Lighters. Cheap ones, expensive ones, the one you bought in the head shop or the Zippo your grandfather passed on to you. We want to see them!

Bring a picture of the lighter lit by your beautiful girlfriend, a story about how you shoplifted your first lighter or about the person you met using your steampunk lighter. We want to hear.

at the bottom of the lighter a screw is missing, just need to find out what its called so i can buy replacement. https://imgur.com/a/lighr-NFLybJF
Is there anything I should know about this lighter or anything I should be checking before filling it up?
Is it common for these to need refurbishment before filling the butane? Is it likely to leak or should I just go for it and see how it goes?
Bottom of the lighter says Kingsway Foreign.
I've just started collecting vintage lighters (both butane and wick style) and I've cleaned, polished, re-wicked, re-packed, and re-flinted a few of them at this point.
I know that cleaning is a big no-no in the coin collecting world; but is it the same for old lighters? I do actually use them, so I do value a certain amount of functionality.
I just wonder if I'm committing some sort of sacrilege haha. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Not the most valuable or the rarest lighter in my collection but most definately the most beautiful.
Found this at my friends a while ago, been trying to fix it for a while, try’d to fill it up, and won’t light. Only problem, is that it will light, but won’t stay lit. If anyone could give some advice it be greatly appreciated.
70’s flea market Japan lighter find!
Thought you all might appreciate it.
Bought today.
My first non-disposable lighter, a Douglass Field L in brass. Loving the feel, design and build quality.
I can’t find the original “Marvelous” flints for sale in Canada. A couple of places will ship but the cost is a bit high for flint. What’s a good alternative?
Is the strike wheel considered soft or hard? I’m wondering if I can just use Zippo flints in the lighter without causing excessive wear on the wheel… Or maybe I need a softer flint like the Kiribi?
Any advice on getting the screws off so I can get access to the insides? The mechanism is stuck and I’ve tried as much as I can to get the screws moving without destroying the heads. The lighter will only move the first 20% of the movement before stopping. There’s a flint that is stuck in the tube pretty hard and I want to open it up before going in with a tiny drill. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I have a Ronson “Eric” table lighter. It fell off my desk(I have a cat), and the lighter insert must’ve fallen in the trashcan. Does anybody know where I can get a replacement vintage round table lighter insert appropriate to this model? Not that it matters, but it’s the same model on the wardens desk in the film Shawshank Redemption.
