to have a French upbringing, would this be possible?
Like, going to French middle/high schools, French-language television, French-language newspapers?
Edit: THEY HAVE BEEN SOLD
Hi yall! Thanksgiving gave me the flu so I can’t make it this weekend to the fair.
I have two tickets for today (11/29) and two tickets for tomorrow (11/30).
Just asking face value ($24.95)
So I’m considering getting a handgun, I (25F) live in Louisiana and am a single mother. We live alone and I have to go to some pretty unsafe cities regularly for my daughter’s doctors appointments. I would just feel more comfortable knowing that I can protect myself and my daughter if necessary. My brother in law told me not to get a conceal carry permit because he says that if you kill someone in self defense you’ll go to jail. Is that true? He says they train you to shoot to injure, not to kill, and that having the permit and training, they will charge you for murder even if you act in self defense. Obviously I plan to never have to use it, but I am worried about getting it now. Thoughts?
And a free boil pot with every birth.
I work at a hostile environment in Louisiana. My co-workers and managers insult me and continually threaten me.
The down side is. There are no cameras what so ever in my workplace so since I’m new. No one believes me when I make reports. And I can’t leave because I can’t afford to lose the job.
My legal questions are. Would it be legal for me to use my phone and record my entire shift ? For example I’d put my phone in my shirt pocket and record everything so I could have proof of the work abuse.
