Is Ximena Lopez a good professor?
I was going to move on campus but decided I should just wait until spring, I canceled my housing request but the meal plan is still on there, who do I get in contact with to cancel my meal plan?
hi y’all, does anyone have any experience with the finance professor Robert Penick? or Walter Jane? Penick has really negative reviews, and TR class at 2-3:15 that works better with my schedule. Jane has positive reviews, only downside is that he has a wednesday class from 6-8:45pm. any advice/experience with either professor?
Hey, has anybody ever had to submit a SAP appeal form before? If so, was it approved or denied? I have to submit one, but i’m not sure what I should talk about in my appeal, what was the topic for y’all? and what are the rules on documentation?
Hi everyone. I’m a new graduate student here at UNO. I just want to get this off my chest and see if anybody else feels similar. To keep this as digestible as possible, I will spare the details. However, graduate school has been a dream of mine since undergrad. However, now that I’m here, I’m more depressed than ever. I’m not sure if it’s because of the lack of student life or the fact there’s a lack of solidarity with other POC graduate students. Not only is there a lack of solidarity, but it’s a small hint of racism that makes it worse. I’m just not feeling it. Then the program I’m in barely offers online courses, which makes it even more difficult because sitting in lecture doesn’t help me at all. This is a shit show and I’m wondering should I transfer to an online school.
Anybody taking Dr. Beaton class? I just wanted to know what will be on the exam that will definitely be asked about from the lecture notes. Help please.
I'm n PPlace. it's een unbearable and borderline unusable.
Okay Idk if anyone else just had this happen to them, but I went on my workday to check and see if my balance was paid yet with my financial aid and it wasn’t, but now it’s showing $0.00 in my accepted financial aid for all of my loans and grants, like before it showed the amount that I had accepted, but now I see nothing. I didn’t see anything in the anticipated payments or refunds either so i’m extremely confused. Financial Aid office has not been helpful at all, has not emailed me back once. Can anyone else lmk if this just happened to them?
I have submitted 4 inquiries within this last week with no response. It is very difficult to focus on my studies while dealing with trying to get information on my account. I am in Texas, and I am unable to come to the campus to check on my financial aid. No one is available by phone or anything. Not being able to get a response of any kind is extremely frustrating. I have been sending messages since last Friday and NO ONE had responded.
Happy Halloween everyone, even though it’s 10PM. I wasn’t able to be out and about for a lot of the day, but saw some costumes on Xitter.
What were y’all’s favorites to see walking around?
(Also, did anyone else get to see Jesus walking around yesterday lol)
Just a few questions and some background before I apply:
I'm a student from Tennessee looking to get a degree in forensic science or something along those lines. There are not a lot of schools that offer this plus internships, etc. UNO, VCU, and MTSU are the closest to me that offer forensic programs.
I'm looking for something cheap, or at least reasonably priced. I do not care for greek life and do not really care about typical college expirence. I already have a years worth of college credits and see no point in those things lol
Here's some questions about UNO:
What's it like to be a student there? How does your schedule look day to day?
Academically, is it a good school?
I've heard the housing is terrible, so don't bother going on a rant about the mold... are we required to live on campus for the first year?
Is the forensic chemistry a good degree to get there?
How hard is it to make friends?
Do they make it easy to find internships?
Any other information is also welcome :) Thanks!
(Edit: I am not a transfer student, I'll be applying as a first year)

Hello!
We are currently recruiting young adults aged 18-30 to take part in our no-cost sleep coaching study. The purpose of this study is to test whether specialized sleep coaching sessions that focus on the science of habit formation can help people who have difficulty getting to sleep at night, difficulty waking up or getting out of bed in the morning, and feel sleepy during the day. We are hoping that this research study will result in a sleep treatment that will help many people who have these types of sleep problems.
This study is really exciting because we’re offering free sleep coaching with therapists who have specialized training in sleep therapy at UC Berkeley. This is a unique opportunity to get access to no-cost sleep coaching for those struggling with their sleep. Eligible individuals will receive compensation for completing each part of the study (four 60-90 minute Zoom interviews, 7 days of wearing a sleep watch, and 7 days of completing online surveys). Additional information provided upon phone screening. The study is entirely remote.
If you are interested in learning more, please contact us by email at sleepteamucb@gmail.com, or via phone at (510) 473-6490. You can find more information about our lab and this study at the following link: https://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~ahsleep/gbsmrc_mock/sleep-habits-study/
I'm getting tired of walking out of the dorms and seeing people leaving their to-go containers and fast food bags out by their cars in the parking lot. There's trash cans, y'all. Use them. All it does is blow around and look like a mess.
Specifically UNO moving to a 4 day week. As in a professor is preparing the class as such.
So I was over at my friend’s dorm the other day, and yes I was checked in. We were straight up just walking down the hallway laughing and I guess her RA thought we were running/being loud so she came out of her room and yelled at us??? Like for what???? I told her we were just talking and she proceeded to tell us she knew we were being loud and making noise in the hallway. This is like the second rude encounter my friend has had with her but she doesn’t really know what to do because the girl doesn’t seem approachable at all. Not tryna get her in trouble or anything but it’s not okay she feels like she can just talk to people like that.
Has anybody taken this class? I have questions.
Okay so I'm graduating this semester and I know that I made one of the Latin honors, I believe magna or potentially summa, and there's just no information about this. I'm trying to make my grad invites and obviously want to include the honors ranking but there's no like, listing of uno Latin honors anywhere. Also, and I've been trying to find this out forever, how/when do I get the cords for it? One time I read somewhere that we get them at graduation but that seems funky and the graduation email has never once responded. Who can I ask about this?
Thanks yall
Has anybody taken this class and passed with an A? I have questions.
does anyone take this class w dr. Chevernak? i am trying to connect with people as i am not able to usually make his classes due to my schedule.
Hello everyone ! I’m a new grad student starting in the spring in the MA Romance Languages program. Just wondering if anyone else here is doing it too ? Happy to chat with anyone in the program, or the French program too. Feel free to dm me 😄
Just looking for a place to stay. I’m out of town and have to be back for class/work soon.
Any other options would be great, too!
Pretty much that! I want to take pics in my cap and stole for grad invites, need some ideas for good spots on campus!
Hi all, I got into the Masters program at UNO for urban planning. What financial aid is available to me? I don’t make a lot of money and I’d be moving from Atlanta to New Orleans. Will loans from the government be enough? Also, what are good off campus housing options?
Aaron
