im looking for a hero to main thats beginner friendly that is also in the current meta
His Cold Embrace is annoying and he has lens + telescope while our draft have no catch. What to buy? Does Nullifier work?
How good is his intelligent steals against heavy mana dependent heroes ? core silencer shard better than diffusal against medusa?
Hi, so i played viper offlane and my pos 4 lion put antimage down into poverty. But after 45 minutes we lost the game. The safe lane had hard support ursa. And we lost. My mid was level 6 when the enemy mid was level 11 and my pa was farming and still died to am towards the end.
In scenario like this, how do i make it possible we win? I tried everything and its frustrating that the team just doesn't seem to care that we will not win with 5 cores on the enemy team if we dont end fast. And when am had butterfly i have no clue why didnt he get a mkb. Like, I am a 2k noob but these people are on my rank and I just dont see how this game is balanced. I'm very angry.
match id: 8016700561
I've increase my behavior and communication from 7k to 8.9
So What am I missing? like do i need more?
My account is IMMORTAL 7.5 in SEA
I get to find ranked matches from time to time like 1 in every week
I love this guy, I've played 3 matches on him on the rolling barrel facet and I'm just looking for any kind of advice someone might be able to give to help me be smarter with the hero.
I give up. This hero is the dumbest concept I've ever seen in Dota. He can be 7 levels and 10k nw down and still solo kill you, gets infinite scaling and BKB is absolutely useless against him. It used to be manageable back in the day when he basically fell off a cliff, but now his E deals pure damage, gets armor out of his ass and with talents/facets/neutrals , his late game is just fine. This motherfucker literally changes the game just by existing. Good luck getting anything done on the map without having vision of this guy constantly while all the axe player needs to think of is : see heroes, blink towards heroes, press Q. Blademail. Welcoming any and all "But Ackshuallys" here coz I got no solution other than 'be 1000 MMR better than the Axe picker'
this is the item build i use
but people telled me that khanda isnt good for Spirit Breaker
so whats the best item build for Spirit Breaker
I just unlocked ranked after playing many heroes 1-2 games so I have a good understanding of the game.
In normal, I am getting matched against Guardian / Crusader players. Don't know if it means my current level is around this rank, but I guess?
I know my question's answer is probably: "Whatever you find it more fun!", but for now, I haven't found what I find the most fun.
Let's say that my goal of playing ranked is to climb the ladder and be proud of my improvment (without a specific goal in particular), what should I play?
Here are my "hero pool" which is more based on fun than anything else:
I don't separate soft and hard support for now, because I feel like in low elo, it doesn't change much.
Note: my way to know if a hero makes sense at a role is to check if there is a guide about it with high upvote.
Mid
Pros: I love Leshrac and Necrophos. I think I could played them a lot without getting bored. / I think it's a fun lane macro wise because you can roam and influence the map. / It feels good to be ahead in levels.
Cons: I hate certain matchups like Arc Warden or Shadow Fiend / I find the rune spawn and bottle meta very boring.
Safe
Pros: It's fun to be the main character / I like to just farm camps as efficiently as possible.
Cons: Feels like it can be a lot of frustration when the support is not helping.
Offlane
Pros: Heores are pretty unique. / Gold and experience is less important, but still matters creating diverse gameplay.
Cons: When I am behind, I feel like a support with bad abilities or a core with no items and it's hard to keep up by just farming.
Support
Pros: I feel like it's very fight orientated, which is fun! / There no other players ruining your early game for you.
Cons: Feels very dependant on the teammates. I only play support that have at least a bit of waveclear because players at my elo are so bad at catching waves. / Feels like a sub hero with how underleveled and squishy I am. / I hate having to manage my inventory swapping wards, smoke, dust, depending of the situation that may occur in the next 6 seconds.
So, overall, I lean more onto safe. But I would like to know:
I'm coming back to Dota after a year's break ( was divine bracket) and I'm looking to play mid. I'm unsure when to draft my comfort heroes with the recent changes. What should I be looking for in the draft to make me choose between Ember, Invoker and Windranger mid?
Would it be worth learning a “hard to play” hero like ES?
Hey, I always had this debate in my mind. Which is really better in a battle for the whole team to win:
Basically, I was playing Enchantress and as I was a backline dps-support, I was usually standing at the back, kiting, doing "something" but if the whole battle was lost, I could go back and wait for everyone to respawn and generally finish the match sometimes with little to no deaths. Last match I went back from the toilet in the picking phase, learning the whole team took a mostly support team with no dps after my Enchantress. I was sent as an ADC to the bot. I think I had like 7 - 1 with people having 10+ deaths etc.
According to all the guides here to "not die", it must've been a "perfect" match. I've sometimes kited and enemies went left and right not knowing which side to go and which enemy to chase, taking damage whole time when doing so.
However, ofc I had a rather little damage taken. So I was always wondering how it affects the whole team performance, like that damage is going somewhere after all. It might be good to dodge it but if I play a supportive character, some of the cores must tank some of it instead.
So back in some time I was usually playing tanky Death Prophet with very high damage received because I could click ulti, spells, be chased, disabled, targetted and still do a stupidly high damage to everyone, unlike a lot of other heroes who get taken off and don't contribute anymore while doing so.. so I had top DPS done and received because of defensive items and the whole time, my team mates were free to have a calm game with enough of battle chaos to do DPS undisturbes. I felt like I contributed a lot of the team, the worst was though if I was taking all the kills, doing all dps, tanking everything at the same time etc. and we won only by a miracle when one of our cores like Terrorblade after 50 min of farming with 0/13 became actually doing somethingl, but that's just a small detail xDDD
But anyway, this was mostly before Facets and I liked that on 6 lvl she got a bit movement speed boost that allowed for an OP 6 lvl chasing / kiting and ganking xD Now I often got outdpsed etc.
So I've decided to take some actual STR Hulk, I've taken Undying xdd And the early game was just a pure retarded fun, people fighting near the tombstone and getting boinked by a fricking hulk just boink kill, boink kill and when I died, some zombies often remained and helped my team-mate to finish the rest off.
But then, I built Saber Echo as I often saw it on some op Slardars but I actually started dying a bit. I think I've should have finished Vanguard into Crimson Guard and I think make Eternal Shroud to just regen mana in combat and be shielded both from some physical hits and have some bonus magic resistance. Anyway, but when I just sacrificed myself as a meat shield in battle, our carries finished the rest and we won.
Anyway, next game I was much weaker early game and I was just this meatshield, like enemy teams attacks me, I die trying to survive, leave a tombstone and my whole team of 4 carries kill the rest, resulting in the enemy being humilitated and our carries being very OP. I got some kills in the meanwhile, sometimes even a double kill etc.. If we had very bad carries though, I wouldnt be able to do much.
So, in the end, which thing would be better for the team success? A necesary meatshield sacrifice trying to cause chaos or some very reserved, kiting backline with little to no deaths but for example doing ultra good dps or some ultra good CC?
he's pretty OP with double impact innate once he hits level 5, spamming fist and root. A combo usually brings me down to half life
what starting items builds to sustain and eventual item builds? mass ring of protection?
usually by the time I farm orchid, he can quickly farm eul or manta by ganking other lanes
also, he will farm mage slayer so doubly screwed.
if i farm hex, then he farm linken -_-
My skill build is max 2nd and 3rd. Should I max ss or put 1 point into it instead?
5 Nulls so he can spam his powershot
how to deal with these kind of players? it happens every other game. winning in low ranks comes down to which team has less griefers :D this WR had no items beside 5x Nulls maybe up till 25-30min. at least BH could kill enemies. we somehow won because the enemy was griefing more but wtf..
this game was an absolute stomp by the viper, did i do the right thing of leaving the lane to jungle and rushing blink on axe? by the way battlehunger sucks with zombie tombstone so hard. is there anything i could have done better?

I was rewatching a replay (8015077002) and at 24:20 we had a teamtight and I (the disruptor) used glimmer cape against drow but for some reason I was revealed and she was able to attack and then kill me, and I dont know why she was able to attack me, and I really want to know what the problem was so I can avoid it later on
8014834152 Played Axe, completely destroyed enemy ursas early game, team had a massive lead early game, aomething like 33:10 Yet somehow we lost, can someone look an say what went wrong, very curious and want to prevent this from ever happening if its in my control
I was suspicious of a player on the enemy team who always seemed to have a 6th sense about things. I watched replay to see if I was just being paranoid but they were consistently aggressively pushing and farming in areas they had no vision while most of our heroes were not in vision. When I looked at the replay from their directed, their mouse was also jumping around a lot while they were moving the camera. What is the best way to address this for me?
This hero is very high damage and survivable. Looks like no weakness to me
comeback dota 2023 at ancient rank, you can say i play almost everyday
What happens if hero movement spells target an enemy that is subject to Grimstroke’s soul bind? For example Sven Superman punch or Necro’s death seeker spell?
I figure they can’t split into two versions of themselves and each travel to each enemy. So does the spell simply duplicate but their character only appears at the one you targeted?
I've been practicing midlaning a little in unranked and I'm not super good at it (yet). So my question is what should I do if I clearly get outplayed? Lets say in the first 5 minutes I only get 10 LH's and die once and enemy is 2 levels ahead. I've been midlaning with viper, razor and sniper.
Hello! I just started playing and am trying to learn pos 1 using sven. In a recent game 8011828995 I get destroyed in lane by pango and ringmaster who eventually snowball and take over the game.
I believe my biggest mistake in this game was not pulling creeps at 4:20 (nice) which made the lane significantly more dangerous to farm from this point forward. I eventually abandon the lane and try to jungle which I think I should have done earlier after the lane became too dangerous. If anyone can provide more insights or correct my understanding of pos 1 laning/sven I'd appreciate it!
I'm quilty of this ofc because I mostly play Enchantress, HOWEVER, I usually just pick first and I wouldnt take her to a team of only ranged squishes.. I mean I could BUT, people dont realise that they should only fit a squishy ranged amongst buffy, tanky heroes. One or two are fine because some quick, easy to deal damage ranged heroes can hide amongst the chaos of the battle and help in eliminating enemies... But I've seen so much games lost because they cant even take a battle.
I've found teams that have a foundation consisting of havoc-spreading tankies usually winning if they aren't very bad ofc. They create some space etc. and the DPS'es can act. Even some tanky Death Prophet can create some chaos so they don't have to be a Str because some of the mages can get tanky/utility items and deal and soak dps at the same time.
But there are mamy games lost because there is Sniper, Drow Ranger, Invoker, Dazzle in the same team... when enemies have Lone Druid, Pitlord, Pudge combined with only one heavy-agi DPS dealer who actually dealt the smallest amount of DPS in their team lol.
To really be good, I'd have to always wait and pick last for whatever is needed for my team XDD
Hello! Do you guys have any tips how to select only to steer golems? I have bound space to steer only warlock, but when i select all the warlock being selected too. Any idea to choose only the golems? Or should i use select all, then stop to stop the warlock from moving?
I play primarily pos 1/2, mainly atm pos 1.
What carries do best vs SF? I play mainly MK, Morph, TA, but can play whatever.
Is the best plan to go for early like MK? Sometimes when I morph I win, but fi team struggles I can't do much and SF snowballs ahead.
I've read that the general answer to stuns is BKB, but after some testing I see that BKB does not prevent any of the 3 stuns of Spirit Breaker. And after reading the wiki page about BKB and Dispel types, it still makes zero sense to me.
BKB seems to block some stuns from abilities even though the abilities have STRONG dispel only in their description, and BKB should only be a BASIC dispel: Sven, Wraith King, Centaur Warrunner, Nyx Assassin.
Pudge's hook doesn't have anything written under dispellable, yet it still hooks through BKB and stuns you during the animation.
Can someone please explain? This is so confusing and poorly explained in the game.
invisible support keeps thinking they are invincible, bh nyx whatever. im at 4k and people still feed with invis hero.
