How do i put this stupid little fiddly wonky round spring back in place?
I have refilled the lighter several times in the past hour, The lighting expels too much gas too quickly, no matter how low I set the flame, it continues to let out lots of gas, emptying the lighter in a matter of seconds. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
I recently bought a large ST Dupont Ligne 1. It was low on gas so I also bought a butane canister and a set of valve adapters. I'm having trouble refilling it though, as the gas just leaks everywhere when I try.
From googling around a bit it seems the valve o-rings might need to be replaced, but I'm not sure? Could use some help figuring this out
If anyone has any resources on how to go about repairing this (and where to buy the valve removal tool - can't find that thing online!) it would be greatly appreciated!
This is my mother's torch - it won't light on its own, it sparks though. And if you light another lighter like a bic or something and then hold the flame up to it while pushing the button on the torch, the butane will light and it'll stay lit until you let go of the button. So its just that for some reason the spark isn't igniting the butane like it should
Hi there! I picked up this cool poker chip butane lighter a few weeks ago. Recently i dropped it and it jumbled the pieces inside and stopped striking. I opened it up and two small pieces came out. I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix it. All the pieces are present. Thanks!
Both my father and I think we’re missing a piece but we don’t know what it is. The spinning wheel spins fine the opposite way but hardly spins at all the proper way. It also has a little square carved into it. All I know about the lighter is that it’s an omega super lighter.
Feel free to ask any questions about it, I’d be happy to answer to the best of my knowledge
Any help is appreciated
Tried many times with different adaptors and It seems like its leaking out the front or Just clogged somehow
I checked the flint and it seems fine, not sure if needs replacing but i already filled it with butane and tried to light it with another lighter while tryjng to spark it and it still doesn't work.
I’m new to lighter repair. I’m working to restore my Grandfathers Ronson Adonis, 1950s model. The flint spring was damaged so I ordered new ones, only to find they are too thin to thread the hole. I have the old screw, but the barb on it is broken, so I can’t simply place a new spring on the old screw. Does anyone know how I can either make the new screw fit, or attach a spring to the old screw missing the barb?
I have seen people having obscure problems with their repaired lighters for a long time now. These problems include:
flame getting smaller and smaller during burning
flame size changing after closing and opening the lid
flame size changing while tilting the lighter
It's important to note that not all lighters have stuff in the gas tanks. But some do and those gas systems need it!
S.T. Dupont lighters have these small paper bags in the gas tanks filled with carbon pellets. These do not only clean the gas, more importantly they stabilize the flame during burning. These bags break sometimes, so people remove them. There is no replacement for these bags and the lighter works, so people won't care. But at some point they will notice problems with the flame. It's super difficult to trace back the problem to these bags because there are so many things that could cause this problem.
The solution is to put a small piece of foam into the gas tank. This method was used a long time by different lighter manufacturers.
Important note: the smell of the gas in the lighter is heavily impacted by the foam. So if the gas from your lighter always smells like shit even if you change the gas it's the foam. This is especially a problem with lighters that have very old foam inside or where the owner was a massive smoker. If you repaired a lot of lighters you may have noticed that the remaining gas in the tank that you let out always smells like grandpa but in different ways. I can't explain why but the foam takes up the smell of it's surrounding environment over time.
So maybe you have to try different foams or materials in general until you find a good replacement (they should NOT react with the gas, so look for something that is chemically stable). I think maybe you can even take these white sticks from throwaway lighters and use those (cut to fitting pieces). These sticks are in throw away lighters for the same reason. Stabilizing gas output.
Have a good one and stay safe 🤙
So I've seen that all Clipper lighterds have a white end which you can take off but I don't see that on mine. Is it missing or am I an idiot?
Hello! I was wondering what size is the bodenschraube screw in an old boy corona IM lighter?
I got the name from:
And sadly none of these fit:
So after fixing refill valve and too strong flame problems, I've encountered the hardest one yet - flame valve leaking. When the cap goes down flame gas continues to enter the nozzle.
